is the main one not running properly? let me know!

No it's working.  It was my pc, not the pools.  I've thrown a bit at it occasionally, but no blocks.  I didn't try for very long though.

I gave up on pools and am solo mining, doing better out of that than I was in a pool tbh.

The Philosophy.

The idea is to create a

music collective anyone can be a part of (in all manners of affiliation). The time is ripe

to attempt such an experiment thanks to the Internet, technology and cryptocurrencies. With

the age of the Internet, it's a given that the sum of the talent outside any group is

always greater than those inside. We see this with open source companies and projects such

as Linux. Collectively, the sum of contributions made possible through the Internet to a

mutual goal, always results in wondrous new concepts
.

"The Cypherfunks" is such a

new experiment towards music. We are all part of one big band. We release music under this

collective, and we all have equal rights to "The Cypherfunks". Music is to be produced,

reproduced, shared, reshared, sampled, resampled in all forms and manner. Like Lennon and

McCartney famously collaborated within The Beatles, so can any form of affiliations come

together as "The Cypherfunks" to create and remix. Anyone can also play and gig as "The

Cypherfunks".

As bedroom producers, and garage acts, we know

that this is a passion: a passion we would like to continue doing. In order to sustain

this: "The Cypherfunks" is also a cryptocurrency. We can tip, pay and transact with others

in and outside of the collective. Like a rendition? Tip a fellow member. Perhaps "The

Cypherfunks" want to play at a local venue, but don't have enough money? Donate through the

Internet.

The Cypherfunks (FUNK) is

also a cryptocurrency (like Bitcoin or Dogecoin).

The cryptocurrency also means that if the collective releases great

music, we ALL become successful: enabling us to continue churning out great music to share

and remix. It is music, decentralized: attempting to be the world's biggest, and most

diverse band. We are ALL "The Cypherfunks". A decentralized band.

This is a community currency,
an "open-source" band. More details here.

Who is behind this?
Everyone. A decentralized currency, and a decentralized band requires permission from no one. We are all "The Cypherfunks". This community requires plenty of people to contribute. Software developers, musicians, promoters, miners and fans. Anyone

contribution is a great contribution. Join! "The Cypherfunks" lead developer, chief champion and back-up cowbell player is Simon de la Rouviere.

Make music with the world. "The Cypherfunks" is a decentralized, internet band &

i'm sorry, but it wasn't from lack of trying! plan was to compile all tracks existing on soundcloud (that meet minimum bitrate requirements) (can't do less than 320 CBR), but as i said above, everything i treied to dL this morning wouldn't play. is there another source? flacS would be great

Thanks Groggin!

Also: remember to upvote if you guys can [seems like there is always a downvote brigade there]. http://www.reddit.com/r/CoinedUp/comments/21f0oo/add_the_cypherfunks_funk_not_just_a_coin_also_a/

Also. News is spreading to some cool places! Might turn into something really cool. We'll see where it goes [and reveal it if it comes to fruition]. Epic.

Hopefully I can get that Android wallet soon. Full steam ahead.

I think there should be some serious consideration about switching the hashing algorithm before the Scrypt ASICs come out.

I think there should be some serious consideration about switching the hashing algorithm before the Scrypt ASICs come out.

I agree it's important that we keep everyone in the community happy (especially miners as they keep the chain alive). There's currently no silver-bullet for complete ASIC-resistance [if you are doing PoW]. It's going to always be catch-up. To hard-fork each time is just a recipe for slow attrition as a cryptocurrency community (especialy Cypherfunks), don't just consist of miners. As having to tell someone who is not a crypto-expert that their wallet just broke, sucks. You won't get mainstream, non-crypto users involved if this keeps happening constantly. It's a tenuous grip.

As I previously said. Let's get infrastructure to the point where mainstream users won't have to be worried about chain changes (ie web wallets), and then as miners, we can do chain changes without worrying about affecting the rest of the ecosystem. This will take time, dedication and hard work. And it will require the whole community to step up.

There are a lot of coins that are purely nestled within the crypto community. They won't ever extend out of this. A lot of them seem successful now, but their premise is built on aiming for inclusion in only one community (crypto-enthusiasts). For example, try explaining to someone why they would want Blackcoin or Bitcoin. They'll glaze over and not understand it. For us, in the know (of technical side of things), we GET that value proposition, but it's a value proposition that won't extend outside of this community. The upside of The Cypherfunks is absolutely enormous, far extending coins ONLY focused to cater to the crypto-enthusiasts, and while we are still small & nascent, it's important we keep that idea in mind.

Aosilu, does that make sense? btw, thanks for being a part of our project. Smiley

I still think being on scrypt isn't a bad thing. ASICs aren't supposed to be scary at all.

I don't own one and I don't mind them coming out.

Here's one thought though!

Mainstream noncrypto users HATE to fiddle around with thread concurrency, etc. Guess what - some algorithms don't care about specific settings.

Keccak or even Hefty (X11 too?) they do no require perfect settings to run at maximum speed.

if somehow we do consider to switch, do at least switch to something to make it more mainstreamfriendly. (and btw hefty, X11 and keccak are very power friendly)

Yeah X11 is really forgiving on settings. It'll run at maximum hash anywhere between I13 and I20 on some cards (R9 270s in my case). Being from the UK myself where power is insanely expensive power consumption is a serious consideration on any coin I choose. scrypt is simply not profitable in the slightest for me given that fact...

sweet :-)

as for the algos. i think keccak is forgiving too. i8 - i14 is about the same result too and nothing special set, all that counts is the gpu clock. same with hefty. running that at i10 with maximum gpuclocks^^ seriously, i'd think hefty might be the way to go for it being the newest, yet it has proven to be reliable.

Some exchange thoughts...

I just want to mention again the friendly exchange with cypherfunks FUNK  check it out if interested in buying or trading some FUNK.
http://www.cryptokk.com/  I do operate a sponsored coin shop here, they would likely sponsor a cypherfunks coin shop if asked
Cryptokk is sponsoring shops, to help some coin devs and some involved users. Contact our support team to learn more about our sponsorship program.

I was thinking of trying to get Cypherfunks FUNK listed on www.swisscex.com it is one of the better exchanges IMHO, but I keep voting at MINTPAL too.

Also I added cypherfunks FUNK for voting here and a few votes would go a long way since it is a new exchange.  I am not involved with them but pasted their blurb here FYI.
https://www.swaphole.com/

Why another exchange?
We are not your usual hobby programmer hiring some people to make a "secure" exchange. We are a company of trained professionals, based in Austria.
We guarantee a level of security a single individual would not be able to.
But yet, there are various reasons why we focused our resources on this crypto exchange:

Security!*
The design is simple, not dark and also not too colorful. It was made to provide a neutral environment for maximum usability.
Multiple order options including (but not limited to): Fill-or-Kill, Immediate-or-Cancel and Iceberg - multiple order types can be applied!
Market and Limit orders (as you may know from Forex)
A variety of Charts to reduce the time required for monitoring and watching to a bare minimum.
Charts scale with the browser window-size for maximum screen-efficiency and maintaing a balanced layout.
No personal data is being logged, because to us your privacy is as important as your security.
The project is based on highly scalable software and frameworks, to ensure the qualtiy of service even with increasing user counts.
We'll provide the world's first crypto currency index!
High volume traders benefit from our VIP Account program

* The main focus of this service is the provided security. A lot of effort went into planing and testing the application, to guarantee the much-needed security. All communications between you and the servers are encrypted.
A unique but yet fast withdrawal process secures your assets way more efficient than email confirmations, making this technique obsolete.

What about the name?
Swaphole is a one-of-a-kind service, we simply do not want to be your next best exchange, and the name simply reflects that fact.

Still unsure?

You can contact us here:
support@swaphole.com

Internet band high-five! Drinking some virtual beers from here with you guys.

Also: If all goes according to plan (nothing breaks horribly), I'll be able to get a beta of the Android wallet done this weekend. Soooo amped.

I'll help beta test the Android wallet for you. Just keep me posted :-D

Interesting.. both Novahash and Hashfever pools are down stating database problems on their Funk Pools.  P2P seems to be fine.  Anybody have an idea what our global rate is?  looks like it's up a bit even with those pools down as our diff has raised a bit.

That's odd... I'll ping them.

Global hashrate has been fluctuating between 10 - 40mh.

@jommy99 cheers! Voted!
