ETH 2.0 is what I am most excited about right now. ETH 2.0 + some mainstream company adapting ETH chain could help push ETH price above $350. Hopefully, they will soon make an announcement about that.
Is 2.0 ready enough to announce right now to all eth fans and users around the world? I heard they will introduce pos and sharding technology to boost eth speed performance, many new blockchain projects right now are also introducing this sharding as a solution for transaction issues which is really effective according to some testnets, if they will announce it this year Im sure you are correct price will increase rapidly. |

POS (what an unfortunate acronym) will be great when it gets going, for the health of the network I think, but I don't really get why people think it will be all that great to stake your coins. The interest rate isn't that much and the penalties if your machine gets hacked and tries to double spend are pretty severe. At least that's my neophyte understanding of it. I guess the rate is better than cash at your local saving's account but even a bog standard 401k will outperform it. POS seems like a technical necessity for growth and stability but it's not going to be a giant windfall to large hodlers IMO.

Nothing is scheduled for this year. The first stage of upgrading of Ethereum's network will take place on January of next year. But XRP is centralized and has not the main feature of cryptocurrencies. Many people believe that XRP is not even a cryptocurrency. Also consider the Ethereum's upgrade to Ethereum 2 which will cause scalability problem to be solved. It is really difficult for XRP to overcome Ethereum. |

But XRP is centralized and has not the main feature of cryptocurrencies. Many people believe that XRP is not even a cryptocurrency. Also consider the Ethereum's upgrade to Ethereum 2 which will cause scalability problem to be solved. It is really difficult for XRP to overcome Ethereum. Ethereum 2 is being expected for more than a year now, so I'll reconsider my thinking when this comes... maybe by that time XRP is also hugely improved? As for your other argument, I don't want to open a big discussion about XRP here, it has its own thread for that. Let me only say that we don't have any truly decentralized coin in the high market cap league; for the rich people will always have a way to become richer (see ASIC manufacturers in Bitcoin, GPU farms in Ethereum, escrowed XRP for Ripple Labs). |

You 're right in many ways. But, you 're wrong that ETH will remain one so good and reliable. That 's not true..
