Darkcoin for recurrent payments

I was thinking today that one of the hurdles for crypto-adoption vs credit cards is the possibility of having subscription based contracts with customers that allow for recurrent payments.  I think one of the next things we can do combining the change contracts that Evan will work on next with the Instant Transaction locks that are already on testnet. Is establish a way for people to be able to subscribe to services with recurrent payments to be executed at the same day each month just like you do with credit cards. I think the locks for instant transactions can be really powerful since you can lock a transaction for an extended period of time and not only use it for fast confirmations but for contracts over a specific term. This could be great for magazines, cellphone contracts, SaaS software, porn, etc. What do you guys think?

There's a few people working on multi-sig escrow and contracts which I believe will fill this void, very exciting times for DRK.

::::: Digital currency infrastructure evolving :::::::::::::::::

Bitcoin derivatives being developed to help businesses mitigate risk. Top Australian bankers who chucked their jobs in the bank to develop bitcoin derivatives. [Ed comment: this is what will start to allow merchants to hold rather than dump their digital currency that they get from retail payments through payment processors such as Bitpay]

Perianne Boring: US Chamber of Digital Commerce (CEO of Boring & Company, LLC, a financial services technology consulting firm, served as an economic analyst in network broadcast news).

Lots of stuff going on in the background to build adoption.

****** TESTNET: PLEASE UPDATE TO v10.17.1 *******

Protocol bumped to 40047

Darksend Improvements
- Added 0.1DRK denomination
- Only 2 possible denomination sets now 0.1+1DRK, and 0.1+1+10DRK (down from 16). This means that Darksend will run at least 20x faster on mainnet. Each Darksend session can only happen with the same set of denominations, so this means we'll have an easier time finding matches.
- Dead Change : Darksend transactions will now over pay up to .1DRK, this means the excess change will be paid to miners. We could over pay the merchant, but it's important that we keep the ability to pay exact amounts using Darksend for backwards compatibility with all of the vendors out there. On average Darksend will cost .05DRK to send anonymously, per transaction (or about $0.11)
- Removed the 3 option combo-box and replaced it with a Checkbox. If checked, the transaction will be paid with only Darksend inputs, otherwise it will use any inputs available. This should be much easier to understand.

InstantX:
- Changed min-signatures to 2 for testing.
- Removed lots of spam

Masternodes:
- Fixed dsee propagation problems. Masternodes should work now.

Testnet or?

EDIT:

Yeah, that's testnet as the official website still says 10.16.16 unless it's not updated yet Tongue

Darkcoil v0.9.16.16

I created a low-profile wallet and daemon based on the 0.9.x branch if anyone is interested.

Is there a windows version of this? I grow old from my constantly unresponsive Darkcoin-QT windows wallet  Wink

Looks like p2pool luck is coming back around. The whole last week has been slow to produce blocks.
Found more in the last day than all of last week. We need more hash power it stays steadily around 1 ghs which barely 1-2% of the network at any given time. More people need to be told about the benefits of p2pool. While I don't think you can enforce people to mine on p2pool, having all that power on a few centralized pools is dangerous and archaic. Most of the pools in question refused to update to support masternodes payments for months and have shown they are capable of trying to manipulate the network. I don't think for a minute that if a rouge pool found a way to exploit a bug that they would use the opportunity for their own gain.

There are many p2pools a no fees or very little .5% an u get tx fees plus the minded payment goes directly into your wallet address as mined payment. Go to http://p2pools.org/drk and find the node with the lowest latency to you or if u can't find one, setup your own private node if u don't want to make public. There are tons of guides on how to do this http://www.guugll.eu/darkcoin-p2pool-setup/ being the best one I have found yet. It's updated and was published on Nov. 2nd 2014. If you need help u can ask myself or go to the irc chan #darkcoin or #p2pool on freenode ad there's always tons of helpful people there.

YEAAH!!!  Instant and unknow !8)

 Instant and anonymous.

 A cryptographer's wet dream.

The best alternative to Bitcoin for more serious anonymity in my opinion. Open source now, and the dev team has proven to be reliable over the long haul. That is a rarity in cryptos.
