http://www.newsbtc.com/2016/08/25/ethereum-receives-new-wallet-release-integration-coinbase-buy-widget/The Ethereum Foundation, the main entity behind the development of the Ethereum protocol, made available a new version of the cryptocurrency's wallet and Distributed application's browser, Mist. The main new feature of this Ethereum Wallet release is the inclusion of the Coinbase Buy Widget (a quick FIAT gateway that allows the instant purchasing of up to $5 worth in cryptocurrency ). The Coinbase buy widget has been making its way into several services and apps, like Decentral’s multi-wallet Jaxx. For now, the offer is limited to United States residents, and the widget requires the creation of a Coinbase account for first-time clients, Alex Van de Sande, lead designer for the Ethereum foundation, said: As Coinbase adds more markets, they will be added to the wallet, and we are looking into how we can use their bank transfers integration to allow unlimited daily amounts. We are not getting any fees or compensation for this (unlike our ShapeShift affiliate program which sends about 0.25-0.4% to the Ethereum Tip Jar) but we are very excited to see another adoption barrier being taken down. We thank the Coinbase team for their help making this a reality.

Though it works out to be 3% above the market price. Fluctuations in BTC cash price are the key component to watch out for

The real noteworthy aspect of the Coinbase listing is: Will it produce a larger consolidation of Ethereum holdings towards the European and the American regions in the long run.

ETH goes to POS miners wont be needed anymore. the diff bomb was implimented so devs are forced to code faster and acomplish POS? to get rid of miners ?

A lot of strange posts on the ANN today, strange even by normal standards for bitcointalk ETC trolls:
The duration of POW period is: 18 million ETH, which finishes in Feb 2017!
This was in the crowdfunding prospectus, written out in internet articles and even appeared in journalistic articles by David Seaman at the Huffington Post.
How can anybody, unless they are a newbie, not have known this?

Vitalik discussed about phased process of introducing the PoS. So the Pow will last longer than expected.

Vitalik discussed about phased process of introducing the PoS. So the Pow will last longer than expected. Seems, strange for a Newbie account, to be making up stuff and posting it on this ANN! What you are referring to - was the discussion about an early POS. There was an active campaign, by some investors to bring in an early POS this Autumn and they argued the Ethereum Foundation could use the shortfall in the max supply to instigate higher POS rewards for a couple of years. Therefore, you are confused by campaign groups lobbying for an early POS and the developers reticence (unwillingness) to bring the GPU POW too an end earlier, without upsetting these investors. As you can see from this article on this blog: http://cryptomining-blog.com/7401-ethereum-hardforking-to-homestead-at-block-1150000/Even those guys were expecting GPU POW to finish early - even in February 2016 that group was promoting an ending too GPU POW as soon as possible. And, from what I was reading, I did think GPU POW was going to be ending in September! Yes, you are not alone, in being confused by it
