I just checked out stats, and in the last hour, with less that 2% of the network hash, we have somehow managed 10% of the blocks. I can only imagine what more hashpower would do. Come on over, let's spread this hashing out.  Only 9 miners in the pool as of right now.

Make that 8 my measly 500Khz aint worth pointing at this coin anymore 

I would recommend looking to buy on the buy/sell thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=499954.msg5504479#msg5504479) as there are still many orders below what the opportunity price would be for this new level of difficulty. Or, wait until we launch on Poloniex.

Thanks LOL. I'm not complaining, I was lucky enough to be around at the stroke of launch, It's just a bit painful watching coins adding up in denominations of .01 etc. in a pool when I was finding up to 10 blocks a minute solo to start with, Especially when this is literally the only coin out of all the lot that makes me want to mine it!

I mostly lurk on these forums, have been for the past six months, but finally made an account just to say how much I like the devs on this coin. Been mining AIR for over two weeks and really don't see a need to move my miner to any other coin. As of right now I have BTC waiting in Poloniex for trading towards AIR when it is released.

We have just reached a difficulty of 8, which I believe is a new record high, along with a network hashrate of 454 MH/s. This makes the opportunity price for mining right now at 0.0027 BTC/AIR.

EDIT: 8.3, and climbing steadily, .00281 BTC/AIR.

Waiting on some media contacts who will help cover the launch, but provided they come through, tomorrow is certain.

Hashrates continue to rise, now at a Difficulty of 8.5, 465 MH/s, and .00285 BTC/AIR. We may break 500 MH/s before we begin to trade.

EDIT : Also, the opportunity cost may be around 0.003 by now... but history has proven that many miners don't take this into consideration when selling coins. Their thought process is more like this :

"ACK, the coins I've spent  a week mining are worth only 0.008 per Mh/d right now, I'll dump erverything before it drops even more !" and they have mined at a tiny profit and crashed a nubile coin.

I'm hurting for free time so other then the excellent discussion in this thread I havn't been able to read the more technical stuff. SO maybe I've missed it, but...

What does the AIRcoin team have planned to counter panic dumps like the one I described ?
