Ethereum is always a safe  bank. In the past i uses some Ether for ICOs, but now i will never touch them for that kind of things. Holdl and let them grow.

Ethereum on new highs? Where would it end.
Ethereum gained quite a bit of traction through the last few days, with ETH/USD markets reaching prices above $700 today as trading volumes for the currency keep exploding while traders show support for historic highs.

It won't end in the short term. Yes, it will drop some, it will be stable some but there is still too much area to grow.

1000$ - 2000$ and more.

We are still early adapters.

I can feel your pain mate, I also invested most of the Ethereum that I had in ICO's. I bought pretty cheap so I thought it was a good way to realize my profits when they went up to $300, but in the end I made a loss with those investments.
ICO investments are likely to drop as soon as they ICO tokens hit the exchange and then you become a bag holder and wish you had held on to your Ethereum.
The Ether that I still got, will stay in my wallet for a very long time, I wont spend that on some silly ICO, thats for sure!

Ethereum wallet service, MyEtherWallet, found itself amidst controversy on December 10, 2017, because of a fake mobile wallet app pretending to be affiliated wit it. The rogue app went unnoticed for long enough to become the third most-downloaded app in the Finance section of the iOS App Store.MyEtherWallet.com officially tweeted soon after, denouncing the app’s legitimacy and requesting the community to report the incident to Apple. The developer of the fake $4.99 app appears to be Nam Le, but that could easily be an alias. It is evident by now that this was a poorly concealed attempt to cash in on the digital currency hype.Even with Apple’s tight grip over which apps enter the App Store though, it is no secret that a few dubious and sometimes outright fraudulent applications manage to sneak in on occasion. In that vein, it is also worth noting that Apple has been rather prompt to remove apps that have been found to be dangerous.

yes i agree with that this will not end here i think its just not even start
in 2017 start bitcoin price was less then 1000$ and in the end of 2017 above 17000$
now eth is right now on the same state where bitcoin was last year
i am thinking if eth will up 10000$ in the end of 2018 december then? what if my prediction is right
i think eth is gonna beat the bitcoin in marketing but very difficult to in price
lets see what gonna happen in 2018

Great idea, Ethereum was left behind because bitcoin has increase a lot this year and it was still stable at $300 - $400, good thing that it started to pump now and I think there is still plenty of time left this year to take the price to $1,000, if this will happen, I am sure more people will buying and holding ETH for their future, it might follow the success of bitcoin.

wow eth's price cross all time high value
and now i think its price is stable but my point of view eth price should be more then 1500$ right now
because lite coin and bitcoin price boost
my trade experience is that eth will be up 1000$ before 2018 start
if i am right then all the eth based token will also go up
and more peoples are now using crypto around the world
and i think eth is the best choice

With the recent price increase of this coin and even the other altoins are in green, I could say that #altsareback now!  Grin . My belief for this coin has never faltered even from the recent bull run of BTC. Yes, the price of ETH was affected by the recent run of Bitcoin but as you can see, it is recovering already. This is just a cycle and we can expect more from this. ETH will definitely follow BTC's price and that is a very good thing for those who bought at the bottom. Hold your ETH and wait for it to go moon again. Just be patient and you'll be rewarded by this coin in the long run.

i get flak for mining ETH instead of Monero with the vega 64s
kids....
looking ahead pays

bitcoin is controlled by bitmain and now fixed by the money printing gazzillion in derivatives banksters

the day ETH enters any fiat leveraged market like the CME im out

non ASIC is the way

to mine or not to mine,

Im also planning to buy a vega 64s, so you say its profitable to mine Ethereum with it? I was going to mine Monero, but I would also rather mine Ethereum. I've never mined before, but want to get into it as soon as possible. Unfortunately all decent GPU's in my country were sold out, but now I can get a vega 64s from a private purchase.

Hi,

I have a few questions that I hope you will answer.

1. What is the difference between Ethereum-Wallet-installer-0-9-3.exe and Mist-installer-0-9-3.exe wallets?
2. Who do you recommend installing?
3. How can I make sure that the 260GB database /blockchain/ is not uploaded to the main disk C, but to another disk?
4. Can not the database /blockchain/ be uploaded to any disk at all, but use remote nodes like Monero?

Thanks!

Hi DStefanov!

Your interesting question got lost into all the ATH celebrations  Wink

1. EthereumWallet is just a Wallet when Mist is a dApp explorer including a wallet among with the possibility to browse most of the dApp out there.

2. It depends on what you're planning to do. If you just need a wallet, EthereumWallet is good enough but I can only advise you to try browsing some dApps (verifying that they are legit first) to get an idea of the power the ETH network has (and will have). Mist can be quite buggy sometimes so you can also use Metamask which is a Chrome plugin allowing you to browse some dApps right with Chrome. Or you can use Brave which is an open-source web browser with native integration of Metamask.

3. During the installation, you will have to chose where to store the chaindata folder. Consider using an SSD rather than an HDD and please note that the chaindata folder will rather be around 35 GB with a fresh sync. Remember to erase the chaindata folder (SAVE THE KEYSTORE FOLDER BEFORE DOING THAT!!) from time to time in order to resync in --fast mode (and save some space).

4. You can use an online wallet provider, but then you will have to rely on a third party node (like with the remote nodes in Monero). You can try Parity or MyEtherWallet for example (but beware of the phishing sites when Googling it).

Hello,

I am looking for a website like coinmarketcap, where you can see the price per eth instead of per BTC or USD (in the charts).
Does such a website exist? If so, can someone please link me?

I trade Bitcoin and I trade Litecoin and I hold Ethereum (mostly)...
I trade those because they pump like crazy and I want to ride those...
But with Ethereum I dont WANT a "pump" I want it to grow like 10% a month for like the next 4 years.
Ethereum has the foundation and fundamentals. In an ideal world it grows while the others pump....

2018 is new year of Ethereum. it become more usefully, price around 2500 usd Grin Grin Grin

Dont worry, you are still early. Ethereum has had a nice run this year, an insane run to be precise, but this is only the beginning. Next year will be awesome for Ethereum!

I expect ETH to reach four figures anytime soon, maybe before the end of the year.

You're picking em wrong then, mate! I also invested a good deal in a few ICOs, and most of those have realized profit already (at least, enough to cover losses from other tokens) Still though, unless the ones you invested in turned out be scams, just hold those tokens until they get a product out. You never know when something might cause token price pump. https://icostats.com/roi-since-ico

Check out SpankChain, shits on fire right now. I went in heavy on that project, and am so freaking happy I did!
