I have collected thousands of GG coins as it was fun to mine, but the pricing at BTC does not look too appealing, wonder if the developer has any plan for this coin.

Yeah, no one will ever do a 51% attack on Geist, as there is simply nothing to double-spend on  . Heck, there's nothing to simple-spend on either !!! |

Got the source downloaded to my Ubuntu machine and compiled it successfully. Started the daemon and it started to download the blocks, but it stopped at 99.
Any ideas why?

The "Likely to be Geistnet?:" should be true. Try recompiling and using the default geist.conf without any changes, it should be OK. |

Hi,
I want to try this out. It seems strange though.... After all the configs are done... When the file "GeistGeld_Portable_Cons" is running it seems it is connecting to the server... Do I need also the regular GUI miner that came with files running also ?
Where do I know the hashing speed and how many coins rewarded are there ?

I am merge mining GG with around 200Mh/s. In the last 24h the balance reported by geistgeld-d getinfo didnt change at all. Blockcount does rise though (1016131). Diff is 0.936. Two connections. Whats up with that?
Also, The miner (cgminer) reports full speed, but p2pool merged mining randomly stays between 20 and 150 Mh/s. Which might or might not have anything to do with GG.
So, is GG still fully working? Is there a blockexplorer? I guess it takes the 120 confirmations for geists to be shown in -getinfo? Which should take less than half an hour anyway..
