That's the same as the one I just posted, but I only posted the firmware, not the tools.

Thanks for the info. And for probably making them release something at last (?)

This link now contains a newer firmware for those who have tried the previous one:
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/temp/uc3.cropped.hfu

Found and debugged some more issues in cgminer and it should be much better with multiple devices attached at once in git, so I'm just trying to fine tune that before the 4.0.1 release.

Thx Ckolivas, I just noticed on cgminer 4.0 (compiled from git 2/26/14@6pm PST) when the diff hits 512 the hashrate drops too >200ghs Then when the diff goes back to 256 the hashrate goes back to <500. However on the Cgminer3.9.h2 it does not it will go from 500 to  460 ghs when hit with the same difficulty . Are these any custom mods from HF that can be ported to 4.x code?

Hi,
My BJ was working fine about 25 days, and starting from today, raspberry pi keeps restarting every minutes, so in reality it stopped working. I don't know what caused the reboot, hardware, cgminer or the pi it's self. From the monitor, it can be any time, even last second it's hashing and received and accepted share, then suddenly rebooted.

Has anybody have the same issue. How should I diagnose this issue? Thank you very much for the help!

It turned out for me, an unstable pool can keep my pi rebooting. After switched back to eligius everything recovered. The first time I learnt that. Also thank you for all your help, I really appreciate. The reason I want to use the pi instead of my computer is everything is setup on pi, monitoring, watch dog, user interface etc. I don't bother to make a full system working...

Also since the SD card has limited writes, can I just burn the image into a hard drive, so I can have the whole system running on a dedicated computer? Thanks!

Looks to me like you desperately need new firmware.

Today was another hot day in git land, so there was a period of instability. Hope to have the next version released tomorrow if no bugs show up overnight here.

Does this one work with boards that are rev. 1.1?

Did anybody else receive an E-Mail from hashfast with a 0.4 RC? Is this the same 0.4 posted earlier by ckolivas, or the newer one posted by ck just before? Or even newer 0.4?

Quote
A Hashfast firmware update version 0.4 final release candidate is now
available.  This exact binary will most likely will be announced and
distributed as the official release in the coming days.

As you may have been experiencing issues that may be fixed by this
update, we are providing you with early access. Please find the
attached  gzip binary for Linux systems.

This has been tested on 32 and 64 bit Ubuntu as well as Raspberry PI ArchLinux.

We ask that you only apply this to systems with critical performance
issues at this time. We also ask that you do not distribute or post
this package elsewhere.

In the coming days we expect to begin offering a one-click upgrade
through our custom Raspberry PI MinePeon image. Right now we also do
have an option for updating via a special dedicated Raspberry Pi image
for those customers who are not set up with a Linux environment.

Please let us know your experience with this package so we can provide
feedback to our developers.

Thanks for your patience,

Avram C
Hashfast Technical Support.

Anybody got a copy of the gzip binary that they could share?

Cheesy

Actually, my BabyJet is hashing about 400 GH/s when overclocked between 600 MHz and 612 MHz. It would probably be more, but it keeps disconnecting every 10 - 20 minutes. Fortunately, the hotplug feature in cgminer 4.0.0 finds it again within seconds.

I've Emailed HashFast a couple of times about the Pi. My latest Email was about simply sending me a firmware loader.

All of this has given me a chance to brush-up on my *nix skills. I haven't messed with this stuff in 20+ years... It's actually been kinda fun. Twenty years ago, there was no such thing as github...

Can we get some reviews here on the new firmware and cgminer?

I have 3.12.0 running stably and hashing 425-435 at 600 clock speed.

Any reason to upgrade?

So far, it seems like maybe if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Mine is running with rasperry py at 615 which gives me 460 at the pool. With 660 I get more than 500 at the pool, but thats not stable. Hope with the new firmware we get more OC potential ...

There's nothing in the new firmware that is likely to do that...

@ckolivas: Since I upgraded the firmware to 0.4RC (from you) and 0.4RCx (from Hashfast) cgminer (all versions, didn't try 4.01 yet) can't see my babyjet anymore (I'm on Windows 7)

Is this a known problem with cgminer on Windows or should it work / am I doing it wrong?

Edit: I just tried 4.01 with Ubuntu 64, worked right from the start.

@To all the people hoping for firmware miracles: Both firmware releases didn't fix anything for me, in fact it hashes a little bit slower with the new F/W. Overclockability seems the same. IMO, if your BJ is hashing ok & is more or less stable, you should wait for the official release from HF.
