Even without your wishes, this Newcastle team will not make it past the group stage of the CL unless they make some big move in the summer with some oil money. shame Manchester City, Arsenal, Man utd, and Newcastle United will be representing EPL in the CL next season it would be the weakest representation ever without Liverpool and Chelsea since we know only City will make it out of the group stage, the other three will be heading to the Europa league as usual.

What's the point in the strength (there is still a question of whether it is) of Liverpool or Chelsea if they are destroyed by the first strong team that meets them in the Champions League? If Arsenal, Newcastle or United are lucky with their opponents they could even repeat last year's run of Liverpool all the way to the final - as I remember they had a very easy path.
Of course, it’s unusual to see the Champions League without Chelsea and Liverpool, but on the other hand, I’m already tired of the same games every year (Real generally has the same opponents in the playoffs for two years in a row).

Liverpool's path to the final last year will be funny- they played Inter Milan, Benfica, and Villarreal on their way to the final. Lucky Bastards.

I said it in this or in another thread i dont remember good when, but yes i think the same, its only ONE game, and everything can happen, also the previous lose of Macnhester City against Chelsea in that final its a very strong precedent.

I also think if Guardiola doesnt win this time with City he is not gonna win never the UCL with the City.

And best way to get City ,is either take the game all the way to penalties or score one early one and park the bus, the Italians should be good at this

would be glad to see this outcome, but cannot imagine that it is going to happen this year
quality difference is just to big to hope for that, there are teams that could compete with City, but they have kicked-out Bayern and Real this year, so can't say that had it easy in any way, and Inter is just to far from those teams
(if needed to predict Inter position in Premier league, they would probably be in lower part of the table, kicking with Fulham and Crystal Palace, if not fighting for relegation)

I don't know what to say about them,if they don't win this time the Champions League then I will bet everything I have that they will never ever win it in their lifetime.The odd of Manchester City is just 1.40 for a final clearly showing the huge disadvantage both teams have against each other.Manchester City is just keeping pace as yesterday they didn't win against Brighton and I saw the game,not because Brighton played better but because they don't play for anything as they are already Champions of the Premier League this year and their full focus is now on the Champions League.

I would also love for Inter to win and a 2/2 with an odd of 15 would be a bet I will try with little money to add a bit of spice to the final.

I would strongly oppose your opinion or is it an analogy, without any other changes to this Newcastle side they'll do well to have advance past the round of 16 of this about to the concluded champions league, so unless there is general significant change to all other teams that will be present in the next season champions league, I don't believe Man United or even Newcastle at a risk of underrepresenting the EPL in the Champions league.

They had an amazing season, but it doesn't make them an elite team just yet; the CL isn't the Premier League, where you have many games to make up for bad ones. Looking at this Newcastle United team, we can agree that there are only 2-3 world class players in the squad, the other players had one of their best seasons and might dig next season.

I don't judge team based on just random recency biases and ifs or buts, I only judge based on the fact presented to me or I have access to, It's fine to assume that they are only having a good season, but If they have a good season in the Premier League, why would think it would be the other way in the Champions League, every English team's performance this season in the CL is almost proportional to their performance in the league as well, hence my opinion that wouldn't have had problem passing the group stages in this season.

You listed the quarter final teams, that's an extra round after the round of 16, but still speaking of this season I doubt there is any of the listed above that Newcastle would not have competed fairly against this season, They lost only 5 games so far this season in the PL and conceded joint least number of goals as Man City, so why would I expect any difference from them.

I think that Manchester United of this season cannot be taken as a reference team,they had a lot of up and downs but most likely they have improved in these recent times and I think a few reinforcements will do good to them.For them I hate their coach as he was responsible for making Cristiano to go away in Saudi Arabia while I believe Cristiano has enough to give more to whatever league he plays,including the Premier League.

I think that for next season there is enough time for all the teams participating in Champions to get a couple of new players,harmonize them in the team and be ready to compete at a high level there.

I agree with you.He used Cristiano in order to make a name for himself and he showed not care at all for Manchester United as a team in his beginning so he started to leave Ronaldo on the bench as his name started to be seen in the news.It worked out well for him as he from not a so well known coach immediately skyrocketed himself to a very well known one by his doings.Now for Manchester United I don't think that it worked really well,they were lucky to get to Champions League and this was not because of them being a superior team but because the other teams really lost pace during the second part of the season and Manchester United took profit from it.

While I think they can pass the group stage I don't know with this kind of coach.

Some people who are in love with Ronaldo will hate Tan Hag for making him leave, it wasn't really him that made him leave neither, it was the fact that he wasn't getting minutes, instead of being fine with that and working hard to get back in the lineup, Ronaldo decided to side with the money and left, I think it was a mutual deal.

Looking at how they are doing this year compared to last year, I think we can easily say that they are much better this year, last year they had a much worse situation and that is why I can understand how they are doing right now. It's obvious that not many people will be able to see that, they had Ronaldo last year, and not have it this year, and look at the difference to see how it wasn't really a terrible decision to begin with.

It may look like you describe it but trust me if Ronaldo were to be playing it would not be eliminated in Europa League by Sevilla this time which is the biggest disappointment of the year for all United fans,especially knowing the bad form of Sevilla during this season and Manchester were knocked down 3-0 in Spain,I bet a lot of money that this would have never happened if Cristiano was playing with them.

Well one of this two big teams will be relegated. Leicester missed their chance to win the last game in last minutes to make things complicated even more. Everton has a perfect chance to win against a weak opponent that like you said dosent need points. Plus Leicester has a hard match at home but still this is the last round and anything can happen.

Brendford against City, it may look too hard to win or draw against City but in their home ground they can create an upset, City is not going to take this match seriously.

Tottenham against Leeds, it looks the odds for Tottenham to win the match is high.

I don't think Newcastle will just make do with the current players while they are a member of the Champions League group stage as of now. They have a lot of money to spend for transfers and the owners should be very eager to increase the squad quality significantly this summer. It would be the best for Newcastle to do so because they might have serious issues in the Champions League otherwise.

They haven't been a part of this tournament since like the 2003/04 season if I'm not wrong. If they want to close this experience gap with something they can do it with only big transfers. Therefore finishing the EPL season in top 4 is very important for them. They can be more convincing for top players to choose Newcastle thanks to that.

It looks like that but not only on the Premier League,the fight for the spots 5-18 in the pool is wide open as there are another 30 final points in play in tomorrow games and I predict to have quite some surprise results and upsets.The reason Tottenham have an high odd against Leeds is that Leeds is playing their final game at home and they are in a fight for avoiding relegation and they must win that game at all costs,hope Everton loses and they will be saved.The same can be said for Everton,who needs to win at all cost their home game against Bournemouth in order to be 100% sure of avoiding relegation.

While for Villa and Brentford game anything can happen as they are playing in a more calm way and they are trying their best to be in an European competition spot.
