lots of bla bla bla Just because someone is not a programmer does NOT mean they don't have ideas or can't be useful in strategizing a profitable plan. Lets be brutally honest, programmers don't make games, programmers don't design the software and programmers don't make marketing decisions. Oh hai Bill Gates, here TheMightyX is saying that you're not a successful programmer. I think you should give him you dollars and return to your basement to write BASIC programs. Are you really that ignorant of tech history? Gates bought Q-DOS from another programmer named Tim Paterson for $50,000 and furnished it to IBM after negotiating the rights to license the OS to third party OEMs. IBM agreed to this deal in large part because they saw the rights as worthless. Yet more than anything else, it was that arrangement that allowed Microsoft to prosper into the entity it is now. If you think what made Gates successful was his programming vision, then what you are in effect saying is that his role in the growth of personal computing was actually interchangeable. After all, there would have been no shortage of people that IBM could have found to develop their BASIC computers and/or DOS PCs. It takes a shrewd entrepreneur to recognize the opportunity Gates did. And that, I believe, is precisely X's point. (Jobs also did something distinctly similar, first with Atari and then Xerox.) The bottom-line is, Bill Gates WAS a very good programmer, he BECAME and excellent business man and lead an extremely successful business that changed the world; his purchase of DOS is one of the first examples of this. TheMightyX said: Lets be brutally honest, programmers don't make games, programmers don't design the software and programmers don't make marketing decisions. Which is completely false and unfair to all successful programmers that have become entrepreneurs.

on this prices and diff. stuck high by gpu/asic farms... this can't be profitable to mine at all how about changing algo ? there are a lot to choose from.. X11, scrypt-n, X13(new), TWE, Shavit-3.. etc many miners know how to mine X11 by now and also scrypt-n (which looks like most profitable for GPUs at the moment) when everybody get their KNC gpu will be out of the scrypt game completely - already is for people who pay power bills

The algo is not the problem, KGW is the problem. Also, changing algos would not make it possible for us to accomplish our merge-mined plans.

When buy and sell walls magically change at the same time, it's not just many sellers/buyers, there's a huge whale moving the walls..

When buy and sell walls magically change at the same time, it's not just many sellers/buyers, there's a huge whale moving the walls.. It's very hard to market a coin and get enough buyers to increase the price when it gets raped mined and dumped on the market to the extent that it easily knocks down the price. Yesterday there was a few btc going on 5, I was buying it up so were others and more would keep coming onto the market, today there is 15 btc worth of meow for sale on 5 at cryptsy. This is the extent of the rape mining. This week alone 120 million kittehcoin have been mined and most of it - IMO - dumped onto the market. Unless this problem is addressed quickly I fear that kittehcoin will be going the way of the dodo. Is there not something that can be done to stop multipools from doing this? I was thinking setting up a miners against multipools where we alert miners to coins that are getting rape mined and they can join in mining that coin to neglate the rape mining. Would that help or is that stupid? I don't know a lot about mining.

Yep Unless this problem is addressed quickly I fear that kittehcoin will be going the way of the dodo.
KGW will be updates in the next hard fork but we need a stronger network to make KGW effective period. That is the goal of merge mining with (mystery coin)- buttress the network, give those miners some kickbacks for helping to support the network in the form of MEOW and then KGW will work as its supposed to. When the hash is so low KGW can't do its work effectively. To AdamG, Locoshibe and others who expected me on IRC as I mentioned on a few diff channels my fucking refrigerator exploded with regrigerant today (summer is starting here) and so all my food is now spoiling. Gotta love the timing Lost money on kittehcoin now off to lose more on a new fridge. Hopefully the kitteh-revival will help me recoup some losses. Just one thing after another for me. I will try to get on IRC after the new frdge stuff is taken care of but it may be late GMT time. I will def be on IRC tomorrow during the usual overlap period. Thanks, sorry bout this (fml).

it really looks like someone is floating the coin with buy orders so they can sell their coins off as high as possible.. BUY/SELL was at 6-5 then 5-4, now 4-3 next is 3-2 and then 2-1. Then cryptsy goes into LTC and we lose more money. luckily I bought in at 6 and am now hoping to sell my coins at 4 for only a 30% loss. To those that bought at prices much higher I am truly sorry for you

Are you selling? I'm buying. Tell me how much you have. I can exchange your MEOW for DOGE.
