Cheesy

Look at that... network compliance & masternode payouts... makes me smile! Only wished I could afford more DRK.

I do understand that a simple poll is really practical.
BUT
i would prefer a cardinal-voting-system or something like it.

there are a few options i could live with, and some i would really not like to win.
casting a single vote doesn´t reflect that.

ps: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voting_system#Rated_voting_methods

What should we name this release?

Thinking about a meme using "dark matter"...
Maybe we could take the periodic table of chemical elements and put the word "DARK" in front of every element, starting with Hydrogen:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periodic_table

so

Dark Hydrogen (would be the first name to use)
then
Dark Helium
then
Dark Lithium
then
Dark Beryllium

etc...

the good thing about this is we will not run out of consistent names for a while, to name all the following versions.  Wink
Also we could create a sub logo for every version that consists of an atomic model with changing numbers of protons/neutrons and electrons.

EDIT: Here is what it might look like:

When we reach Version Dark Gold in 10 years, how awesome will that be?  Grin

I'd drop the word "Dark" from the name. Remember that "Darkcoin" will come before the release name. Darkcoin Dark Lithium.

https://drk.mn/masternodes.html

looks strange to me. Is there an MN net attack attempt going on or something?
or one desperatly trying to setup an MN behind a Tor NET? see XwzmEE1cJ6HG84CgJvAt7ADmJ8W9Wh65Tq with ever changeing IP's

Total Masternodes: 1596 = 1415 actives + 181 inactives (Last refresh: Tue Oct 07 2014 19:42:34)
-> 35% unknown masternode version ...

Quote
This release includes:

- Spork: True masternode payment enforcement and increasing masternode rewards
- Masternode Hardening, I've fixed over 10 vulnerabilities in Darksend that could have possibly caused DOS attacks
- Changed the way Masternode pinging works, using a timestamp calculated from the average block timestamp instead of the local time. This should fix some cases where nodes went offline after awhile.
- Added a simple list that will provide who gets paid on what blocks.
- Turned back on collateral transactions
- Added collateral to the queuing process (dsa and dsq protocol commands)
- Improved collateral strategy: Collateral is now paid in the form of mining fees. This creates a situation where to double spend the inputs, you would need to pay the miners higher fees then 0.1DRK (the collateral fee). This makes it impossible to double spend attack our collateral system.
- New command "masternode winners", shows the next 20 payees
- New Darksend branding

What we need to test:

- If anyone gets hit with a collateral charge, please send your debug.log and wallet.dat to evan@darkcoin.io
- "masternode winners" must always be in sync across the whole network. We'll need to figure out a way to test this
- Make sure the reward adjustment is working
- Make sure darksend is working properly
- Update pools and make sure the spork goes smoothly

What should we name this release?

Let's not name all builds after the same type of thing. Darkcoin should be more creative than that. Let's think up a cool name each time.

True, ... who knows... in 1 year maybe it's not even called Darkcoin anymore, lol... it started with XCoin, remember?
Though it gets more complicated the more adoption a name gets to suddenly change it.
