QUESTION FOR ANYONE IN THE KNOW:

When the 20% begins to be paid out or "minted" by the coin holders, how does it work?  On a particular day and moment in time, does the owners of all coins get the right to mint their extra coins?  If not how will it happen?   If I buy coins on exchange right now and have them in my wallet, do I get the 20% or does it go to the original miner??

You do. The person holding the coin long term gets the POS benefit.

I can't get the mac to work either.. tells me there is an error loading blkindex.dat and just shuts down after.. also on my pc windows wallet it won't sync.. even after changing the config file I am stuck at block 44xx.. been trying to get the windows wallet to sync for days I have no idea what to do

Well no, these numbers are figured in a way that minting starts after week 5, but I guess it would actually be closer to week 3.

You can get more mintcoin by mining profitable alts and buying mintcoin than you can mining mintcoin alone.

Well that's true for all coins, but I don't know of any more profitable then mintcoin mining right now.
2x 280x = 1.5Mhs = 500,000 coins a day at 6 sat = .03BTC a day, that's about double i was getting with Doge and we all know 6 Satoshis is low Not saying it will be the same next week tho.
