I think the ban on cryptography will keep the country safe because it's good for not using it to unravel the country's problems  While cryptography has received support in many countries and has not received support in many countries  it's a threat to the people of the country if it's not legally managed  People are going to be greatly affected. If politicians do bad things by showing the influence of power then it's better to not use help without getting help.
