I was looking at the possibility of investing in several Altcoins as part of my trading by selling off Bitcoins. I do feel that with proper planning and execution, the profits that could be reaped through these Altcoins by day trading in a week would be far superior to that of Bitcoin.

It is true I am talking in terms of a short term gain. BTC is certainly a long term investment but what about the short term gains? As an example, even if I invest in 1000 coins of IOTA or 10000 coins of NEM, I am assured of greater volatility in the market for these coins compared to that of BTC. If NEM makes a high on a particular day even by 0.05$ USD, I would make 0.05x10000 = 500$ USD in a day if I sell all my coins at that price.

Of course, trading does involve many other practical factors which make things not as simply as I write here. But being a pro I can simplify the complexity and say that it is certainly possible to make it so.

But will this not be a way to make decent income every day? When you invest in cryptocurrency, it is a need for one to continually observe the market trends. When one is able to understand the intricacies of the market then it is better that he takes up (day) trading.

After all it is important we make money on a regular basis apart from the long term investment isn’t it so?
Yes I will trade bitcoin for some altcoins.  I have used bitcoin to buy many altcoins in the past and I am still doing that until now.  Investment should be seeing as an avenue to make profits and if you are not making profits it doesn't worth it but if you can put your bitcoin in some altcoins and makes good profits I think it is highly advisable!

Choosing which coin would be the most  profitable in the short term can be extremely hard, for me bitcoin is better than altcoins, you cant really compare them with bitcoin because they dont have volume  as huge as btc  they might look good now but end up with problems, no altcoin with similar  use cases will be able  to replace btc, its not worth the risk.

It is hard to say we should trade bitcoin to buy altcoin because it has two interactions. The First  we want to invest and buy altcoin, then there must be bitcoin or ETH in the change and trade so in this sense I think bitcoin is sustainable so you will take bitcoin to invest in altcoin and you trade them and  you sell it to earn bitcoin so I think bitcoin is more sustainable than the altcoin you want to survive to have bitcoin.

For now my goal is completely opposite. I will try as hard as I can in order to trade altcoins in exchange to BTC. I`m trying to grow in BTC before it will go to the moon again. Then I`ll be beneficial.

someone might sell bitcoin to buy altcoin, if i do not sell bitcoin to buy altcoin
Well it is not good to sell your bitcoin for the sake of altcoins, because bitcoin has higher value and more importance in market as compare to all other altcoins, now a day bitcoin is being high in value so I think we should be ready to sell our everything to buy bitcoin as we know bitcoin is the most promising currency in crypto market, so try to buy more bitcoin don’t think about trading it, as now is not the perfect time to trade it at increasing zone.

I will keep my bitcoin,  hodl it until it rise.  Maybe i will invest with altcoins and hold it as well.  Everyone will surely get more losses upon selling at its dip price.

I am thinking of diversifying my portfolio, so i have to sell some bitcoin to buy altcoins. As a part of my strategy, i am planning to buy some established altcoins and some newly listed altcoins.
Me too, that's why I started to convert my Bitcoins and also Ethereum to altcoins. Altcoins have much more big Return of Investment if that altcoins will pump, there are lot of people started to invest altcoins before and after a year, the altcoins is started to pump.

In my own opinion no one is perfect in trading industry theres always a time you will encounter error but like what my senpai said always be positive and trust your technical analysis by the way trading bitcoin to buy good altcoin is okay for me since many altcoin are performing a good rub even bitcoin are in dip stuation.

If you have a lot of time to monitor your Investment In different  altcoins then you're suit on this method. Investing In altcoins are really profitable enough but more risky rather than long-term period. It needs more experience to penetrate good conclusions, to avoid more lisses than profits.

You of course can do it, as buying altcoins you have a better chance of getting a huge profit. Diversification should be absolutely everywhere.

The innocence of the difference between these two excuses no one. It's funny to think that bitcoin will exchanged with altcoins-those with lower value than bitcoin. How could it be thought in the middle of this declining stage of cryptocurrency.
Imagine we are talking  not only about bitcoin but also the altcoin. And we all know that among all cryptocurrencies, bitcoin holds the highest value.

Crypto currency is volatile so we can't say everytime we get loss or profit. But day trading needs experience at beginner level it's very hard. And trading alts with Bitcoin is bit better because all alt coins follow BTC.

I think this is a risky deal as alts do not necessarily follow the bitcoin trends. Profit margin in bitcoin is also higher compared to crypto investment. But if you have enough experience to predict the market trend then definitely you can earn a lot through altcoin investment.

Yeah it is good to keep on trusting on bitcoin because trading your bitcoin to get money for altcoins is definitely foolish decision, as one of my friends do buying some altcoins and trust me he is regret of buying them because all of them are useless and scam, I am bitcoin investor and I only trade in bitcoin to increase my money so that I will be able to buy some more bitcoin, so I am not in favor of selling bitcoin to buy altcoins.
Almost everyone has their own strategy for gaining benefit in the world of crypto, and I strongly suppose you're all right choice whether you choose trading or investing on bitcoin or altcoins because if you get success in this market, it’s a good news for you. If you fail, it’s not too serious because you can learn from your mistakes and at this kind of market, you will always have chance to  fix your mistake. To me, I am a big fan of bitcoin, always I strongly believe in bitcoin more than any other coins. I therefore prefer buying bitcoin to buying altcoin.

I think that at this time we should trade bitcoin, can see that bitcoin prices are slightly adjusted to about $ 6600 and are tending to decrease, if the $ 6400 level is not broken, bitcoin prices will return. on the $ 7000 level and if the $ 6400 level is broken, the bitcoin price will fall to the $ 6000 level. Therefore, I think that you should not altcoin trading at a time when it would be very dangerous.

I will say yes to your question, because altcoins are more profitable than btc , but you still have to know the entry level so as not to get in lost, altcoins can give you 10x of what btc will give you in a year even if btc is bullish at that moment and altcoins is bearish as long as you enter at right time it will definitely gives a better results.

yes, if you are a good trader then you can gain more profit than long term investment even the market is down you can still make profit because some altcoins are increase.

Right. I do it often. It is better sometimes to change Bitcoins for different good altcoins. I think that cheaper alts like Ontology, Stellar, and TRON are good ones.
This is a subjective decision and depends on how you do the crypto analysis for the profit you can get in future. If the return in future for altcoin is more than that for Bitcoin, go for it. Also if the possession of altcoin can minimize the risk, go for it. Normally economists prefer a diversified portfolio. However if the above cases do not hold, better hold Bitcoin and do not change them for altcoin.
