People who cant afford a hardware wallet, the best thing they can do is to store there private keys on a piece of paper. Just take a print out on a paper of your paper wallet and dont store it anywhere online.

Not even on  a notepad file on your computer.

Now, other suggestions I can give is that if you are technically sound, move from windows to linux or mac, it reduces your chances of getting infected with a malware by a big margin.

Eventually, when you can go and buy a hardware wallet, its worth every penny.
It really is hard when it comes to staying safe without exposing ones private keys. But even if we say, lets copy out the keys and write them down, one may not be too careful or too fortunate to avoid some errors in missing one or more letters from the private key. The thing is, have a device which you don't use to access the internet or log in to any website, use it solely for storing your essential details such as private keys and other password logins.

i think having tokens in 1 lesser-used main wallet is a viable idea. metamask seems to be a good interface for interacting with the eth chain for my daily use (low-value) wallet too.

The biggest danger for our wallet is ourselves. Hacking a wallet is almost impossible, if we are careful - we store keys offline, do not click extraneous links, do not go into the wallet from the search

I think we just need to be careful with the actions we take. And do not ever click on any site that we do not know or download applications that are not clear origin. We will be safe if we act safe and do not make any mistakes I think. Because I've always been safe from hackers.

Hacking is one of the acts which bothers most technologists and investors. This is because your private and vital information is being stolen. In the world of crypto, there are no exceptions. To protect your wallet from hackers, I suggest you shouldn't hand over your private key to anyone and secondly the use of hardware wallet is also good.

Wallet that are used for transactions should be set different from storage wallets and avoid following any form of phishing emails.Phishing emails are received by wallet owners every now and then so if you follow them and input any information from the wallet, then eventually you will give out the wallet details and lose out your funds to a dirty scammer.

The best thing that you can do is to use hardware wallet. Incase if you cannot afford one then convert all yout private key to paper key. I mean take a printout of your private keys and keep it safe somewhere. Never login using private key to your walle and never share with anyonet. Always use Keystore / JSON File to Login to your web wallet. For eher use metamask, If possible avoid using web / mobile wallet. It is always better to use desktop wallet.

That's only to keep you from having a malware installed to your computer but how if the hacker is targetting you? To make your wallet secure is not only that, you need to have 2fa authentication to keep someone else withdrawing coin out of your wallet and many various necessary security measure, so by that your wallet will be safe.
Though, if you want a totally safe option you can make an offline wallet that's not connected to the internet.

The hardware wallet like Nano S is probably the best solution.
But if want to reduce the chance of your wallet being hacked is really important to keep your computer clean and be careful l with the emails. Just one is not enough, you have to do both in order ti succeed.

This is for those who use wallets with cheap transaction fee, such as ethereum based wallets.
There are some who cannot yet afford to purchase a hardware wallet. On that note, i have a suggestion on how your wallet can be safe from hackers. I have always noticed wallets that get easily hacked are those that are subject to public view.
Try as much as possible to have a separate cold wallet address that you do not copy and paste the private key, and neither do you share the address with anyone. You can use it to store most of your valuable coins.
Even if you want to transfer any coin or token to an address belonging to another person, first transfer it to your public wallet before sending it out.

there are lot of ways on how to secure and protect your private keys to hackers, use keystore file in logining instead of private key , but i prefer you to xrrate cold storage. Be responsible in your own private key always check the phising website that you maybeish to enter.

I use a regular wallet and everything was always fine,if you follow a certain set of rules-then no one will hack you and steal your information! Do not leave your tokens on the stock exchange for a long time and never give your key to anyone, but in General the most important information rule - Do not go to unfamiliar links and do not believe the events where gold mountains promise!!

in particular, don't enlighten others regarding imperative data from your wallet, particularly about passwords, privatekey and key expressions, this is critical in wallet security.

most importantly, do not tell others about important information from your wallet, especially about passwords, privatekey and key phrases, this is very important in wallet security.

Don’t keep all the information on one or even devices. The dividing here is the best way of dealing with privacy problems.

To protect your wallet from hackers first don't go in the phishing sites and don't give your private key to others.Create a wallet in a networkless environment, and then transfer tokens to the wallet so that your private key is secure and does not appear in the network environment and I do is simply keep connected to a computer that you only connect to the internet when you're going to send money.

This a a big topic and there is no single safe approach. Learning about computer and online security is important first step. Using multiple wallets and exchanges can also help reduce the risk.
