I thought the reward cut happened a couple weeks ago.

What's the reward now?  There's also rumors they're gonna just kill the PoW stage and go full PoS.

That would gave a huge effect given we're a long ways from the 100 million dilution mark.

The reward block is 16  and block time is 1 minute used to be 30 seconds, which did happen a month or so ago. The difficulty is really high to mine maxcoin which confuses me I stopped mining months ago so I haven't been paying attention much, but besides Litecoin and sha-256 coins theres no other coin more difficult to mine than maxcoin, why is it so high?  there is no value in mining at that difficulty.

Maybe cause they wanna make the coin really secure for use.  Maybe cause they have plans to roll it out to various payment processors; starting with GoCoin.

That's my gut feeling.  And it could be Karl Gray mining it to a) get more MAX and b) to show max is a very secure alt coin and can be used for mass adoption.

Your statement is confusing.  So BCX did a 180 on MAX and now holds a big position or he did a 180 and now hates MAX?

If BCX is bullish on MAX then that entire massive mining hash could be mostly his.

When did BCX go bullish on MAX?  I'm curious if it was around the same time when I started going nuts over it - simply cause I knew Max Keiser would be pumping it like mad once Bitcoin takes off.

it says on the site..  Total 128625.9 MH/s

it's also easy to get a lot of hash power on this coin i have an old "Fermi" Nvidia Geforce 550Ti doing 43.8 MH/s

I don't think that's the cause if the spike.  Reducing supply (inflation) is a huge move for any coin but even then, an increase in demand has to occur to maximize the potential.

Just look at other coins which cut back supply by massive amount:  NAUT, Casino, SMART, etc., - their prices have been stagnant and will continue to do so until demand picks up.

That said; once demand ticks up - these coins which cut back supply and dilution - will see a much higher spike in price than coins which kept their massively dilutive rates.

So this is a good time to buy up any coins which have done huge supply cuts and are still being sold at ridiculously low prices.

As for Max - I think the spike was a test run to see how much powder would be needed to move MAX above the $1 range.  Given the current inflation is much lower this test made a lot of sense.

So next they're either gonna cut the subsidy again (a third time) or they'll get the real pump going which should feed off some mainstream event - like GoCoin adding MAX [which is what I expect will happen].

I was getting my numbers off coinwars for how much hashpower was being generated, BCX had been holding alot of maxcoin back in the day on mcxnow if he still holds it im not sure, he said he was on the richlist on mcxnow cuz he had some type of beef with realsolid(or realsolid has beef with him), he made a post a couple months back telling people to invest he was against it at first,than ended up having a conversation with a individual involved with maxcoin who revealed future projects involing the coin, than he was for maxcoin, go to his name and just check his past post ul find it eventually, prices even had a temp spike after he made the post haha.

There is speculation that they had a headstart mining the coin due to a faulty launch, but ive never heard of any premine towards maxcoin besides the headstart if there was one, there are alot of people that are butthurt that lost alot of money involving maxcoin cuz the price was high in the beginning, 96 coins,  30sec blocks there were way to many coins being produced to maintain the price it was at the first few days.
