I could likely pull off the t-shirts given some designs...

That would be great. I'll keep it in mind Smiley

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

crown has been dropped and i've picked up that (with deffe.1) again but suddently banked, i want it to be available for everyone to hount for that, ~300 hucs for that action are enough for me Smiley
i have to thank the (bot?) green KILLBGBsomething that managed to destroy crownholder, i have just used my client to position me in the right spots planning moves and sending moves asap the explosion took place

here you can see even the WIP about the My Troop Window, i'm experimenting some layout to see which is more user friendly and easy to use, maybe the one you see now will be the one i'll use

now it's late for you, but next time try to ask here ==> http://forum.huntercoin.org/index.php?board=5.0 before taking decision like a system reset, maybe it was something trivial to fix

This isn't meant to be as negative as it might sound but just got me thinking out loud.. Wonder if one could sell HUC styled flash drives with the latest block "as of x" then have it mailed out.

Obviously with pruning and other possibilities, this is moot.

HUC-styled USBs might be on the books, but filling them with the latest blocks would only partially put off the blockchain problem, and a very inefficient remedy at that too. I'd rather use the USBs as a pure promotional piece rather than a tool. Pruning is at the top of Snailbrain's priorities for the coin anyway, I should assume.

Ok so someone got me interested in Huntercoin even though pretty much everyone tells me to stay away from it for various reasons.
Now I am willing to try, but it will not ever sync....

I've downloaded the partial blockchain from mega (which took forever because this mega crap crashed all the time, I'd recommend a normal ftp or whatever..) but
it always has 3 weeks left!!

A new week has passed before I can download a single one. And I run this system 24/7!

Any ideas? The coin is totally useless in this state.

Will using this Mithril client help me or do I have to download the whole frickin blockchain again?

You guys need to work on communication flow for real..

Edit: I'm trying this one now http://forum.huntercoin.org/index.php?topic=37.15 . This stuff should come from devs not random users!

The dev is working on reducing the size of the blockchain as it is the most pressing issue. The best bet to get the wallet synced is either to run it on an SSD or better still on a RAM drive.

That one worked. Took around 12 hours or so after that 200k+ blockchain, but I am back in now! Woohoo!!

It's best if you visit us back in 2-3 weeks' time. This problem unfortunately has kept a lot of new people away, and it should be fixed pretty soon. Patience is a virtue Smiley

I truly hope this will always be human mineable.

Asics overtook Bitcoin mining 6 digit USD required for a bite
GPU rigs overtook almost all alts i'd say 4 digit USD required
CPU coins basically do not exist big time

so if you can manage that bots do not overtake HUC and it will really stay human mineable that would be awesome.

Even though I can't fully figure out what your "mission statement" on this is. You play with real money. The game itself is less game and more grind.

I'm interested in how this develops and hopefully I can try soon Smiley

Worst case scenario is that the players would have to control bots as they become accessible to the average/normal players, hence you can have pre-set commands etc.

I'm not sure what you mean.

To me Huntercoin has made clear that in a blockchain game
you should have a built-in bot-making ability with very flexible
scripting system. That way it will stay human mineable,
only the emphasis of the game moves to devising and implementing
various bot strategies.

I run my client every day when i come back from work, so i have to download ~16 hours and it tooks some minutes (never misured, but something about 10/15 minutes)
my datadir is on an SSD drive (blockchain is too much to fit in my ramdrive and i don't wanted to compress that drive)

my client (Mithril Edition) helps a lot about planning moves, strategies, etc... but can't help about downloading blockchain, because it relay on huntercoind.exe (the huntercoin deamon) using its RPC commands

beside that i advice you to try it (it's windows only) maybe after you've tried the official one, you'll see how much it adds to the game

soon i should publish my new interface (ETA in few weeks) and it will be even easier

As someone pointed out, a bot system into the client is something needed to keep this coin human minable and it's what i'll try to achive after i'll publish the new interface

Thanks for the replies.

I'm not really sure what to think about the botting thing. Does it mean you have to be a coder then to maximize your game?

Also the blockchain download from that one google link failed about 3 times now. Always right before 100%...
I'm trying it yet another time.

I totally cannot reproduce Mithrilmans speed of syncing the blockchain. I literally have this thing running for weeks now and I can watch it transfer single blocks....
Are there some kind of hidden nodes that are not listed in OP or why the f will it not download faster? I'm on a fast connection here and the whole BTC chain wouldve finished multiple times already..
