Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

If you encrypt your wallet, that button allows you to unlock/lock it without having to use the wallet debug window.

Cool when will my first coins be sent out?

Another way you can get MINTs without buying them is through using the the MintCoin multipool at hashcow:  http://hashco.ws

Just sign up and make sure to go to account settings and change the payout to Mint.

Hashcow is doing this promotion right now:
We are approaching 1 week since payouts in MINT were implemented on http://hashco.ws  While I appreciate the new miners who have given us a shot and 'mined' some mint, the uptake isn't quite what I'd hoped for.  In an effort to try and get things going, I received a total of 1,850,000 mint in bounties for implementation.  If we can reach 300Mh/s in new hashrate that gets paid out in mint, and maintain it for at least 5 days, I'll give away all of it to random miners in the form of 3 prizes; 1mil, 600k, 250k.  (personal hashrate will play no bearing on the prize winners, 10Mh/s or 300Kh/s, you'll have the same chance of winning).

I'll post updates here on hashrate status if warranted.

Happy Mining.

Check out this post to see how this multipool works and how it benefits the coin and the community: http://www.reddit.com/r/MintCoin/comments/21yd31/why_i_moved_my_farm_40mh_to_hashcows_and_why_you/

I think Jeff Jefferson said he would pledge 300k as well!

yes, but it REALLY has to mint. otherwise it's just another android wallet of a coin. we need to make the difference guys. I also think its not that necessary to use an escrow. I think MINT users are sincere and honest people, am I right?  Roll Eyes

I also had the concerns about the upcoming android wallet being open source so the others just can copy it. So I would propose a simple not open source app at first in the google play store. Than after a month or two the source code should be released.

This is privately offered bounty for a working prototype, upon public delivery. Offered separately from other bounties that may exist.

So far the total is:

mgburks77:      250,000
stormia:          125,000
garicson:         200,000
jeff jefferson:   100,000
moderndezigns:200,000

Total:          875,000

Bonus for wallet that mints:
mgburks77:     250,000
jeff jefferson:   200,000
moderndezigns:50,000

Total: 500,000

Total Total: 1 375 000  Grin

I'm sure there are other people willing to contribute!

Looks like gonzoucab said he would donate for a wallet that is fully functional and mints as well. (Sorry if I am misunderstanding your post. I don't want you to get left off the list if you are, though!):

I can pledge 125K for when a fully functional wallet that mints is deployed.

Im also asking a developer for a twitter bot, maybe i will fund myself alone. is not too much. Smiley

We are better, we are greener we are mint.

Well stormia, i will improve my pledge, i will give the same ammount as you in the same conditions, whatever you decide i will apport the same!

Well, in that case, I will add another 75K of donations to the bonus for a wallet that mints! Thanks for showing your support gonzoucab and compelling me to increase mine Grin
I'll commit 35,000 Coins for an app that mints AND can't be stolen/repurposed for Blackcoin (or any other coin for that matter, I'm actually not a BC hater, I just prefer Mintcoin)

Ladies ladies, one at a time.

I agree it would be important for everyone contributing if this could be exclusively used for Mintcoin at least for the first few months. Not sure if possible but important for the advancement of Mintcoin

If the android wallet is based on open source, then it must stay
with the same license. Even if new code is added for PoS makes
no difference.

The screenshots I see in previous posts, looked like it's based on
the open source wallet already available?

Which if modified and released to the public must also release the
source code.

The wallet would have to be coded from scratch to stay outside GPL.

Bingo. Ripcord! Not sure I want to contribute to something that other coins will almost immediately heist and pawn off as their own. Think it's time to fallback and regroup.

With regards to the wallet I think we should wait to hear an actual developer's opinion on open\closed source possibilities.

I'm re-posting one of stormia's posts because I think the multi-pool is another good way for community members to show support. Make sure you check out the Reddit post below for a great explanation of how using the multi-pool benefits Mintcoin.

Cool when will my first coins be sent out?

Another way you can get MINTs without buying them is through using the the MintCoin multipool at hashcow:  http://hashco.ws

I'll post updates here on hashrate status if warranted.

Happy Mining.

Sorry didn't realise there is a restriction on what threads we're allowed
to visit and post on!

I'm interested in PoS coins in general, and would love to see a PoS wallet.
I've seen other coin devs mention how the minting will affect battery life.
So I'm curious to see the outcome, and yes would like to see a few PoS
coins with a minting wallet that I hold and not just the one you're referring
to.

Bingo. Ripcord! Not sure I want to contribute to something that other coins will almost immediately heist and pawn off as their own. Think it's time to fallback and regroup.

You could say the same thing about the coins themselves!

My post was to give info on the current gpl wallet, IF the Mint wallet was
based on that then fairs fair, you build on that and release the code for
others to use if they choose.

Best option start from scratch and the source never has to see the light
of day, easy and solves all your concerns!  Wink
