The present longest chain is 93272, correct?

Ok... a post NOT about "which chain"...

KEEPING THE CROWN

I think a lot of people noticed that the crown was being kept pretty well for a long time, and being cashed out fairly often.

The only way I can think of to do this is to get in another colour, destruct, then swoop in and snatch up the crown and coins from it. There's a risk there, but it's a calculated risk.

Does anyone have any other ideas on it?

easy bro
check the general logs, the chinamen haven't had a general hold the crown in forever
that way they can just destruct their general and the crown falls onto that square
so they pile up that square with their own players, and other members of their chinese cartel
detonate the general, they all share the crown, then the crown goes to a random person in that square (who is also part of their chinese cartel)
cash out all the guys with money, re-stack the square with the crown with more armies, rinse and repeat

But the crown holder can't destruct...

as i am not really following this topic and i'd like to hear when this issue is fixed. I have a big amount of coins on exchanges like poloniex and cryptorush and I am worried that this coin will get dumped hard when trading gets resumed. As I see it now, there have been too many problems around this coin as of late. While I do agree that the concept is unique and promising, these problems are really bad for the coin.

Running bot armies is definitely on my radar. Just over a week ago I experimented with a couple of armies to watch their behavior and gain some more information. A nice add on gui to control them would have been nice, but instead I can use the chat to change their behavior and direction. Of course using the correct commander name and command format is necessary.

Any plans on releasing a public version? Wink

Any chance of keeping it private, but selling for HUC Wink!

Yes! That! And just to BayAreaCoins and me! Cheesy (Well... maybe Snailbrain and a few others... but...) Grin

To tell the truth, I like a lot of what BGB has done so far. Those that understand what he has done will understand why I appreciate it.

Of course you appreciate it, and i know why, but which part of "human mining" don't you understand?

Hehe! Which part don't YOU understand? Wink

You are already using software to control "hunters".

Could you use bot software to control "armies"? Certainly! Wink

It's only a matter of the scale that the game is played at. The individual solider level, or the army level.

But ultimately, it's still humans controlling the game.

Whether or not you or I have access to the software to control a hunter or an army isn't relevant.

EDIT: I should also say that Huntercoin is first and foremost a PROTOCOL. The game is a part of that protocol. Big implications there.

This is what excites me about crypto, and Huntercoin in particular. We are dealing with the potential to make the world a better place here. Smiley

The block chain is still forked so it's really not a good time to be starting out. As soon as everyone is 100% on the same chain I'll throw you a little to get started.  Smiley

i think atm, the long chain that everyone (almost) is on, is going to be the chain. to my knowledge, the only other chain is the eligius chain which is probably about 90k blocks if it's still being mined. (there is one dead one which block exlporer is on http://huc.explorer.dot-bit.org/)

just want to play it as safe as possible - would hate for people to lose lots of hucs/btc due to a roll-back (hate that word(s) in mmorpgs)

Domob is doing a patch atm which should cache the last 10 blocks, possibly speeding up most reorganizes and maybe prevent some issues
once it's been tested as much as possible, i'll commit and roll out. and let exchanges know that they can possibly start trading again

We have more debug information if it happens again, so we'll see how it goes.

I'd love to see someone try a genetic algorithm based bot. Trial and error, each time improving the next bot post the demise of its predecessor. Just like the Cylon spaceships in Battlestar Galactica. Like Scar! ...puts anorak on and thick glasses.

Essentially no one programs the bot. Rather, the evolutionary rules are applied and a fitness function supplied (e.g. a measure of how good / close to the desired output / performance = most coins in shortest time for example). Its the blind watchmaker opposed to the intelligent designer. See how they get on.

If anything, the Huntercoin Universe could be an interesting testing ground with commercial incentive for the next generation of bot technology. ...and they'll have to compete with the best humans.

This is fun!

Guys, I need a help. It's like 2 weeks or so since I am not able to sync my wallet and I have like 8k HUC in it.

It stucked on 41910 blocks (5 weeks ago) and I have a yellow warning on the top of the wallet saying - Displayed transactions may not be correct. YOu may need to upgrade or other nodes may need to upgrade.

I am using latest 1.00-05e upgrade.

I don't have idea what to do. I've PMed snailbrain few days ago but he never answered back.

well spotted.. (is working as intended)
to counter this, someone could always have characters follow/stackup on the crown holder if he is not a general.
These sort of tricks will/should add to strategy... use to your advantage (and keep quiet? Cheesy ) -- unless there is some serious bug.

Well, took me a while, but I finally got around to writing up a Wikipedia article on Huntercoin:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huntercoin

There's a lot more that could be added, but at least there is something there with some decent content and not just a short stub.
