Our GPU miner is very promising! Our first tests performed with ATI R9 series graphics cards indicate about 4.5x gain compared to xptMiner dga-c17 on the Intel Xeon E5 series. It's a great result and we still have to fix some bugs. We take this opportunity to invite those interested in mine this currency to do so on www.riepool.ovh and use xptMiner 2.2, the best miner in circulation. Only in this way can we continue to develop an innovative miner for Riecoin. Thanks to those who support us and good RieMining! P.S. We all have balls full of you that continue, moreover, to release the blocks even after 15 minutes.... (the one Solo miner that solves 90%+ of the blocks). You have a lot of computing power, ok, at least do not be an asshole! You, solo miner, will have a nice big surprise from our GPU miner! Yeah! You should keep your word and open source the miner this time. Do the community a favor.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Crap... Then there will be no CPU friendly coin anymore...
There are a lot of hardware limitations to do a GPU miner, maybe Simba discovered the perfect algorithm to implement it but the miner dont work just with computing power. I think if a gpu miner works, wont be a significative difference with the cpu mining.. at least for the first months..

i think it will be CPU mine-able for quite some time. After all we have no idea if simba really created a new GPU miner or not, probably just using this fake news to promote his failing, botnet infested pool.

Hi, what is the best pool at the moment for mining RIC? The development of RIC is stopped for how many years?

I think there is one. There have been talk on hosting forums of people ordering large amounts of budget CPUs like Dual L5420s for $20 per month. Anyone got any ideas what they are mining?

uBlock.it is under a very large ddos attack, we are working with our upstream providers to mitigate. Someone is not happy with uBlock.it apparently

The only two pools I feel are worth recommending due to their continued development and support for the project are ublock.it and xpoolx. And yes - the core of the project has not required an update since 2014, although there have been many updates to user interaction with the POW (i.e., mining), which was actually kinda the whole purpose of Riecoin to begin with - to prove that a POW coin can actually produce useful scientific results rather than useless algorithmic hashing for the sake of itself. In the last week alone, the project has found 760-digit and 770-digit prime constellations - the two largest in the history of the project. So cool developments are happening in Riecoinland - it just may not seem that way from the github.

Someone is not happy with uBlock.it apparently Ahh that's why I cannot connect to my account (Gateway Timeout)... Thanks for the news, hope that it is fixed soon and solutions will be found to protect against these attacks Seems like the blocks continue to be found normally though https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ric/extraction.dws?11.htmpool is completely down EDIT: up again !! wooohoooo

pool is completely down EDIT: up again !! wooohoooo Yay, working again! But... Seems like that many blocks were found, but not credited since 798893 799581, 799522, 799363, 799277, 799248, 799208, 799204, 799159, 799084, 799066, 799047, 799019, 798969, 798963 https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ric/extraction.dws?11.htmPlease fix this Ziiip And out of curiosity, can someone use testnet? I could not found any node at all, anywhere in the internet... Or maybe just nobody uses this so the testnet blockchain was definitively lost? How to start a new testnet blockchain then? Yup. it seems i found one of these blocks. Lets hope he will give us the coins cause once one of my miners found the one and only superblock that ublock.it has found. i asked him if there is a bonus. he told me that there is no bonus but he is going to give me something for finding the one and only superblock that ublock.it pool has found.....and he gave me his balls. Still he had any right to do it since there is no bonus, but dont tell people that you will give them one if you dont do it. Its like Simba's miner and his upgraded but not open source miner. He said that he will release his code but....balls, dry hairy balls.

Will there be media attention at the event yes, will they be covering the event as a whole rather than granting news coverage to individual coins? Likely. The connections that would be made and the experience itself would be incredible and something I would love to take part in.

I suspect that there's a large botnet that monetizes by mining RIC and uses the DDoS to eliminate the competition. But it could also be a pool or something - others have speculated, for example, that Simba is actually responsible for it, to try to maintain a monopoly on the pool fees. I have no information one way or another about that. But it's usually the case that following the money is the path.

I traced some of the major solo addresses that showed up around the DDoS start to their Poloniex deposit addresses and reported them to a contact in law enforcement to see if there were any leads they could follow up on. Haven't heard back, but I wouldn't expect to. I posted about the analysis about six months ago.
