Agreed, $1000 is a long way away, that's the current attraction. The fact that Bitcoin is closer to $20K than $0K is less of an attraction right now.

I really hope you are right about 400 bucks but, it looks a bit tough to reach right now because BTC is kinda holding altcoins hostage right now lol. It really hard to predict which way BTC is going to move.

Never be realistic centralized projects are not competitors of BTC so it will keep continue as altcoin as like its fate. No one has structure like BTC which make it superior and the king of this world. But ETH is one of most important project into the cyptocurrency ecosystem.

Ethereum is the father of smart contracts platform it make the its way with unique approach and open the door of opportunities for so many projects to dive in into this space and built their empire on the top of the its blockchain. I believe it will keep continue and take advantage to be the pioneer into this ecosystem.

With the rise of Ethereum and the FOMO of Defi ecosystem which has most of DeFi projects are run on ERC20, I think the fee will stay high for a while some time. You can not hope for cheap gas price soon.

yesterday the gas transaction fee touched 120 gwei, I think it is very expensive to do small transactions, it's been almost 2 weeks I did not do ethereum transactions due to high costs, just waiting for cheap transaction fees and not making unnecessary transactions, except if needed to Large transactions may not be a problem

It won't be coming down for now in fact assume that it will go higher from here and will stay there until the FOMO on ETH 2.0 cools down a bit which might take some time if you ask me.

Hard to believe 5 years have gone by, imagine what other innovations will be made in the next 5 years in ETH as well as its competitors.

Today's gas price is 40 gwei.It is much cheaper compared to yesterday's 90. Hope the upcoming new version will allow me to use cheaper transaction fee

When Ethereum switches to PoS, will the coin supply be capped (no new Ether will be generated anymore) or will new Ether continue to be generated with each new block as usual? If the former is true, then the price should explode if PoS works as planned, so there are no security problems or similar issues. Or am I missing something?

The Cap issue? Can we all vote about the supply? It will add more trust to the ethereum foundation. However, a price boost will occur because hodler are racing to stake ETH. The first seat was taken, adding some eth in their crypto chamber and watching the final testnet closely. At least,  V2 will eliminate scalability issues.
