Good advice.

Using an alternate cryptocurrency client would be a great way to get many people to install a hidden virus that targets Bitcoin users.

If you have a significant amount of Bitcoins, I wouldn't run other clients on the same computer until the alternates have developed trust over a longer period of time... I'm probably on the paranoid side of things though.

These new cryptocurrencies are interesting, and it will be fascinating to see how it will all play out.
Yes,there are many cryptocurrencies rolling out in the market.Even this HostGames, the trusted online casino gaming platform accepts major currencies like btc, eth, and now even nCash..

In our generation many people establish their own alternative cpins company but we should be careful to this because some people used this modus in order to deceive and scam the money of other people.
That's true ...But there are genuine platforms coming up these days such as HostGames where you can be the host of your own mini casino free of cost....if you are interested in fantasy gaming though

If i have a large amount of bitcoins i will download part of it to offline wallet then trade with the remaining at top 5 exchanges based on users reviews and my research and will be extra-cautious about third party software especially software that is free to install

ce posts what I see and great subject to be sheltered in altcoins. On the off chance that you read the whitepaper and test the code what the altcoin has, than you can lear a great deal about it. June first we are propelling another task Dcorp.it (in the event that you need I would be glad to educate all the more regarding it) yet we focust on transparanty in each conceivable way. That is one of the importants things I would take a gander at when to put resources into another task. Myself I put resources into Mobilego they raist in excess of 40 million. Good fortunes!

A while back ago I got into PRINTEX it was pow and now is pos/masternode I have to say i am very impressed with the direction this coin is going. They are unifying Blockchain with the printing industry and making easy for people to order and customize their gear [t-shirts, hats, sweaters etc.] and are also working on releasing a 3D printing platform. Currently 64 day ROI!!! and price for a node at a great entry price. check them out for yourself!

I haven't seen anybody post about what would be my biggest worry if I were trying out alternative block chains. I realize this may be perceived as "Gavin is FUD'ding anything that isn't bitcoin!"  (FUD == Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt)  But I think some of you might be forgetting some basic computer security fundamentals in the excitement to be early adopters.

When I first heard about bitcoin, my questions were:

1) Can it possibly work (do the ideas for how it works make sense)?
2) Is it a scam?
3) If it is not a scam, could it open my computer up to viruses/trojans if I run it?

I answered those questions by:

1) Reading and understanding Satoshi's whitepaper.  Then thinking about it for a day or two and reading it again.
2) Finding out everything I could about the project.  I read every forum thread here (there were probably under a hundred threads back then) and read Satoshi's initial postings on the crypto mailing list.
3) Downloaded and skimmed the source code to see if it looked vulnerable to buffer overflow or other remotely exploitable attacks.

If I were going to experiment with an alternative block-chain, I'd go through the same process again. But I'm an old conservative fuddy-duddy.

If you want to take a risk on a brand-new alternative block-chain, I'd strongly suggest that you:

1) Run the software in a virtual machine or on a machine that doesn't contain anything valuable.
2) Don't invest more money or time than you can afford to lose.
3) Use a different passphrase at every exchange site.

A few people just have one PC and that must suck. Luckily I have various so I can utilise a portion of my alt-mine workers to do this securely.

You know I was not thinking in this direction at all, but I have always had my fears with these new blockchains, having more than one computer is the best solution for those with large amount of Bitcoins, using one solely for Bitcoin and the other for others, also using the same passwords exposes us to these bad guys, it's safer to use different passwords for different stuffs.

The simple blockchain is a data structure that cannot be changed only can be added. Every data from this blockchain is connected to each other where if there is a change in one block of data it will affect the next data.

It is very hard to find exciting blockchains projects I find now, There are so many new ones offering "ever increasing TPS" which I feel a lot of these may be vapour ware. Lips sealed Lips sealed

I think the "can it possibly work?" question is so often ignored. A lot of these new ICOs are delusional with their promises and as long as their website looks pretty, people seem to throw money at it.

i think that there are too many alternative blockchains today. maybe, people should stop creating them. but instead develop the ones that we have now, so they would work properly.

all types of money blockchains are to a certain extent risky. Risk one of the business function.
If you want to take all the risks of your life. Blockchains are not scam, it works. But you must be competent in the security issues.
