Oh... and if anyone is looking to expand on this and include more testers I would recommend Vosk Coin.
Please, no. Guy is annoying af. Just my opinion! Well, I would but I need my review sample back as we only have 1-2 spare. In Vosk's last video he mentions mineority disappointing him by selling FPGAs instead of working on ProgPOW. Then he's complaining about reduced Nvidia profit due to the Z9 mini and bitmain being evil, and how 'people' only care about profit, yet he's bought two Z9's and another ASIC on the way? If he's not going to set a decent example, he's just a hypocrite. I don't hate the guy, I just think he could do a lot better if his reviews were more focused on the technology and less about how much money he can make. Let him and his subscribers buy their ASICs and leave the FPGAs for people that can tell the difference between a scam and a deal at this early stage. If you have a review sample please send it to Seth or someone else that actually made some FPGA videos recently. what load of rubbish, you make no sense at all. Vosk does a YT channel that looks at all aspects of mining, so how the hell can anyone gave worthwhile opinion on ASICs but not actually have and use any?? He has stated many times that his preference is for GPU mining and so ProgPOW would be more important to him, its just a point of view. You advocate groups should stick exclusively to one tech or another? FPGAs or ASICs, like fanboys? Really? Which 'people' only care about profits? your statement is not clear, Bitmain certainly are evil and have carried out their business with total disregard for anything other than their own bank balance. The thing is mining is supposed to be incentivised by profit, why do put that down as a bad thing? Think harder before post anything, you currently have no credibility.

The thing is mining is supposed to be incentivised by profit, why do put that down as a bad thing? Think harder before post anything, you currently have no credibility. LOL I actually subscribe to Vosk on YT and lurk in his discord. I'm qualified to have an opinion. Nobody should have ASICs, but it's a bit late for that. ASICs just end up in the trash after a year -- it's a huge waste and the model is not sustainable. We are making FPGAs to kill ASICs in the future, okay? Gamers will be happy because they won't compete with miners for cards, bitmain will take a bit less profit, and less stuff ends up in the trash. Vosk obviously didn't need TWO Z9's to review them, and his uninformed opinion that mineority should be working on ProgPOW is laughable. ProgPOW is done -- it is being evaluated by coin teams for implementation. There is very little interest, unfortunately. Mineority doesn't stand to profit much by selling and hosting FPGAs -- especially when they throw in a warranty and optimizations -- it's just something to give their business some creditability and help the community. ASIC reviews are almost completely useless -- you either buy batch 1 with no reviews and are almost guaranteed a nice profit, or you gamble on batch 2 or 3 reaching ROI. Vosk doesn't need to buy 15k of ASICs so he can tell us this. Nobody does. He's helping himself, not us. I like some of his other content to support proof of capacity mining, but most of his videos are just fluff with no useful info. For me. I guess if you want to know that you should remodel your garage with an epoxy floor it's helpful? lol

So my only question is, is this going to give those that bought 1525s buyers remorse?

Depends, but if you got one not so much. I have been holding some coin and selling some 1080ti's. I am in no real rush to drop a lot of money on fpga or on acorn 2 tech. I am hold a bit of cash. To me the shift away from gpu's means only cheap power is of value. ASic's = disposable gear with no resale FPGA's = risky unknown with unknown resale value. GPU's = not very good at mining but vale in gaming wide spread users. Best hope is not the Acorn2 or the FPGA beat hope is a render for rent serice that can get a boost from the Acorn2 Still holding about 12 13 1080ti's rest of the gpus are gone.

Right now, if you want to support zencash and untill they fork you must buy a Z9

Well if you buy a few Z9 MINI's to support ZEN and the ZEN forks ZEN is not supporting you.

I can't wait to try one of these. If it works as stated it will be a big help to me personally. Where I live electric isn't very expensive, and because I'm disabled mining even the 200 or so dollars a month helps me to keep my home. The US government is having a great time screwing with medical benefits. If it helps me make a few extra bucks a month then its worth it.

Could anyone remind me when we were supposed to get the detailed information about hashing power/boost of Acorn ASIC? I am getting confused by conflicting info.

I read on Reddit that Vosk didn't buy the Z9 minis. He was testing them for two weeks before shipping them to the real owner.

It's so cheap I doubt anyone would really be disappointed... but it may be more likely that Acorn buyers feel remorse. It sounds awesome... but if they have full rigs running 1x risers at PCIEv1 speeds... they could struggle to get any meaningful boost. (I think you'll have to get a rig running as at least 1x PCIEv2, which could mean dropping a GPU or two for stability... so you could end up using less power but still having lower hashrates?)

The 215+ can do standalone mining? Maybe use your 16x and 8x slots to run multiple Acorns doing their own thing (on one of those multi-M.2-to-PCIe cards), and leave GPUs on your 1x slots - perhaps not being accelerated at all because they're using legacy algos? Man I'm going to need a spreadsheet to figure out all the setup combos

This... looks amazing! I do have my doubts, considering the number of scams out there. Hopefully you will take escrow BTC payments or at least PayPal.

One other item that is hopefully listed in the Acorn store are the PCie adapters mentioned in the first post: " I am also pursuing making available well priced options for individual PCIe x4 to M.2 M-key host boards (these are broadly available for $10-15), as well as Quad-M.2 PCIe switched and Bifurcated x16 host boards for those who do not have the available M.2 M-Key slots or require up to 240MH of acceleration." This way, the user gets a tested, Acorn compatible, hardware solution .

More details over the coming days. Thanks for being patient everyone.
