If anyone is interested, I created a quick and ugly php script to pull the profitability of each of Waffle's algorithms and use your actual hash rates for each algo to tell you which is most profitable.

I find the vsLTC to be completely wrong as I get vastly more x11 hashes than I do x13.  So like right now, x13 looks a lot more profitable but when you do the math I get roughly the exact same payouts.

This was more of a personal project and I was only going to do x11 and x13 but scrypt and scrypt-n wasn't any more difficult.  If there is interest in it I could probably add in a power factor to calculate in power costs or any other suggestions.

Sorry, I don't have a domain name I can use for it right now but you can get it at: http://149.5.241.57

Use mega free cloud hosting Smiley and let them supply the bandwidth for your project.
The vsLTC figures displayed are based on constants and are just estimated.  I find my MHs of X13 lower than X11 and this is to be expected as X13 adds two more layers ...
Personally I get much higher hashrates than the constant used for calculating vsLTC.

You might consider including the time since the counter was reset. (Midnight UTC)  The partial daily earnings will swing wildly at the beginning of the day and more slowly at the end of the day, this needs to be taken into account for that data to be useful.

I get higher than the 4x LTC for x11 and the 3.5x LTC for x13 as well.  I meant to say that the vsLTC reported by waffle right now makes you think you will make a lot more with x13 than you would with x11.  But my actual hashes are 17.8MH x11 or 13.2MH x13.  So if you multiply that by the BTC/MHs/D they come out to be about equal for me even though it is reported that x11 is only 208% while x13 is 260%.

And thanks for the tip about the hosting service, I will look into that.  Right now I just have it on a dedicated server I own that does other things than http.

You might consider including the time since the counter was reset. (Midnight UTC)  The partial daily earnings will swing wildly at the beginning of the day and more slowly at the end of the day, this needs to be taken into account for that data to be useful.

Right now it just uses the straight up BTC/MHs/D from the most current day so it would fluctuate wildly during the beginning.  I couldn't see in any API to pull the last 24hrs like waffle has at the top.  Maybe I could get him to include one.

**edit** Just added a hours and minutes since the BTC/MHs/D reset.  Took me a little while to figure out how to do that (I'm not much of a programmer)  Seems my server's time is a few minutes off so I will try and figure out how to fix that.

What does everyone think about this proposal? Would love to hear from miners, pool operators and even coin developers and who ever else would love to chime in.

Sounds good in theory, in practice it is much more difficult.
1) The numbers have to be for a period of time, and thus an average.
2) How the heck is PW going to know the spot coin/btc price average over the period of time?
3) What do you do with coins that have been earned, but not yet converted?

In any case, the short answer is: If you don't like the profitability, then go mine somewhere else. The x11 stats for  says you should have received 298% vs LTC mining. That should not be hard to check. Much easier than trying to verify coin by coin. If you think 298% is low, then have fun trying to beat 298%.

1) The numbers that i was primary proposaling are the numbers (current exchange price) that are the "most profitable"  at that time. It is just a basic addition to the stats that would enhance the already shown "most profitable" and should be as easy as the already shown "most profitable" coin as it would come from exactly same data.

2)Not asking PW or any other pool operator (as this is not just a wafflepool proposal) to average the prices, but to just record and display 2 exchange prices (1:when the coin is most profitable and what the current price is and  2: when said coin is exchanged , what it was exchanged for price). Number 2 basically is already done as it has already is the formula in order for the miners and pool operators to get paid, but that it just does not actual show exchange price for us to view.

3) not sure on your question as my proposal does not have any thing to do with the coins earned and not yet converted, that would stay the same as it is now.The only additions would be a couple additional stat displays that show price as most profitable and price that said coin was exchanged for to be converted for everyone to get paid.

As in your short answer, we all have the freedom to mine anywhere we chose and likewise mining operators have the freedom to operate as they feel. But in order to get 298% profit said coin has to be exchanged at exact same time as mined (or at least at same exchange price when exchanged AND LTC would have to be same as well. Otherwise  you are just getting paid for what it was exchanged for and that total may or may not be higher or lower and thus why i am proposaling that mining operators display the 2 pricing numbers to show what we are actually getting . Because yes i agree 298% would be very hard to beat but really means basically nothing, if when said coin does not exchange somewhere in the same price parameters along with LTC current parameters as well.

I believe they are on the new wallet. Someone over on the judge post said that waffle was finding blocks.

Yep, have been on the proper wallet since about 2 hours after the fork (my mistake).

I've been out of town the last few days, and have been around to see/fix things, but haven't been able to post much, saw someone mentioning the fix here so figured I didn't need to jump in.

I've got something setup on the backend that gives the ability to alert me to problems, so if there are a few people here (saw UtahJohn suggested) that might be interested in helping out (just for things like "theres a problem/emergency, need PW online now") I'd be alright with giving a few people the option (just want to keep the number low, as "emergency" means different things to different people, and the more people paging me, the less sleep I get) Smiley

After some testing with catalyst 14.7RC I have found no useful gain in hashrate over 14.6RC2.
My OP has been updated in testing thread.

Poolwaffle, can you add a way to set the vsLTC multipliers for X11, X13, X15, nscrypt? Cookies or just parameters to the url or something, since we all have different ones based on the card, drivers used, script, operation system, etc, so we can easily see what is best for us to mine? Something like:
http://wafflepool.com/stats/x11?x11=4.5&x13=3.7.. etc?

While it certainly isn't as nice as having it native to the wafflepool website, I created a little script that pulls the current BTC/MHs/D and multiplies that by your actual hash rate to give you an estimate of what you'd expect to make in BTC for each algorithm.  You can find it at http://149.5.241.57 for now anyway, I will probably give it a more permanent home sometime or take it down if PW implements it natively.

Pool Waffle-

Any chance there is auto-switching Algos on the horizon with SGminer 5.0? There isn't anywhere else that I'd like to mine as you've earned my trust and loyalty, and quite simply it's hard to trust any pool!

If it's not on the horizon, I will just need to figure out how to get CGwatcher and SGminer 5 to do it on its own using you.

Auto algo switching has been addressed and is on PW's list.  I don't know how soon Sad
Further testing with sgminer-dev v5 is needed and a simple cgwatcher method might be easiest atm.
EDIT: that one's on you atomic.  I am currently working on improving groestl performance ...

Is there a problem with X11 and scrypt in regards to reporting earned and unconverted amounts? Shares from my rigs are getting accepted but no change for the last 2.5 hours. Hopefully just a reporting process is stuck.

Stats were stuck, they're catching up now (was away from my computer to get them unstuck).

Mining is unaffected, just the display of stats.

What causes the stats to become stuck and not display properly? Just curious as it has happened a few times in just 2 weeks

In this case it was poor testing.  It was the same problem as last week (a coindaemon crashed) and so RPC calls to it were failing and throwing exceptions (fine).  However, when it happened last week, I added code to handle the the exceptions and run pages to my phone (sets off an alarm so I can fix the problem).  Unfortunately, I just added it quickly and copy/pasted the alert from another set of code and edited the include path for the alerts script incorrectly (had a "./alerts/" instead of "../alerts"), so unfortunately when the daemon crashed, and the alert should have gone off, it instead just crashed saying "include failed" instead of actually sending alerts.

Short explanation: something crashed, was fixed quickly and untested and crashed again.
