You can post your predictions there if you wish, though this is not required. This thread will now become the discussion thread for the pool.

The prizes will currently be awarded as follows:

1st: 0.09
2nd: 0.04
3rd: 0.02
4th: 0.015
5th: 0.01

The prizes will be adjusted slightly if more people join. There will also be some small consolation prizes for the top 5 users who get the highest points from a weekly round, so even if it becomes apparent that you are unlikely to win as the tournament progresses you still have something to play for.

Consolation prizes for the top five users who score the most from a weekly round:

1st: 0.01
2nd: 0.005
3rd: 0.005
4th: 0.005
5th: 0.005

Please note you will only be able to win one of these consolation prizes.

I expect the bitcoin price to be a lot higher than it currently is by the end of the season so the pot could be looking very tasty indeed.

Who knows where it will go, but a rise during the season again will be a nice bonus.

Awesome hilarious, thanks for that. The weekly round prizes should keep people interested even if they tail off as the season goes on & find themselves out of contention for the main prizes.

Just 1.5 hour to go before the EPL officially starts and I have put an upset result for many for the first game of the EPL. I think Man.United will have a difficult time to win here, or at maximum they will have a narrow win against Leicester city. I also bet on under 2.5 goals for this game.

Robbed of full points by a 92nd minute Jamie Vardy goal. Disappointing. Not to worry though, I've got 9 100% accurate predictions coming up in the next few days.

Well, I predicted 2-1 Leicester, and had Vardy been on earlier (boy, was he lively) and that silly penalty not been given away, who knows? But such is the risk of backing the unlikely result. Odds were over 7/1 for Leicester, but I was taken aback by how well they still could play even after losing Mahrez. Some confusion in midfield for sure, but the way Childwell (sp?) kep roving up gives me hope that they don't go down this season.

Not a bad first game I'd say. Even Mourinho looked super relieved.

I got quite a few against the bookies this week too. Let's see.

I had 1-1 and I think without the penalty the game would have ended in the 1-1 result. Boy was I surprised when I saw all those people with the correct score, good start for the Betting pool by them. Still I predicted a lot of upset results in today and tomorrow games, let's see how it will go.

I told you about 2-1 being a very popular score:

I am tempted to try 1 strategy for the whole season in a separate pool: just predict 1-1 draws for all the teams every single week,,, if I recall rightly, there was one season where there were 7 teams who scored 1-1 in one week. But I think 7 correct scores if you make 10 pools and try everything, you have 10 chances every week, and 38 weeks = 380 chances.

Well you're certainly free to try and who knows how well it will do, but I don't think 1-1 would be the score to go for nor do I think sticking with one result will do you very well in the grand scheme of things. I usually find 2-1 is a very popular score, but I wouldn't want to back it for the whole season and wouldn't be much fun for me doing that. However, if you want to pay in another 0.0005 and have one for the same score as an experiment feel free to join on another account.

I wonder how well you would do backing it for the entire season.

Yes you are doing great, however I see something common for many people taking place in the pool betting, never seen a score that starts with a 3 , and maximum I have seen is 2 , this may result is some deceiving in the longer term. This is my friendly suggestion to all.

Interesting scoring system, I didn't know we will get 1.5 points for close score, probably half players will have very close results in few weeks.
So far I have 3 close, 2 exact and 2 miss and I see several of us received 1 "slam point" which adds to total score, but not to points 





Does anyone know what is "slam point"?

Slam point is awarded to the persons with the most correct scores in a single round of 10 games. It used to be 5 and up , but apparently it is being given even if you get less than that. For more you can see the explanation here.
