Damn this is a good way of making 51 attacks obsolete because controlling 99% of nodes is almost next to impossible.

Ethereum price crashing hard.. looks like the failure of the current state of dapps + inability of ethereum network to handle a few games really forced the market to a reality check.

Vitalik, what did you decide about sharding? Is it the best way to achieve scaleability? Will you implement it in Ethereum network?

We now have no one "main net" with sharding technology and people are still doubting a bit. Thank you.

Vitalik was last active on this forum more than 2 years ago so he is not following this topic anymore. You asked this question at wrong place there are so many ways exist to raise this question like Twitter if you really want to know about this.

https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin

i know, i want to try to provoke him asking question, who knows, maybe he still reading his thread. Would be great if yes and if he come back here.

That is not happening on ETH only, most of the ETH tokens have drop more than 100% from its all time high.
If bitcoin falls, then don't expect that ETH will rise, we know the dominant rate of bitcoin and its been dominating the entire crypto while increasings its dominance.

But in one of his tweet he's claiming that he isn't came up with consensus algorithm, he just transcripted another guy's paper, that's also why I like Vitalik, he doesn't take merits on other people's works

I think what is going on with ETH is basically what happened with ETH back in 2017.

People were buying ETH like crazy to invest in ICOs. Millions upon millions were invested and brought ETH from $7 to $1400 in a short period.

Now its basically the opposite. People lost 90% of their investment from those ICOs and they are doing the opposite, selling their crap ICO back for ETH and either keeping the ETH or selling it for BTC or fiat.

Hence the reason why there was a huge alt coin drop last weeks and BTC also suffered as a result of this.

Yes, that's why many people are joining without researching and now they are selective in investment because after finding the good project only they are investing into the ICO. So we have to be very careful when investing in the ICO and always have to check the potential of the project and their teams.

I think a lot of the Ethereum drop is also because hundreds of ICOs raised billions USD in ETH and are selling huge quantities of them to pay for development expenses.

Hi Vitalik,

I think you should hardfork ETH for not friendly ASICS. If you don't ETH will fall to zero.

Tks.

Wanted to enter this topic with the question "What's with the Ether price mates?".
Since I've just read the article stating that a lot of ICO's (ERC-20 projects) sold 100 000 ETH during last 30 days. And this is a reason for decline.
But then watched closely at ADA, Dash hmm I suppose no need to panic.

They try to panicked the people those already are scared and are full of fear because of the non stop dumping. People should sell only if something unavoidable need is else shouldn't let others keep buying these dips. These dips after dips are helping the long term players to make their bags fatter. Often you will see serious comments by newbies because they hide their identity behind those new accounts.

Because not only newbies hide

This dump can going a long time, as it was in 2014 - 400 days. Weak hands presses down the price, people withdraw money with loss at fiat, in the hope of saving something.

This is what a true massacre looks like. This is the lowest price for Ethereum since August 2017 and that does feel quite bad.

Looked at the ETH charts this morning and I said "Yikes!" how low will it go.

I remember a few of my buddies "loaded" up on ETH when it went to $1000 earlier this year. I told them, buy BTC instead but they never listened.

At this rate it seems that even $100 ETH is very possible, and if it ever reaches that price it will be a great deal. However no idea if it will end up recovering when in less than a year it goes from $1400 all the way down to $100. Its already lost 80% of its value from the ATH. Many people are getting very depressed with their investment for ETH.

When ICO comes back to like, the demand for ETH could rise again, hence the price.

Most ICO will take ages to deliver a finish platform some are just smoke and promises, ETH is mainly used for ICO because it is easy to create token/contract , demand for ICO are declining because it turned out many of them are scammers, ETH is going down because of BTC falling beyond the predicted floor.
