Even though Liverpool didn't play to their standards they still defended pretty decently if we don't count the mistake by Alison. The thing is they haven't hit top gear yet, and they are still taking all 3 points. When that front 3 start to hit it off with Keita feeding them they will be scary good.

Hopefully! I’m in my early 30’s & was too young to remember the last time we (Liverpool) won the title. My Dad lived through and saw us win everything.

I am a Spurs fan here so in fact even if I was much older I would not really recall a time when my team won things regularly,,, and also I would have always had watched games late. In my country, we did not get to see live matches except for when the program Road to Wembley would come on and we could watch FA cup live and it used to be also really late so you had to watch TV with the sound low. So I notice many of my colleagues who support English teams we only grow up reading the old football magazines from our fathers but we love hearing stories from the older people about the teams. Too bad I hear so few stories about Spurs but I would love to have stories to tell people about them one day;)

Problem Spurs have now is that they’re close to the completion of their new stadium which has cost a shit load of money. It’s likely been paid for by massive loans which will take years to pay off. Evidence of this is that they signed NOBODY in the summer. It’ll continue for years, Poch will leave & so will their best players & they’ll fall away from the top 4 next year or the year after & they’ll hardly have any money to spend.

They’ll recover when the stadium is paid off but it’ll take a while.

I also thought that they already paid off at least majority of the stadium and that their transfer policy was result of a choice and not of missing funds. Whatever, Levy is very shrewd businessman and I have no doubt he will take care of financial side.

That being said, I heard that they had some problems with floods on the new stadium. That will probably mean some extra investment to take care of the resulting damages.

The last time I was home on my not so little island, I had the opportunity to visit a remote village. Saw a Liverpool scarf from before the Premier league even began, adorning a small altar to local football greats.

I think it's great to see all these English club supporters from so many generations, even though they may not recognise the sport today. And Spurs have a great fanbase even without the trophies, so I wish them and any team that plays attractive football well.

Of course, Liverpool is who I dream of getting what they deserve but for the love of football, let's have a season to remember!

Probably. Spurs have a young squad that can be developed though. They also have some promising youngsters that they could potentially look to integrate.

They've had a slow start to the season to their standards, but they are still picking up points. Now that Swansea has left the Premier league, I think I'm supporting Liverpool to go on, and win it.

^  Yeah but the thing is, judging from Daniel Levy's history, I think he's gonna sell some of his players and buy some younger ones with potential, build them up, and if they reach their potential, go sell them.  It's more like a business for him than a glory seeking endeavor.

Possibly. But, he hasn't got rid of the best players he has right now. Kane & Eriksen look to be staying for at least the next few years. Kane seems set on staying. I'm not sure if Spurs is the team that hes always supported? But, he seems pretty loyal.

Levy might be known as a seller, but Spurs have made some progress recently, and I think he's looking towards success rather than wheeling and dealing these days. At least that's what he should be doing.

I mean look at how ridiculously high City got Kyle Walker from them.  It was kinda worth it tho but how much years does he have ahead of him?  I think he's 28 - 29...  So prolly another 4 years at the club.  Not bad I guess, but still a little expensive for a right back.

Thanks for reminder, maybe not all guys here aware that international break has ended and club football returns. Well, I didn't forgot about it, usually I'm puting my predictions just few hours (or few minutes ) before kick-off of first match.
For me it's very difficult to pick result of Tottenham - Liverpool and Watford - MU matches, I still didn't decided who are going to win it.

I mean look at how ridiculously high City got Kyle Walker from them.  It was kinda worth it tho but how much years does he have ahead of him?  I think he's 28 - 29...  So prolly another 4 years at the club.  Not bad I guess, but still a little expensive for a right back.

Hasn't Kyle Walker also had a history of injuries? I'm not sure if he was worth that amount, but I guess he is since the prices have taken a massive hike recently.

Really hard to say for me. It's away for Liverpool remember, but Spurs are still playing at Wembley so not exactly like it's their true home turf either but they did play there all last year obviously. Don't think I have the guts to back Liverpool so I'll probably stick with a draw as Spurs aren't going to be easy either for Liverpool.

Anyone think Palace will beat Huddersfield? Skybet's enhanced accumulator is Chelsea, Arsenal & Crystal Palace @ 7/1 which I usually put them on, but I'm not so sure about Palace away. I'll need to wait and see if Zaha is playing or not because if he isn't I don't think they'll win. More likely a draw probably.

Yup, it's a crazy market.  The prices clubs pay today for defenders and goal keepers (hello Liverpool) are so ridiculous...  10 years ago if somebody said that this current market was possible we'd be like 'huh?'.  But that's the market.

I remember Vorm was pretty decent at Swansea.
