I've been merge mining GG with my p2pool and have been getting blocks although the number has dropped significantly in the past day or two.  Two connections and currently at block 1016444.

I sort of have a block explorer running for GG.  It hasn't updated GG in a few days now since I had to move GG off to another box due high loads causing problems with p2pool mining.

Edit:  I'm starting to think looking at the numbers that I've not received any credit in the last 24 hours as well. Updating my block explorer for GG to find out what's going on.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

The GG wallet is currently using 1.5GB memory on my Linux machine. Can someone adjust the code to reduce the memory consumption drastically otherwise it becomes unfeasable to run it in the near future.

Or you could stop using it altogether...

Which appears to have happened. GG will be dropped from vircurex on April 14th.

It seems to work fine with merged mining, so I am still mining it alongside bitcoin, namecoin, groupcoin, devcoin, ixcion, i0coin and rucoin.

It looks like it should be quite useful as a game-currency.

An ever increasing number of games, since unlike most game-currency this is one the players can take home with them so they can take in to another game.

Why would the developers of the "another game" want that?

Still Bitcoin is equally good as a game currency and has the advantage of not being a dead currency.

In just a few days the GG wallet's memory consumption went up from 1.5GB to 2GB. Something is happening in the chain, no way of being able to support it under these circumstances.

I like GG but the problem is there seem to be no value left.   No point mining when you can buy tons for 1 BTC

GG is more of a proof-of-concept and toy for bleeding edge ideas. No currency to be used for shopping. I already gained a lot by merge-mining GG. Not in $ or BTC, but in knowledge about that whole crazy mining, mergemining, protocols and real-life obstacles.
There seem to be a low number of active nodes, not? A pitty!

32 bit?  yes....

but the block chain which loads into memory on Windows boxes is over 2gigs so windows daemon won't run any more.  Not sure if the 32-bit linux version has the same problem or not.  I stopped running it recently.

you won't be able to buy them soon.  Vircurex is removing them mid-April.

There are no other exchanges that I know of.

Coinbase for selling BTCs
Fold for spending BTCs
PM me with any questions on these sites/apps!  http://www.montybitcoin.com

or Vircurex for trading alt cryptocurrencies like DOGEs
CoinNinja for exploring the blockchain.

So, back to basics then? How about a two-year-revival of:

I'll pay 10,000 bitcoins geists for a couple of pizzas

I have never seen this before, Bulanula why is your ignore highlighted like that? Is it some sort of special ignore status?

Seriously, I am not trying to be funny, I have never seen that before your Ignore is highlighted and others are not. Is it just me?

or does everyone else see that too?
