it strange isn't it?  Replacing a mature site with this....would be a great pretext for a 'hack' to come in now and take all the coins.  Sorry, but something just doesn't add up - for example 8,000 people still can't login and they aren't responding to anything on it.

It's not strange to me.

You're judging it by the skin plus it's got teething troubles - so what's new ? They'll get smoothed out in a few days. If you think Microsoft can do any better with their v1.0 releases then you don't know the software industry Smiley

The upgrade was about trading engines not beauty. It still needs a 'proper' skin and they've already acknowledged that this is a makeshift one as they had to regress the v2 production skin for some reason - I don't know what.

b.t.w. I've got no private interest in Moolah/Mintpal, I just know software development. Wait till the end of the month and then let rip if you still think it's a mess.

You can login then, I can't it says 'account doesn't exist' and I was in the middle of buying an MN when the site just went down on Thursday so put yourself in my shoes Wink
Normally all the orders had been reseted.

cool, first trades!

Haha, all me..

I sold 0.00001 DRK @ 0.003

HI AlexGR!!

and then used that to buy 0.000005 DRK from MYSELF at 0.006..

Im stuck at "Attempting to place order"... :-(

Same here ...
"Attempting to place order" and.....nothing.

I've been getting a lot of errors too, doesn't matter what browser..

I do see on their twitter they're rebooting their socket server..

So at the bottom of your screen you probably see it stuck at:
"Platform Status:  Connecting..."

Did you reset your password ? If your trying to login with your old password then of course it will say "account doesn't exist". Click the "I forgot my password" link.

Did the site go down without any notice ? I can't believe they didn't give any advance notice of it going down (I haven't got any in my email history from them).

Yes I tried that.  I have another account I used that I could reset.

They only gave notice on Moolah twitter, I didn't see anything on Mintpal site or twitter and they didn't do a mailer.

They have made some basic mistakes BTW, e.g. they didn't test a full migration from the live v1 db for one, hence the big delay on migration and probably this issue with missing accounts is a data issue that came up when they tried the full migration for the first time

Anyway, just want to see my coins then i'm happy as i'm sure a lot of people are, no problem to use mintpal again if I see it working but not seeing that yet.

Here's the thing, we as crypto enthusiasts are already worried about forks, double spend attacks, time warp exploits, etc. So to completely screw the pooch like this with these kinds of peoples money is game over.

How have they "screwed the pooch" ?

All they've done is take a few days longer to get the site up than they announced. People are over-dramatising this. I'd understand if they thought it beleid some more fundamental malaise - like over leverage of funds a. la, Gox or something - but it's a plain and simple technology delay. I wouldn't even call it a cock up, just a delay. It's clearly a complex task. You can never simulate a public network application adequately to anticipate all of the little issues you'll have on launch - just have to take the hits when they come.

The main thing is that:

a) - funds are not in jeopardy
b) - there are no critical bugs in the trading engine (a la Cryptsy negative balances and hair-stand-on-end stuff like that)
c) - that funds are not tied up for an excessive amount of time without adequate redress
d) - that there is no underlying corrupt activity

None of the above appear to be the case here so I say we give them the benefit of the doubt for now and constructively support their efforts to get things stable rather than mindlessly putting the boot into them.

Anyone with missing DRK balance ?

I emailed 'em earlier today for withdrawal, but I didn't receive any confirmation from them about my request.

tok the main issue is they didn't know to test a full migration before they did it, that's what caused the 5 day delay. in the industry this is basic knowledge, the fact they didn't do that suggests they are inexperienced, so there will probably be a lot of other basic issues. just saying

I'm missing multiple balances. Some markets aren't even showing.

The site made me reset the password but it allowed the same one to be used. Didn't prompt me for my 2 factor authentication either.

Same. After like a dozen attempts, I got 2FA to generate a fresh QR. Logged out, tried logging in, locked out. Code doesn't work.

Yes - I'd have to agree that not testing a full migration when you've got all the data right in front of you makes me think they are in their early twenties rather than their late forties like me.

Been there.

Well, everyone gets their baptism of fire - I'm sure they'll be getting adequately skelpt for it and I just didn't feel the need to join in the party.

I totally agree. I work in hospital I.T. and it is crazy how long it takes to fix things that are directly correlated with peoples life's. Vital signs not crossing over through interfaces, worklist not loading etc. People really do need to be much more understanding of these types of instances rather than just thinking the world, and computers in it are perfect. I do understand that people are sketched out when it comes to these types of things because money is very important and getting ripped off sucks really, really, really bad. I understand because when I first started doing this stuff I was dumb as dirt, well maybe dumber than dirt, but darkcoin was skyrocketing and I did not really have time for reading and getting to know things. I just wanted money money money and it was bringing it in big time. Anyway now that things have settled down, but are headed in a positive direction I will instill my trust in Mintpal once again. I do believe that they should have had a banner on the front page with an explanation of what was going to occur with a little bit of caution to be taken. I would personally be pretty pissed if I had a big trade to make some serious duckets and it got cancelled. Anyway I don't work for Mintpal, but I like them and they really did do alot of volume of DRK which is good for us. Hopefully things will continue on and they will soon get fiat to drk conversions. Oh yea and the free trades until the end of the year UH Hell yea.

It keeps resetting the QR code and doesn't ask for verification. <-- It's broken.

yeh you're right, it happens. they have taken a lot of flak, but if they get it working as well as the V1 and soon they will be back in business. at least it looks like they aren't doing a mt gox so that's good news Smiley c'est la vie.

Show me proof that they still have funds. Looking up your MintPal address does you no good since they swap between hot and cold wallets.
Also, I could care less about a trade engine, I just want my coins withdrawn. How hard is that?!
Lastly show me proof of no corrupt activity. So far all I've seen is either corrupt delaying tactics or incompetent behavior, both of which is going to make me move everything away from MintPal if ever they open up again for withdrawals.
I think you could use an eye-opening experience like potentially losing a good chunk of your crypto to a swindler or an incompetent to truly see this MintPal fiasco for what it truly is.
