I like that the ethereum not so much in percentage as other coins and the fact that the team is constantly working on a project

If they change PoW algorithm to be more ASIC avert, then the price of ETH could rise again.
Bitmain will delivery their miner product on July, and if Ethereum change algorithm to be more ASIC avert, so what problem will happen with buyer and Bitmain  Huh

This extended bearish trend was so strong that nothing stayed in front of it to face it. We should expect good times ahead but for the moment Ethereum is sitting on more stable floor and this is important. We shouldn't expect anything better until market shows good uptrend for few days continuously. Ethereum is holding almost bottom and this is enough to be happy now.

I am more about long term investing than jumping on the next hype train. i have a strong position in ethereum right now. I wonder if this year ETH could reach $ 1500?

Well,

There is a huge amount of fresh data from Monero and Crypotnight7 coming in every day - who introduced a fork to introduce new anti-ASIC measures on April 6th.

From the numbers being seen: it appears the people who bought ASICs for the cryptonight algorithm appear to own little or no Monero coins.

Yes, those people who bought those ASICs miners were simply looking to convert out into dollars, pounds, yuans, euros, etc.

It looks like, this will be true for Ethereum as well - the people who bought Antminer E3 don't own any Ethereum and are looking to convert out into dollars, pounds, yuans, euros, etc.

Buying ASICs on any network without developer approval is at the buyer's own risk!

The bulls attempted to break out of the tight range but prices could not sustain the higher levels. As a result, Ethereum has again fallen into the    range market value.  Considering the strong downtrend, we shall wait for the cryptocurrency  center left pre center center pre left center to break out of the descending channel before proposing any trades.

In my opinion, the idea of giving most coins to the investors, instead of miners, is just plain stupid. This is not the proper way to distribute a currency. It is not fair.

I wonder what are you thinking about this now?
Vitalik Buterin outstripped his time and changed the world of crypto currency.
It's very funny that some 4 years ago, everything was completely different.
Soon the era of mining will end.

V is more like a young Bm, although their age is similar, but looking at the recent spiritual leader of BCH, Crag, in the Twitter, V, I see the way Bm looks like Bitshares in 2013.

Being a long term hodler of ETH, i think the recent asic debate should be ignored.
We always knew from day one, that ETH was going to pos.
My first posts here over 2year ago, was because i wanted into the ETH pos system.
Hopefully sometime this year the transition may start.
There is no point writing new code and HF to prevent new asics that wont last more than 12months.

If for any reason, pos/hybrid pos is a long way off and asics do become an issue, then the new code could be put into the next planned update on the roadmap.
Not a HF specifically for removing asics today.

Also check out whats happening to xmr now...
On April 6 the privacy-centric cryptocurrency monero (XMR) forked the protocol in order to make the digital asset’s mining ecosystem egalitarian. However, the hard fork has led to the birth of four monero-based blockchain branches all claiming to be the “original monero.”
https://news.bitcoin.com/privacy-coin-xmr-splits-into-four-different-monero-protocols/

After reading this and observing from the sidelines,
i feel there should should be no fork for asics.

Keep up the excellent work team ETH  Kiss Kiss Kiss

ETH's reform is very difficult. V God said the total ETH to be capped, later said in jest. ETH is still a community.

You can't set up a fork unless you have a large amount of Monero coins already - it is just FUD!

Basic crypto-economics - you cannot finance the abandoned blockchain via selling off the bigger entity to buy dumped coins in the smaller entity.

Also, Mrpumperitis you accidentally included a proof, which justifies an immediate fork to introduce anti-ASIC measures onto the Ethereum Network's algorithm.

ASICs arrive in July 2018, an early fork in April or May 2018 eliminates the possibility of people using the abandoned blockchain to make a new coin, because waiting for 2/3 months for your ASICs to arrive would be an extremely expensive way to salvage a speculative ASIC equipment purchase.

And, you need to listen to one of the Core Developers meetings, Ethereum Network is doing soft forks and hard forks on a regular basis.

First Impressions:

It could be an error!

OR

The original batch was already sold out.

The units they had left, were limited to one per customers as a Public Relations Promotion. Grab some news feed reporting.

Now, unlimited orders have been opened up to customers - $1800 per unit.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5,000 units per batch or 900GHs total, 3.5% increase in mining difficult per batch shipment.

Looks like 2 batches per month, which is 7% reduction in mining earnings per month.

Pow to change the Pos consensus is the scheme, piecewise governance is the solution, but a software project, large enough, enough logic, it is better to redo one than one.

I dont see etc, BCH or many of the other coins forked recently (some with $bill caps) being fud...they are real. Basic crypto-economics .
They serve a community and a purpose....
There were asic miners, fpga miners and gpu miners on xmr afiak....3 dif groups of miners, now 1 is excluded.
yes so what if they need a large amount already, thats why they enjoy a fork to get even more for free.

Back to eth,
Firstly i wouldn't advise anyone to buy asics for a coin that has had a pos switch planned from near day1 and we are very close to getting to that part of the roadmap this year.

Another thing if eth forks to rid off asics, the new changes could also have asics in the future, but they wont say or sell them to the public.

If people want to use the old chain ,they can, its happened before, it could happen again.
ETH roadmap continues.
