My problem with mintcoins seems to be solved. I switched to another connectivity and it started working, there were probably too many NATs in the way and poor upload at the first connectivity. Now i have 4 connections and the number is growing.

Can someone please help? I have tried doing exactly what was explained a couple times above regarding getting my MintCoin Wallet to synch. I am wanting to buy lots more MINT but I am scared I will never receive them if I can't figure out how to get my wallet to synch. I really like this coins but if the wallet cannot be setup by the average person (not computer whiz), then I fear the coin may be doomed. Can someone explain what I need to do besides what is explained above regarding creating the mintcoin.conf file? I have followed instructions to a 't' and still no synch :'-(
Do I need to do something on my settings --> options --> Main /Network / Window/ Display menus? Do I need to click on the 'Connect through SOCKS proxy' box and enter 'proxy IP' 'Port' & 'SOCKS Version' Numbers?
Anyone have any idea what else I can do? I fear downloading a new wallet because I already have 500,000 MINTcoin suppose to be arriving to my wallet deposit address. Very frustrating, all other wallets I have downloaded synched and worked automatically, never had to do amateur programming to get my wallet to function normally.
Dont want to lose faith in this coin so early but any help will be very appreciated. Again I have created the mintcoin.txt file and added the 'codes' specified above, saved it, then renamed it to mintcoin.conf. exited and restarted wallet several times. Repeated steps above again and still nada.
Do I need to customize any of the instructions that we were told to 'copy and paste' or can I leave them as is?
Thanks to anyone out there who can help me.

I don't have Windows but try this, open file explorer, paste this in the bar %APPDATA%\MintCoin, a folder should open with some files "wallet.dat" among them. Create a new file in that folder called mintcoin.conf, open it with text editor and paste addnode=184.72.188.245 addnode=162.243.4.85 addnode=115.28.140.128 addnode=113.135.64.107 addnode=27.33.253.164 addnode=86.26.190.235 addnode=153.19.215.115 addnode=115.28.134.205 addnode=223.152.73.253 addnode=122.178.204.154 addnode=115.28.162.160 addnode=81.108.157.78 addnode=180.112.221.68 addnode=120.144.87.195 addnode=31.53.158.152 addnode=50.102.222.206 addnode=60.182.177.105 addnode=217.118.83.145 addnode=119.119.151.106 addnode=218.77.97.176 addnode=182.112.134.112 addnode=106.68.126.251 addnode=195.38.122.80 addnode=162.243.4.85 addnode=62.221.120.216 addnode=49.66.59.73 addnode=124.168.123.204 addnode=223.198.48.85 addnode=162.223.48.19 addnode=212.247.109.253 addnode=188.162.40.67 addnode=24.49.13.97 addnode=203.208.83.100 addnode=91.2.7.117 addnode=80.123.21.76 addnode=14.148.0.173 addnode=64.58.130.180 addnode=89.168.237.30 addnode=122.224.95.209 addnode=182.112.134.112 addnode=95.89.180.80 addnode=77.254.241.222 addnode=92.13.231.33 save file and launch wallet, leave it running for a while. If you're under a restrictive network environment like work with scanning HTTP proxy or campus firewall this might not work but other coins would not work too - if you got any other wallet to sync you'll likely sync this one by following the steps above. The "addnode=" sections are taken from the first posts - it's the addresses of other known wallets on the network that will share blockchain data with yours. There is also a possibility to get your wallet to discover other nodes via IRC by adding "noirc=0" in your config but it didn't work for me with this one. Hope that helps.

I just met the same problem, and I found out the reason is, when you click the email confirmation link, you must already logged on MintPal, and you don't need to enter your account name and password another time, you should see a page showing "your Mintcoin withdraw has been confirmed" directly after clicking that confirmation link, then you'll receive the withdraw in one minute. Otherwise it will always be pending.

I was having the exact same frustrating experience and trying all of the %appdata% stuff, which as far as I can tell didn't do much (at least not so it was looking different than before I did it). Finally, I just deleted all of the Mint stuff on my computer and then re-downloaded the wallet to start all over again. Oh, by the way, if you are anything like me, you haven't had to deal with a zip file in a long time. (most wallets just automatically install, as you said). Anyway, my point is do not "open" the zip file -- "extract" it first. Once you do this, you will see "mintcoin -qt.exe". double click on that and a wallet will open. If you don't "extract" you will not see "mintcoin -qt.exe." I'm sorry if this is obvious to you, but I wanted to make sure I didn't skip over anything. Also, like these other guys are saying, it takes a while. There are no connections even. I've only downloaded a few wallets, but usually a connection is close to immediate. Just wait -- it looks like it's dead, but it's just a very sleepy wallet. Eventually a few connections hit and it becomes in sync. I didn't keep track, but it probably took an hour and a half to two hours to fully sync. I hope that was a help. I too almost gave up on Mint. I really like the coin, but if you can't get a wallet, then the fun is a bit diminished! Good luck!

How legit are those buyorders @ mintpal ?
What kind of question is this? They're all legit, we have about 2000 open orders over all our markets. We have over 200 BTC volume for MINT since we added a market for it.
