Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked  Cool

https://www.ethnews.com/bank-of-russia-establishes-fintech-association

On December 28, 2016, the Bank of Russia approved the decision to establish an association for Financial Technology Development (Fintech Association). The association will consist of a governing body that includes founding members such as Alfa Bank, VTB Bank, JSC National System of Payment Cards, along with a supervisory board and chief executive officer.

How does this effect Ethereum?

In October 2016, the Bank of Russia and its largest banks ran a test Ethereum-based prototype for financial messaging called “Masterchain.” The platform provides secure confirmation of customer transactional data, provides banking affiliates with state-of-the-art products and services, and speeds up transaction confirmation times. The adoption of an Ethereum-based, country-wide solution could turn heads in the FinTech industry and assist Ethereum with securing a foothold in Russia and other countries.

S7 Airlines and Alfa Bank Test Blockchain for B2B Payment in Russia

Recently, Alfa Bank has collaborated with S7 Airlines to test an execution of service payment transactions using smart contracts deploying Blockchain technology.

Alfa Bank provided the participants of the deal with special facilities through its Alfa-Business Online electronic system. Using this system the customer applies for the opening of the letter of credit, and the contractor then submits all necessary documentation upon finalizing of service delivery to the bank. Once the application for opening the letter of credit has been submitted, funds can be withdrawn from the customer’s account and first transferred to a special transition account and later to the contractor’s account.

Key steps of the deal – opening and closing of the letter of credit – have been performed as transactions deploying smart contracts using the Ethereum platform, and were registered in the distributed ledger. Records in the distributed ledger contain a hash of the following information: deal’s identification codes, type of services, and terms and conditions. This allows for all participants of the deal to check its status at any time

Yelp, they are really bright bunch in Russia.

They really, don't need anyone's help. LOL

fresh fiat through btc is good, if 1btc is worth over $1000 then 1ETH is easily worth $50 minimum..... Shocked

also the fresh new btc money will trickle into the alts (with ETH top of the list) and if btc dumps then alts will fly...either way its a great time to be in crypto  Smiley

Bitcoin Explodes Higher As Chinese Money Market Liquidity Collapses

As one veteran trader noted “something is very broken.“ After a massive short-squeeze stronger in offshore yuan during the day session, overnight yuan deposit rates have exploded 31.5 percentage points higher to 45% - just shy of the record highs - as China's liquidity crisis is front-and-center. At the same time, coincidence or not, Bitcoin has gone vertical, smashing through previous record highs.

The People's Bank of China injected CNY10 billion via seven-day reverse repos and skipped 14-day reverse repos at its open-market operations Thursday, according to traders.

The moves resulted in a net drain of CNY140 billion for the day.
The central bank has removed CNY435 billion in liquidity at OMMOs so far this week.

Utter desperation for liquidity has prompted deposit rates to explode.....

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-makes-history-reaches-gold-parity/
Reaching gold parity is an historical milestone for the eight-year-old digital currency which has grabbed the world’s imagination since its invention, spurring thousands of likewise blockchains, with the most prominent, Ethereum, which extends the capabilities of this new invention to that of fully programmable money.

If it maintains it, the event will probably be seen as the tipping point as the permissionless, decentralized, cost efficient, limited, programmable money, which even the United States government accepts cannot be shut down and a member of Trump’s administration states is “not manipulatable by any government,” finally announces its arrival on the world stage, regardless of what price now does.

Just, thought I'd put up some information about the difficulty increases that may occur when block 3,500,000 is reached at the beginning of April 2017.

Currently, there is a proposal submitted too Ethereum Foundation to replace difficulty increase (delay in block find times) with a tapering of block rewards (e.g. 5 ETH is reduced to 4 ETH, which is reduced again and again down to 1 ETH over time) too maintain the speed at which transactions are added to the blockchain.

April/May 2017

25seconds

1.4 months = 518,400 Eth per month

35 seconds

2.2 months = 370,285 Eth per month

55seconds

3.8 months = 235,636 Eth per month

95seconds

26 months = 136,421 Eth per month

After 2021, is when a theoretical Ice Age would begin.

Naturally, increasing difficulty and slowing block find times would reduce the speed at which transactions are added to the blockchain. However, this is all provisional on the Casper-POS being delivered towards the last quarter of 2017 or first quarter of 2018.

And, VB has hinted recently, that Casper-POS testing is going better, than previous public releases have led the markets too infer.

I saw the proposal to change the block reward to 2, from 1.5 previously.

Great read.  Maybe a bit hopeful, but otherwise I'd hedge towards accurate Cheesy 2017 gonna be good for crypto all around tho. I'm stoked

Similarly, he is expecting Casper-POS implementation this year:

"Three simultaneously developing avenues for Ethereum scalability are state channels such as Raiden, Vlad Zamfir’s proof-of-stake solution, Casper, and Sharding. I foresee Raiden integrating with Ethereum and Casper live on Ethereum in 2017."

When do we expect the next ETHF dump? Is it time for some leveraged ETHF sell and ETHC buy?

Well, the current view is: that they will switch their mining rigs onto Ethereum Network and wait until they have mined enough ETH too affect market price and then dump LOL
