Hi guys,

I would like to sell my NEM stake, but I only have an office laptop so can't install the NXT client. Is there maybe a webclient through which I can acces the AE?

My NEM stake is otherwise also for sale directly for the highest buy order on the AE. So if anyone is interested, my NEM stake is for sale for 19.000 NXT or 2 BTC at the moment. Can be more or less depending on the AE value. PM me if interested!

Not dropping my interest in NEM but just in need of money at the moment, will buy back in later and support the community cause I strongly believe in this coin.

You can try to use my public node at http://217.17.88.5:7876

Wouldn't this be a security risk to access the wallet and
send the pass phrase over a non secure (http) connection?

Btw: Do you know where I can find a list of public NXT
nodes also those that are available trough HTTPS?
Thanks.

I don't know any public nodes for nxt but https isn't really your biggest worry there. You're basically entering your passphrase on a website hosted by a 3rd party. Encrypted or not that always houses a bit of a risk.

You may be right, but i would guess that the key creation process will stay nearly the the same in alpha, beta and final version. I plan a package that will enable everybody to create this vouchers and as i am not a pro dev it will take some of my time. The key creation process will hopefully not change that much so it can be prepared now which will give me some more time for the graphics later on and i will be able to test my first results on the beta.

Actually we're considering one change, but I'll ansewer you on PM anyway

@ gimre thanks a lot, i don't want to hurry, pls. take your time
@ kodtycoon  everything fine, tnx !  Smiley

1. curve is secp256k1
2. public key is "compressed" (there's byte 02 or 03 byte used instead of encoding full Y, Y can be retrieved from X and that 02/03 byte)

encoding public key (PK):
1. d1 = sha3(PK)
2. d2 = ripe160(d1)
3. d3 = concat(version, d2),  version byte for alpha is 0x98
4. chk = 4 first bytes of sha3(d3)
5. d4 = concat(d3, chk)
6. Base32encode(d4)

I tried translating this but google doesn't recognise the language  Grin

How's the closed alpha coming along? Any horrendous bugs reared their ugly heads?

Define horrendous Smiley
So far NIS is still the main subject of testing as NCC is not done yet.
Gimre and Bloddyrookie are working everyday to get everything working stable. Other devs would have probably said "screw it good enough for alpha" but that's not how our core-devs role Wink

As I'm writing this we hit 3046 blocks Smiley

What kind of blockchain cache size are we looking at for the local client? Thinking about the mobile version and if a standalone app is created does it need to cheat blockchain storage like mycillium.

edit: nxt is currently at 319mb for client/cache

QORA could be a good coin I see NXT pattern repeating there with similar issues at early stage.
NEM developers have different approach, in phases, which I like.
1st design 2nd implement and test then 3rd test and debug then release
almost all other coin developers do the opposite
they 1st release coin and then make test debug on live blockchain  Lips sealed

I doubt Qora can remotely succeed the same way. Situation has changed. If Qora leave the scene tomorrow, Qora die off in a month.

Qora is a 2ND gen, build from scratch coin, the only one with NXT and eXo is joining them soon. It makes sense that 2nd gen is the future of cryptoworld.

Hi all NEM public IRC channel now is #ournem. #nemcoin is held hostage by an evil entity so we are moving.

The IRC channel would feature 24/24 consultation service plus live discussion during Alpha testing. I will be parking there when I am online.

My public node now uses self signed SSL. It runs on Android TV stick in virtual Ubuntu on it. Is it unsecure?
OK, I understand, there is only a trust question. In any way, I run it with ports 7875 and 7876 which is open for old NRS and Wesleyh GUI.

Perfect, that will help, thanks! Will the base32 use special alphabet? private key will be 32byte int? and is there already a wallet import format defined for the private key, will it be base32 or base58 encoded?

A Wallet allows for adding an existing NEM account. The account has to be identified by the private key, which has to be provided as the hex representation.
The walet API is provided by NCC and is REST-based.

Will the NEM client have multilingual support? Multiple language support is important.

"Globally, consumers are spending an estimated $694 billion online this year, according to Common Sense Advisory [1]. Approximately 96 percent of global consumers live outside of the United States [2], and 70 percent of global Web users visit websites in their own language [3]. According to research firm IDC, web users are four times more likely to make a purchase from a company if the company communicates in the buyers language."
www.marketwired.com/press-release/lingotek-devzone-expands-with-new-integrations-1914588.htm

yes!!!! 100%.. this is a must! even if its just english and chinese at first! then move on to spanish and french!

Language size: http://www.ethnologue.com/statistics/size

I'd like to see language size stats for people with computers.

This chart is from Yappn, they provide real-time multilingual translation (70 languages).

as i was fighting to buy next yesterday at 95 i was wondering if i was up against others trying to get another stake of NEM as well. Maybe nem is causing nxt s recent jump in price?. either way hopefully some one sells me a second stake now that next went up 20% so has my offer!! I think a good idea is when we sell some of our nem stakes to sell them to some of our friends that might not yet be into crypto, instead of just selling them off on the exchange. For instance i could set my friend up with an android account on his phone and sell him some nem for cash instead of just selling it on the exchange to ppl that are already involved in crypto. Less nem on the exchange equals i higher price so when you do sell for cash and refer to the exchange the price will be higher. Then we have a bunch of ppl running around with pockets full of nem and savvy merchants will want to take advantage of that. If each nem stakeholder sold 100 box worth to 10 ppl we would have 30000 new crypto users that only use nem. Grin

Yes, it has and it is. NEMstake is by far the #1 most traded asset on the AE. Utopian even caused a mini-NXT pop in the days leading up to the first and abandoned NEMstake listing.
