You make it seem like nothing great can be accomplished without government, but the reality is that most of what humanity has accomplished has been outside of the control of government, and much of the accomplishment has been done in spite of government.

It is not as if things can't be done without government but we know it is not really possible to get people together in one accord without one form organization. The organization that will be respected to carry out functions to that group. I'm saying that this is the role that "government" perform and this why taxes are levied to get the roles performed.

The government was mandated in order to protect the general public and welfare of its citizens. Aside from protection, the government's role include developing infrastructures for the country, implementing rules and regulations, imposing tax for its expenditures and maintaining education as its top of its priority. Tax is a system wherein it is enforced upon the general public as a pecuniary contribution for government needs.

Although some countries have their negative experiences with the government, that issue must be set aside as it is irrelevant from the discussion. Whether we like it or not, we still need to be diligent into paying taxes.

What happens if you are in a third world country and there is massive corruption? You pay taxes and there are no roads, schools, or any essential public utilities. What you do see is the politicians and their cronies getting richer. Would you still argue that everybody should continue paying taxes?

That's what actually happens in my country.

BUT

It doesn't maen that we should not pay taxes, it means that we should fight corruption and put into jail all those politicians that get richer.
You just see the problem in the wrong way

The tax money we pay fund many services. Government workers are paid with this funds, tax dollars also help to support police and firefighters. The tax fund also facilitates the safety and maintenance of the roads you travel on. Libraries, and parks are also included. If you want to continue to enjoy the listed, then it is only logical for you to pay your tax.

And now on the subject, I think a lot of people are having the wrong idea about it.
Rather than being openly against taxes and avoid paying them, why not concentrate the effort on electing a parliament and indirectly a government that will not play around with our money?

My colleagues at work are one hell of an example, every coffee break they criticize the government, the mayor, the local council, but less than 1/4 have voted in the elections...

I don't think that you can change human nature. I mean whatever government you choose, they will all sooner or later start to "play around with our money". But if you can control the government somehow and not let them play with your money, then it doesn't matter whom you choose as long as your choice is rational, which is assumed as well given you can control that government in the first place.

Regarding elections, it also depends. If elections are used as a means to legitimize the rogue government, then it makes no sense to vote. In other words, no matter how you vote, your vote will be counted as required. The elections should be for real to make sense.

In my own opinion, its fine to pay taxes for the government but the only problem is that, there are corrupted governments out there who are trying to steal money from the people but not every government does the same thing.

It is really true that the money coming from the taxes of people can be used as a salary of the government employees and used it as a budget to repair the roads and other buildings that are used for government offices. People must pay taxes as a regulated by the government and people must follow the rules of the government.

It is simply a help and an obligation as a citizen to pay taxes because you can't say no to paying taxes because that is your obligation and you should do that without hesitation because just imagine if there is no paying taxes in your country then your country will not have the fund to make projects and to give salary to its employees.

I do not think that the government is able to provide satisfactory service to its people, whereas everyone is charged tax every year and the results are not visible form of taxation that has been established by the government to the public. it may be due to the performance of the people involved in the government that many are greedy to earn more money so that corruption always exists on all levels of government secretly
some of the reasons you mentioned are familiar to all governments, but most of the taxes we spend are not comparable with those given by the government to their people, most governments take taxes from the people to government, not from the people for the welfare of society.

You say it all, Tax will keep our nation alive so it will be good if we pay our taxes on time. Paying taxes is good as long as the government will use it well to serve the people and to provide them basic needs but if the government officials did not use well of our taxes that instead of returning it to the people thru basic services they corrupted it, then Taxation will not be good anymore because it did not serve the true purpose of it.

Of course government can't satisfy everyone needs because for different people there is different case. They are only solving issues that may affect the public and not as individual themselves. It seems that you are angry with the government you have, but I have a question for you. Given the fact that every government has its own corrupt officials, why does there are individuals that become rich and wealthy despite of not having connection with the government? I also want to point out the culture of a country may affect the way of lives, just look at Japan right now.

Yeah and I do hope that our taxes were honestly allocated to those projects and improvements to make our country a better place and it should not be handed over those corrupt or those with personal interests. Kudos to those countries that really has good governance. We are the benefitiaries of our own tax that is why we should pay for it. We can clearly see some highly developed countries whose taxes were handed over correctly and honestly.

Taxation is theft. "But who will build the roads" argument is really old and dumb, people are not some stupid monkeys who can't figure out things if no one guides them, there's nothing that can not be done privately and through voluntary cooperation (which is the same as privately). Roads, military, science and so on - all of it can and is done privately around the world. Government is exactly why Bitcoin was invented - you can't trust people with power and believe that they will do as they've promised, and even well-meaning leaders do stupid mistakes that cost billions. Just like Bitcoin have decentralized economy, some day people will decentralize power to the point when every individual will be independent from others.

We pay taxes for the maintenance of the wellfare of the citizens. They used taxes for the salary of government officials and ises for the upocoming projects that we will benefit on it yet in my country there still lapses. We dont have choice only to pay taxes as it is a mandated by the goverment and if you are employed the government already took the taxes in your salary before we receive it.

The reason why we should pax taxes because we are required to do it as government command the citizens of the state to pay for our  obligation, we should pay this taxes because in turn this taxes collected by the goverent , will be use as projects to the community like roads, bridges, school buildings , hospitals and other government projects to the different community and back to the people who pay this taxes.

I believe any kind of taxation can be only voluntary (which basically is not taxes but just payment for services already). It's true that for some life occasions
it's simpler for large groups of people to organize and pay for the same cause, but the situation when taxes are being enforced is completely unacceptable for me.
