It cost me too much that Liverpool couldn't benefit from numerous goal opportunities after getting 2-0 ahead against Everton on the previous week. Still it is nice to have a consolation prize. I was thinking that Liverpool would be victorious against Newcastle. However the game on the field didn't satisfy me at all. If they can't step up a gear against Real Madrid I think Liverpool will have a quite difficult job.

After getting the most points last round now i'm on pace to get the wooden spoon this round lol. I wish I didn't change my Brentford prediction an hour before the match started as I initially had them 1-1.  

I'm putting my last hope on the two home favs later today, surely both of them won't lose or end on a draw right?

Yeah sure, keep telling yourself that and maybe it becomes true  

I am aslo awful this round, first time this season I am dropping this far away from paid positions. Yesterday results were impossible for me. I got rektd in betting as well. Hopefully I get something back today. Home wins with lots of goals should cover me nicely.

Wout Weghorst had a wonderful worldcup campaign, but bringing him to Manchester United I feel the manager isn't vindicated..
How the hell does he miss all these chances to the point of his teammates trying to set him up for tap ins and still comes short???
For a striker these are bad numbers, maybe its the first season syndrome at play but I feel his failed to settle in with the Red devils:P

Holy crap I didn't even realise it. Did some rough calculations and saw I was on 8.5 points after last night's win. I'm like cls63, thinking it's a shame we didn't get 3-0 (that was my pick for 2 games in a row and we missed by a goal in both situations).

United spoiled my party, but gave yatty89 all they needed (who's this again?) so hopefully my faith in Spurs is rewarded later.

Newcastle 0-2 LFC (Full time)

A bit of an uncomfortable 2-0 victory for me as a Liverpool fan. We should have won a lot more comfortably but I will take the win & move on to the next game. Newcastle fought well especially when you consider they went down to 10 men.

Back to back wins now for the Reds. Top 4 isn't looking so far away but first a titanic battle with Real Madrid on Tuesday.  

Didn't watch 2nd half but they were still threatening in first -- 2 attempts on the post, not to mention some great Alisson defending. But a win's a win and we did cause Pope to panic, he went SO high up to defend twice, got unlucky on the second.

Oh... how did you come up with the idea of betting against United? Especially having a chance of getting the yellow cap if the favorite does what it has to do - win? 
By the way, what about Tottenham? Quotes for their victory were initially extremely generous - 2+. Now after the first half it's already 2.18 and the score is still 0-0. I don't understand why this team should be in the top 4 and qualify for the Champions League if they can't beat an outsider at home.

Just checked my points in the pool for this match week, 4.5 points hmmmmm. I used to be good at this, I won the pool a few years agp, came third another year and I was second in the Russian World Cup. Since then it’s like I don’t know football, I’ve been terrible haha.

I've said it before, however this season is ridiculous. No team has any consistency, and it shows in the standings. Just look at some of the quality teams currently sitting towards the bottom of the table, and then some of the lesser quality teams around the top. It's a crazy season, and I don't even know what's caused it. I don't think it was the world cup that interrupted the season, but that did kind of put me off from watching as many games as I usually do.

I've respectfully withdrawn from my predictions formally into superbru as a result . Nah, I missed quite a few rounds which meant it's pretty much impossible to actually compete any more, especially when I'm not watching as much football this season.

Well shared with the leader yatty89 (yeah, who are they on here?) prior to the last match Tottenham that just ended about 15 minutes ago. But he was at 11.5 and you were at 8.5.
So don't know how the calculations of the points came out at the end of the tallying but it was in your favor with a couple of bonus points.

After a miserable day for betting yesterday,well except for that awesome return of Liverpool and that dramatic win of Arsenal,finally today both games came in as predicted and both Manchester United and Tottenham won their game.Luckily enough I got one place up in the standings but it does not mean anything as at least 14 places from 24 to 10 share just 12 points of difference and anything can happen,we are missing just another 14 games in total until this Premier League ends and things look pretty interesting in the pool standings so far.Unfortunately we have to wait until next weekend for the next Premier League action as in midweek we have Champions.

I think the only thing that can be said is that it's been a strange season, and it's been hard to predict. I think the teams that have been able to stay consistent and keep their form have been the ones that have been able to stay at the top of the table. It's been a strange season, and I'm sure it will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the end.
Luckily today I had a correct prediction for the Tottenham game which made me earn 6 Points.

In fact, the season so far is the most common in terms of leaders - for example, Arsenal have 78% of the possible points scored. In the season before last, City became the champion with 75% of points scored.
If we are talking about the failure of such teams as Chelsea and Liverpool, then on the one hand this is unusual, but on the other hand it is inevitable, since there are a lot of top/near top teams in the league and the competition has grown.

I thought hey, Leicester, hey Rodgers, maybe they wake up, Maddison a couple of goals, etc. Didn't even check lineup to see if he was playing. Re Spurs, a bit crazy the hate Son's been getting from his own fans... fickle people. Happy to see him get one.

Consistency is key to moving up the table. Just getting average/slightly above average rounds will make you crawl up the table and the big wins give you the boosts up you need to breakaway from everyone else.

I am very consistent but my problem is that I get occasional bad match day instead of good one. So I am doing a bit above average to get from 15. to 10. place over 5 weeks and then in one week I drop to 20. But it is still way better then some of the guys I know are very good at predicting Premier League so can't complain. Also managed to get one yellow cap this season which was enough to cover fees so only profit now.

I literally don't have a clue what's going on this season, and like I said this is the least amount of football I've watched in the last few years.

Also, doesn't help I've had a few events during this season which has taken me away from it all. I forgot to predict quite a few weeks . I wonder where I'd be if I didn't, at least three spots higher I imagine.

In Premier League the 20 teams have tons of money and you only can put in the pitch 11 players, so you can buy X star but other its also buying other star and you cant have all the stars because you cant put them in the pitch, so we are heading to a football where all the teams have superteams in term of stars or future stars, but you are not gonna know never if this season can be good or bad.

In addition all the players are supertop so its more like a chemistry between players than skills of them. What are the main diference between top coachs? How they manage the locker room.

Cohesion has always been one of the top factors of a team being successful or not. It's why United were absolutely terrible despite having world class players. Liverpool still have world class players, and I don't think they've lost that chemistry, but rather lost the motivation. I was just talking about it in the Fury vs Usyk thread, but as soon as you reach your goal, i.e Liverpool winning the Premier League, and Champions League you lose motivation. So, we could be seeing something similar here with the players at Liverpool. They aren't as motivated for success. This might pass, and I imagine it's also a combination of teams learning to play against us, and also aging players.

Klopp has always been the best man manager for me, even before he was at Liverpool. I remember saying to someone when we were rumoured to sign Klopp, I said something along the lines if we get him, it'll be our best signing ever, and I was absolutely spot on. The guys a gem, not perfect, but a damn good manager.

mostly agree with this, some teams have better players than others, and we have to admit that, but between same level teams locker room makes a difference (and some tactics, if you are Jose Mo, and don't mind having all your players in your own yard)
but, overall, good manager has to make harmony in the team, and Klopp failed with Mane and Salah (Mane obviously felt not appreciated enough) and that is a main difference between this and last season, some players are not seen enough until they left

Something positive to take away from this is that at least Liverpool are performing better than you, 

I'm currently sitting 22nd, but honestly there are some fine margins between these positions, a couple good game weeks and you're back in the bigger picture, but it's getting harder since were approaching the final third of the season.
