Noob Question: I was looking across several Ruby mining pools (no names!) and on one pool, a hash rate yields 1,800 coins per day and on the other pool, the same hash rate yield 180 coins per day. Why the discrepancy? Also, whilst on this subject, many mining pools quote the equivalent BTC/day...which never really seems to tally...is this to be taken with a pinch of salt?

Btw, the high one probably has more clients/hashing power.
It does have more clients (PM'd you btw) BUT... my hash rate is my hash rate. If one pool has more miners, it has overall higher hash rate, but  as a percentage my hash rate will be lower (paid less more frequently) - on the other hand, the smaller pool has a lower hash rate and my hash rate as a percentage will be proportionally larger (paid more less frequently) - hence, payout rate, in theory, should be constant - shouldn't it?

1800 rubies a day would required a lot of hash power from you. I'd say several MH/sec because at one point I had 3mh/sec pointed at ruby mining and I think my best day was a few hundred rubies. Diff was higher at that point so rewards are up somewhat but not THAT much.

The pool's hash rate should not matter in the long run because though a lower hashrate pool will find less blocks, the reward is getting split less ways. IT DOES BALANCE OUT. I mined on chunky and dedicated and got an equivalent amount from each, I just got paid faster and in smaller increments from dedicated because they have way more hashpower.

However, for it to "balance out" like this you'd need to mine for a couple days straight at least. If you change pools/coins every 6 hours or even every day you won't balance out the block luck.

i received bounty payment. They have some cool bots in #rubycoin.org on freenode.

also working on some online trivia game and poker game.

i don't know if its true, if the devs hold 67% of the coins in circulation, but so far they seem like honest devs.

Hi, How did you achieve this -> Did you ask them to consider your bounty via their Gmail address (subsequently disabled) or via IRC or via their reddit channel? Ive asked several times, but had no direct response. Just wondering if Ive gone through the right channels so to speak.

They closed the gmail because they were getting thousands of emails in it. They said they are making new emails which will help sort mail (ie maybe an email for support, an email for merchants, an email for press, etc? just guessing) so that they can handle it more efficiently. I will say this - I have reached out to a lot of coin devs asking for information and almost NONE of them answered their email and many don't answer their PMs on this forum. You usually have to hit up the IRC channel.

For everyone trying to smear the coin's reputation by saying the devs are trying to dump all their coins before they pay out the bounties, first of all they have paid several bounties out already and second, the market volume doesn't show anything even REMOTELY CLOSE to enough trades to indicate an attempt to dump 1.2 million freaking coins. See below for example:

I have explained this at least a dozen times on these forums but no one ever listens - coin launches are just like stock IPOs - there is a ton of interest/hype right when they launch, and the price spikes, then it QUICKLY DROPS. You can see this with literally almost every coin. They spike, then drop fast, usually within a few hours or a day or so of launch. Then they bottom out at some level, and eventually stabilize, and then if the coin is actually decent, being adopted, etc then it will begin to rise after a period of sitting in the gutter. This is the same process almost every freaking coin goes through so stop bitching and stop buying them right at launch like a dumbass and then complaining that they went down in value because it happens ALL THE TIME.

All you are accomplishing by crying about the value on here and yelling SCAM SCAM SCAM is getting a few more naive newbs with low risk tolerance to panic sell, thus dropping the value even further. So keep whining if you want to see your holdings decrease in value even more; start helping to promote the coin and get it accepted by merchants if you want to see it grow. It really isn't rocket science people...

The best place to interact with the devs is on the IRC channel #rubycoin.org - that's what I did.
I got my bounty within 5 minutes of delivering.

Here's the web link to the IRC channel if you don't have a client. http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#rubycoin.org

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you're right.

rofl....

I was just kicked by them in irc

* You have been kicked from #rubycoin.org by eth2 (stfu)

all i have been doing is asking them for proof that this is not a scam... what they tell me that they are doing stuff in the back end and check this forum for more info... so i do and the same guy is just saying that they are doing stuff in the back end... but no proof... they have been saying that for days now...

seems like people have been putting in work and only a select few get paid a bounty...

DONT INVEST IN THIS COIN... DONT TRUST THE DEV... THEY WILL BAN OR ATTACK YOU JUST FOR QUESTIONING THE COIN..  ALL I DID WAS ASK FOR INFO!!! WAY TO SPREAD THE COIN!!!
