2.8mhs seems extremely low.. why is this so expensive, Im so confused

Those 2.8 MH/s are for scrypt and this coin is SHA3 with that setup you will get a lot more coin per day....Mining scrypts I have 2.4 MH/s and minig this coin with same setup I have 1116 MH/s and I already have 15 MAX in my wallet in less than 24 H

ok that makes more sense now!  Let's say you start off at around 300mh/s for each card since tweaking will take you a bit.  Rough estimate around 25-30 max.  I didn't use that calculating site as I'm always paranoid it is some sort of phising site, not saying it is, just playing it safe.

It will now give me 172MAX (at current diff)

Does anyone have good cgminer settings for r9 290 or similar?

This is what I use for my R9 290 rig
-I 14
Afterburner 3.0.0 Beta 18
-12mV, 0 PT, 1050mhz core, 1250mhz mem.
435mh/s per card.

I have 5 of these hashing on one rig consuming 1300w total.
I could get up to 480mh/s using 1150mhz core and +20% PT but one of my cards is unstable so I prefer the reliability, less power consumption and heat.

Thanks, I'll give this a go. Have you just left all of the other settings in CGMiner at default.

I tried 2 pools, and both I get no accepts at all:

As this was returned by two pools, while it works with cudaminer on other pools: is something wrong or is something totally different form all other coins/pools?

I have noticed that mining Max, my GPUs don't get any where near as hot as when mining Scrypt - so I tried putting the Scrypt GPU Defaults for my 7970 and 7990 into the batch files for my Max mining, and set CGMiner off (I was previously using a basic batch file, with no presets at all), but while the mining speed was reporting back as about 15-20% higher, there wasn't anywhere near as many accepted shares happening - if any.

Does anyone know of any good presets to put into my batch file to help me wring the most out of my cards?

that is scrypt.. scrypt, SHA-2 (Sha 256) and Sha-3 (Keccak) are completely different hashing Algorythms....

scrypt is nearly 1000 times slower than SHA 256
and about 500 times slower than SHA-3 Keccak..

people who want to know how many coins they can make really need to read about and understand hashing ....
and also network difficulty..

nobody can say how many coins you will make because the rate changes every 30 seconds...

for example.. the morning you could be mining 1 per hour and by night you could be mining only .5 per hour..

the coin generation system of MAXcoins (and all other altcoins that use PoW) is as fluid and dynamic as the price..
