With spring around the corner it's a good time to start new projects. I'll provide a quick update to what is happening with FUNK.

The reasoning we have for making a two-way pegged side-chain with Ethereum is that it will provide useful enhancements, (such as security, risk, and performance) and improve scalability, but only indirectly by enabling innovation.

The two way pegging allows for users on the network to send the tokens back and forth between the main-chain and the side-chain.

The side-chain will enable developers to safely develop new applications without risk.

There of course are some drawbacks to a side-chain, and there are also solutions that exist to mitigate these drawbacks.

We plan on hiring a developer(s) to accomplish these tasks, and once we have made progress on that front I will be sure to provide an update on this forum thread.

In the meantime, feel free to peruse these related articles and white paper:

This coin is over 3 years old and still has plenty of blocks left to be solved, so it's not even close to dead.

Prohashing pool is getting a server upgrade today, that's why overall network hashrate is currently low.

Once that pool is back online, blocks should get solved more quickly.

Hang tight.

As for the development side, the devs we intend to hire for the project are busy building the MobileGo.io platform and GameCredits. However, things have been going pretty well without further development at the present moment. Once the devs are free to work on the Cypherfunks, we will see a more robust platform.

The developers for The Cypherfunks will be hired soon. The guys doing GAME are busy building that platform so it's not very likely they will do it.

Yes, the coin can be purchased on the LTC market currently on Cryptopia. That is the correct coin.

I hope that helps!

A few of the guys (including myself) that originally founded GameCredits will be spearheading the development, but who we decide to do the actual development hasn't been decided yet. I thought I should clarify because there is some appeal to the fact that some of the guys that started GameCredits (successful project) are definitely involved.

I'm very happy you decided to get involved in the project. Buying FUNK is one of the best ways to support the coin. There are definitely some good things ahead. Besides a bunch of great tunes hiding in my vault (I'm sure others also have unreleased tunes) waiting to be released, there's the prospect of a whole platform being designed around this coin.

This is not HYPE!

The best proof is GameCredits,Dev abandon GamersCoin, community takeover.Real money invested in development and product exist.More then success.
Simon don't have time to work with us, but he wanna participate as cunsultant.More then honest from his side.We like idea to build it on ETH platform.
Pretty busy with development of MobileGO and GameCredits IMO,but we are pretty interested in "music on the blockchain"
and there is no promise when we will start working on FUNK!

Best,

Nele

Great! Thanks for the honest information. I have a good feeling about this coin and just bought some more. I could see the future looking very bright for it!

I've upgraded the server hardware, and returned back p2pool's FUNK node
Forum:The Cypherfunks P2Pool: http://crypto.office-on-the.net:36363 || http://crypto.mine.nu:36363
Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://crypto.office-on-the.net:36363 -u Your_FUNK_address -p x --expiry 1 --scan-time 1 --queue 0
or
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://crypto.mine.nu:36363 -u Your_FUNK_address -p x --expiry 1 --scan-time 1 --queue 0

My version of p2pool is not related to the existing one for FUNK. Long ago, when I did it, I did not find the source code for coin's p2pool and made it myself. Now I made my version on the basis of the latest version of the bitcoin's p2pool and added an adaptation to the difficulty of the individual miner. So, there's no need to specify the difficulty with an address.

Who wants to install my version of p2pool, can download a source code from here: http://crypto.office-on-the.net/files/
