Excuse me sir but opening the mintcoin cliebt is exactly the same as opening the bitcoin client.  Roll Eyes

- It is not too hard to see that the file with the ".exe" at the end is the executable file. Even my mom knows that.
- You have to wait much longer for the bitcoin wallet than the mintcoin wallet.
- You can not tell me that you don´t know how to unzip a file. Nowadays nearly every downloadable file is packed.

This post is even more ridicoulus because you posted that you had run a miner. Nearly every miner in the interwebz is packed...

I don´t want to offend you but.. hell, man is this your first day on the internet?  Grin

As a pool operator, I run a LOT of wallets.  We have had zero problems with Karma, Leaf, Panda, etc... but the MintCoin wallet has consistently given us troubles.  Now, you might be OK with waiting 3+ hours for the blockchain to download, but I'm not!  We have gone as far as to set up 3 redundant wallets so that if one crashes and corrupts the blockchain, our pool isn't down for 3+ hours while it reloads.

The addnode lists being distributed around here are an attempt at a solution, but they're not a great one.  Most of the IP's listed are just normal end-user dynamic IP's.  This means that over time, those peoples' IP's will change and become useless... or they'll turn off their laptop, etc...  What really needs to be done is that the devs need to run a set of their OWN nodes to help stabilize the network and help people download the blockchain as fast as possible.  On top of that, they need to reach out to pool owners to encourage them to run full  publicly accessible nodes as well.

So, to all the people who are not having trouble- I'm SUPER happy for you.  That is GREAT news.  Consider yourself lucky. But remember that you are only one person, and you're not smarter than everyone else.  There are smart people who know what they're doing who still have issues with the poor quality of default nodes in the client as well as the lists floating around.

Please fix the wallet and the github release

We run many faucets at http://coinok.pw and mintcoin is the one that keeps falling... i have to manually delete the blockchain several times a day... plus it takes too much for blockchain to download... something is not working right, please fix it.

Guys, I have been in contact with Kopam...

He is sending me the graphics so that we can integrate them into the website.

As mentioned before, the newly designed site is scheduled for this Friday.

What domain are we putting it on?

My suggestion.. Is it possible to include in website a countdown timer to see the time left till 1 coin block reward and PoS switch momentum? Smth like http://topcoin.pw have. It is big promotional point for new visitors. To see that there is going to be a special event.

For a Coin to be added to coinmarketcap, it must have at least 1 month of age, which is not the case for Mintcoin.

The site is live. It is VERY rough now, not even a decent address (this will get fixed if there is success - I have plans for the name), but at least it works

http://of-might-and-magic.com/mintcoin/wordpress/.

Anyone who want to join: create an account then send me a PM. I will upgrade your rights accordingly. ShibeonBarkmont, kopam, nickenburg, lumeire, please create an account,  I thus will check if everything works fine.

kopam: you DO have skills for helping! What you might not have is time or motivation, but skill, you.
We do not need coders only. You can write? You can promote? Maybe you can even design? You can also welcome newcomers, help with transaction issue, let alone contacting merchants and dealing with marketing, advocating.. There is a lot of things you can do without being a coder!

lumeire: thanks for your offer. could you start by posting on the blog your infographics? Then take contact with ShibeonBarkmont for arranging the best course of action when it comes to promotion - your taks are complementary.

Let's start with gathering a team. And remember: this is open-source. The only this that is not open is the experience of the dev - the rest lays in our hands. Maybe some of you already participated in another coins - so you have experience too.

Don't forget: we are not working against the team. We are working with him. We are working to show him/her that we are good enough to alleviate some of his burden and make mintcoin more dynamic.

Let us make mintcoin succeed!

EDIT: I have a meeting in 30 minutes, so I will be AFK for several hours.

Hey, you are doing a great job ! I am all in for helping and developing the community !
I also cant wait to see the new community with ShibeonBarkmont as community manager.

As i said i personly can not do all that much but i got a designer the help out and create some banners etc ( sadly he is doing only logo designs, banners etc, no web design ).

So here are some version of what we have so far, please vote and say what you like and what you dont. I will try to get more stuff going, also any suggestions for banners, pictures, well pretty much anything just say it and i will try to get something.

Waiting for some opinions Smiley

I love it !!

I like the new graphics. I see they're in use on the sub-reddit, but it looks a little weird there, with the tiling banner. Good work though Smiley
