Wasn't it supposed to self tune for max HR based on feedback from the on-die temp sensor, or am I imagining things again?

The temp sensor does work, check out the cgminer output instead of the (filtered) webinterface.

PS: I'm thinking that the first device hashing at.... 12 Mh (lol) is the CPU of the Raspberry Pi... 

The 1st device is also the BabyJet. You probably unplugged the usb cable and plugged it back in when cgminer was running or something.

There is no setup guide included as mentioned. It took me a bit to figure out, but it ships with a "MinePeon" which is basically a raspberry pi host software for mining rigs. After finding this out, I located Mine Peon's website which had the default log in information... it would have been nice not to have to hunt for this but I guess I figured it out.

There is no wireless.. you need to have a switch/router/hub if you ordered a lot of these and Ethernet cables.

Setup Guide:

1. Plugin the Ethernet and power into the raspberry pi. Connect the provided USB cord from the pi to the back of the baby jet.
2. Turn on the power on the back of the baby jet.
3. Log into your router to find the IP (I think it uses DHCP, so yours will probably be different but in my case it was 192.168.0.12) it will be labeled as "MinePeon".
4. Point your browser to the pi's IP address
5. Log in using the username minepeon and password peon
5a. The password AND username are case sensitive.
6. Edit your pool information in the MinePeon software by clicking on the "Pools" tab, hit submit and you're good to go!

Has anyone seen a difference between the cgminer reported hashrate and pool reported?

Cgminer shows a steady 500GH for me at 650mhz but btcguild says around ~455gh.

Cgminer is showing me 422GH/s at stock speeds. Eligius shows < 400GH/s.

Where do you go to adjust the clock speed? I haven't been able to figure out if it's a cgminer option or somewhere else in the firmware.

I haven't tried overclocking yet.  Luckily, I had a switch on hand so the lack of wifi is not going to be a problem for me. 

KILL-A-WATT with default clock gives me 412 watts at the wall.

how do you overclock? and how do you launch cgminer?  the only thing i know how to do is access the web GUI by IP from another computer.

Has anybody skipped the Raspberry Pi and simply plugged it into a desktop running cgminer?  Or better yet, cgminer for mac?

The other one is giving out USB send errors like crazy it only mines at 200gh/s half of intended speed.

Whats the highest someone has overclocked this and what are your temps? I remember back in the bringup simon had it up to 700mhz clock.

hmm... cgminer and the minepeon GUI both show around ~420GH.  in slush pool it says 363327.926 mhash.  with "Average hashrate in last 10 rounds: 180007 Mhash/s"
whats with the discrepancy?  also im getting returns slower than i thought.  1.5 more hours to go and im at my first 24 hours of mining with the babyjet and still havent gotten 0.1 btc yet.  someone on the email thread mentioned getting close to 0.2 btc a day.

400 gh/s should give about BTC0.11 a day, until the next difficulty jumpy.

Mining pools are known to report inaccurate hash rates. This is because they do not average results or even monitor them. It takes snap shots from specific points in time which have no relation to your actual output. It's a good indication, but certainly not a real-time gauge of your productivity.

wtf happened here?  i went to the gym, and then lunch and came back to this.



i just rebooted the miner and its working fine again but i cant keep monitoring it.

Two problem machines that won't hash - One the web interface doesn't work at all, when I try to connect with a web browser it immediately gives up trying to connect and says "This webpage is not available" in chrome or "unable to connect" in firefox.  It is not hashing, I can ssh in to it but that's it.

Other machine web interface works but says "No devices running" in status screen, hard reboot has not helped.

Oh and I have a 3rd one down now - the rasberry pi device keeps going red on me, shutting itself down for no apparent reason
