This is true, a lot of block chains have actually emerged in the internet. As always people never change, despite the ease of earning money through cryptocurrencies, they still want an easy and illegal way to earn. That's why we need to be more mindful on the block chains that we want to use when we are dealing with our coins.Always ensuring safety in all transactions. There are alternative block chains really are coming out and many altcoins are also out in ICOs and Airdrops, but this things are always at our own risk. It is always up to us on how how we comprehend on whats going on with the market that we are into.

m usually a lurker in crypto groups and have exercised restraint when it comes to giveaways and airdrops of new altcoins. I work for a cybersecurity company and read a lot of scam and hacking stories. Safety and security in technical (IT) terms is not my strong suit. In general, when you do decide to install software for a new altcoin, I agree with the others who suggested using a separate machine. Especially for newbies like me, because we don't know how to look "under the hood" to check that malware or keylogger is not packaged with any new downloads and installs.

When i entered crypto, i actually use same username and passwords on some of the first sites that i signed up. Then one time it come to my senses that, what if i get hacked. All my accounts would be affected, an it wasnt good. Then i tried to change everything, starting on my email. And now i can say i can make a book out of my passwords and username. lol. Its better to be safe than sorry. But im making sure that i backed up all of that incase things would mess up.

This way security is assured, as no third parties are involve and no one holds the “keys”

Just never, never give a private key to anyone or under any circumstances, and also learn more about the company before investing. And there should not be problems

Excellent review by Gavin.many people definitely have doubt to invest on crypto and after again they might have doubts about the ICO and last doubt is about the hackers who try to attack the information. So, i recommend every one to be careful about malware attacks and lose of information cause by particular software. And always choose trusted ICO for investing.Do not give any secure information in any particular ICO before you trust it or even store that in your PC you are about to use to prevent malware attacks.

It is the best thread I have readed in the forum. Thanks for your post.
if you have a large amount of bitcoins on a given PC, being extra-cautious about third party software is need

This thread is still very much relevant, despite the fact that it's almost a decade. One needs to be extra careful, considering the prevalence of ICO and blockchain, some of this projects could be vulnerable and as such exposing us to cyber attacks.

The huge niche developed by Profede is the tokenization of the personal data of professionals, it is extremely important for the selection of personnel: agencies, business, enterprises !
Daox Project will obviously need to put a lot of effort to make their users feel safe, and this contest might be considered as a good start for that.

The only things I might add is that "use a different password" isn't limited to exchanges, but applies to forums, emails, and even pools

Having different and strong password on each site can be achieved by only one method: using a master password like lastpass. And master password is a huge security risk. To access a low-security site you need to put at risk all of your data.

I'd like to remind everyone that Gavin, with all due respect, is not an angry   deity and can neither drown people he vaguely disapproves of nor feed them to the lo(l)custs.

The blockchain is hosted by billions of computers around the world so that it is not controlled by any single person. Each process in the blockchain network owns a full copy of every transaction or movement of the data on the blockchain, it means that the details and history of the transaction are traced.Despite historically being used to handle financial transactions, the security and reliability of blockchain technology mean that it can be applied to other areas and industries. I think there are three benefits that blockchain technology can provide are an increase in security and trust, Reduced costs and accelerated transactions.
