Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

thx for the tip.
I guess it takes quite a long time to sync if its that big? Have you been using it long and is there anything i should know before transferring my LTC there?

I have never had problems with it, but its always good to have backups. syncing takes hours and on slow internet may take days;
 but if you have slow internet connection or low RAM/ not enough space on harddrive, try Electrum litecoin wallet (you can find it on litecoin.org download section as well)-it doesnt download whole blockchain and its synchronised faster

Will it be possible to shorten the block time even further in the future?

and is there a fee for transferring the coins onto the wallet except the fee that the exchanges take?

denis-z12: only when you send them. not sure about electrum, but in core you can set the fee as high as you wish. but when its much smaller than recommended fee, transaction may be slow

looking into my LTC-core wallet now, the standard fee for normal speed is pre-set to 0.00443854/kB (for estimated confirmed transaction within 3-25 blocks), so it can be probably lower, and it can still get into next few blocks

Charlie Lee is fully engaged with ltc everyday on twitter. Even though he sold his coins according to him due to "conflict of interest" doesn't matter. Whether he's holding them or not he still has massive influence and continues to push ltc up with his updates.  It's just a matter of time before ltc skyrockets so please help yourselves by ignoring all the clueless individuals who keep push fud.

Litecoin is still a good choice to invest in, in my opinion. Price recovers fast and seems to stabilize.

If LTC be accepted by large retail chains the price of the coin will fly to the space. Now this coin is very convenient to use. I think that LTC has a great future.

Now this coin is cheap, if you compare the cost with the previous period. Do you think that soon the growth of LTC will be still or is it not the best time to buy a coin?

I think that it will continue going up so maybe now is the time if you want to buy some more like I did. Smiley

Will we see another great hit ? The predictions for the next price move do not encourage me to hold. Bitcoin is going to re-assert its dominance.
