There are cases that an ICO can't avoid extending the campaign like a member assigned in KYC leaving, not reaching the soft cap, and some ends their bounty program same time as their ICO (therefore, if the ICO is extended, the bounty is extended).  But if they announce a certain date in which in the bounty should have ended, and for an unknown reason, extended the bounty, that's the time you should be suspicious.

I suggest, that you should study first the project before doing a bounty for them. It won't waste your effort and at the same you have a higher chance of getting paid though there are cases that you can't really distinguish if an ICO is a scam or not.

Recently, it is difficult to distinguish scam from an good project. Therefore, I participate in several companies at once, in order to increase the chances of success.
Project in my signature is succes (and bounty manager amazix). But they twice extended the end of bounty campaign.

Token Swap deadline has concluded. ... At this time, the Bounty Program in its original form holds .5% of tokens sold (2,500,000). ... With the new extension to this campaign SWARM FUND are now allocating ..... You must have over 80% on TwitterAudit on Twitter to participate.

Members extending the ICO period usually means that they never reached a hardcap, or even a soft cap. Some great projects usually sell out during the crowdsale, which is usually why  they never have to extend their ICO's. Usually it is the smaller projects that extend it doesn't mean it is a scam, Though I have noticed a lot of main anne threads on here tend to just stop answering at the end when they extend so it could also be a possibility!!!!

Is never a scam attribute, there are alot of reasons why team may decided to extend their ICO, forst is the issue of regulation, no developer want to be told he or she is issuing security tokens, another thing is the market sentiment, if the market continue in the down side road alot of people won't want to invest their money, this is a normal thing

It turns out that the participants count on one thing, but get another. I think that when extending the bounty company's deadlines, companies should increase the share of the payment.

From the bounties I've joined and they've extended the deadline, it was mostly down to not reaching the soft cap. Then there were others which for whatever reason, the bounty campaign didn't seem to be reaching a wide audience even though the rewards were good.

I haven't come across any campaign that was an out and out scam which extended its deadline, and I hope not to come across one.

I do find it a bit annoying when they extend and don't raise the bounty reward amount - too much dilution of stakes, especially for those who took part from the first week. But I guess that's the way things are sometimes.

Not that many extend the deadline, you may have been unlucky. But it is your choice to continue or not, it is not fair I know, but you can always go to another.

When you end your participation prematurely, your payment is getting smaller every day. If you change signature, you will not get anything in signature campaign.

Often this is not scam. But this means that the company can not collect funds on time, which it planned. This is not good. Perhaps the company will never even collect a minimum amount

in most cases they cannot meet the soft cap so they have to extent or maybe they are experiencing some problems which is why they extent it to buy them some time and yes they can also be a scam depending upon the program which you have joined though all of them are not a scam but go through the program plans and other details to make sure you are not a part of a scam and the program you are a part of is a good paying one

Beware if some bounty campaign extended his campaign. It can be result scam with the project. You must keep on eye to that project. But not all campaign that extended his campaign like that. Many reasons such as KYC, not get his cap, or maybe focused in another bounty and other reasons. Thats my experince in some pending/paused/expanded bounty.

For me, if i found problem like that, i just stop my recent work for that campaign due to wasting my time. Unless the manager is trusted. I keep an eye for the progress. But mostly i quit that bounty which managed by unfamiliar or untrusted manager, then search another good bounty campaign for me to do. Its quite good for saving my time.

that I think is normal, but if it extends until a very long time it could serve as one of the omen for ico project to experience a scam. but do not worry because now many ico who have a long duration and it can be used as luck because a lot of rewards will be obtained.

Now this happens quite often and this is normal. When the market isn't particularly positive and people don't make a lot of money on trades, then there is no extra money to participate in ICO. When you have 2 ETH, not 10 - you obviously won't buy tokens so actively during ICO. Therefore, many projects don't even collect softcaps, although the idea and the team of the project are great! Therefore, they extend the duration of ICO.So, everything is simple.

Extending the campaign is not a sign of a scam, it is just a sign the developers want more advertising and they need the participants at the bounty campaign to comply and to do their jobs, this is most likely because they have not reach their soft cap or their hard cap, so do not think too much about it, to me that is just normal especially if we take into account the difficult conditions of the market.

Indeed I see there are some bounty that extend the duration of their bounty campaign. That is a natural thing in my opinion. Sometimes Bounty campaigns are extended for the purpose of successful token sales. When Token sales are extended and experience success. That is where we will get more profit.

I guess this is if the promotion is not goign as well as planned and the ICO is not getting enough investements they want to "milk" the bounty program as much as possible and give little regard to the stakes thinning out for the average user, but ofcourse if this is a stake based system then its really bad since it will reduce the tokens everyone will recieve, which is ofcourse bad, thats why we developed our bounty system not based on stakes but on actualy tokens and when we run out then we run out we will not add more to the bounty program and everyone will get paid a good amount no matter how many participants, we will just close down the bounty campaign if we run out of tokens, its just so unfair when bounty campaigns just put it on an endless loop and then the stakes of everyone reduces to almost nothing, in the end, it just seems very unfair for the bounty participants who are working hard to do work.

The most frequent reason that I’ve seen is that the sale isn’t going to reach the soft cap without extending the sale and bounty program. The last few months have been pretty tough in the crypto space, so it’s not hard to see why so many projects are struggling. Most of the time it’s an extra month or so. When a project extends their sale for couple of months or more, it’s a cause for concern.

Isnt it obvious, they just havent reached their ICO goal and they need to raise more money thus they extend the marketing campaign as well.
The decent ones do add more tokens to bounty pool after they extend it.

I have noticed the complete opposite that campaigns end much sooner then ICO ends.
