Can Cryptocurrency Stand Without Bitcoin?

That's quite hard to imagine today because the cryptoworld depends on bitcoin's presence. If bitcoin is not around anymore, a possible alt coin - ETH pairing will be readily available on that moment, thus, making ethereum to be the successful successor of bitcoin during that time but that will take so much time before the cryptoworld can recover.

I'm thinking of many logical comparisons where we can describe bitcoin has the highest position of them all.

But to explain briefly since there are too many posts that have said their opinions about the question and most of them told almost the same on my mind.

I'll only say to those that are thinking that crypto market can stand without bitcoin, crypto's will never be too strong and the same without bitcoin.

Bitcoin has been the king of all cryptocurrencies, already has a large edge, and been the benchmark of all other cryptocurrencies. Realistically, there have been other potential coins, ICO's in the market. In addition, despite the differences and its potential I still believe that each coin has its own strengths and weaknesses, it has different functionalities, offered great opportunities, and it's up to us to decide where to trade or invest. It depends how that coins strengthen its network, promote, and support its system for it to stand stronger and gain trust from the public. Better do background check, do research, and be strategic.

I think what you mean is a business cycle concept of businesses.

As you could see, bitcoin is the most successful crypto ever in the market of cryptocurrency and definitely would be the most of others. The question of why we should waste energy for mining is the same as wasting our time. It is economic and HUGE; I think it is better to say enough because everyone can mine in a simple laptop. The only point here is that people do not easily grasp the idea and usage of bitcoin. This is the future, perhaps if people will find its way and its usefulness but yes people would agree that it is nothing because it is the simple thing to understand...

Bitcoin is the king of all coins and many communities are deeply in love with bitcoin. So if crypto without bitcoin it will not arise crypto.
Crypto arises because bitcoin and bitcoin will never die during the internet network.

I think it is impossible that some other altcoins can stand up without bitcoin because, in my opinion, bitcoin is the reason why there are a lot of cryptocurrencies now. It is hard to imagine that bitcoin is gone but others are still there. It is easy now to convert our altcoin through bitcoin.

Bitcoin has been in the market for decade, and is the first cryptocurrency ever existed. It started from humble beginnings and become popular due to its great performance, extraordinary opportunitues, and the trust it receives from people who truly are aware and properly educated of what it is. At some point, in the existence of altcoins, I believe that they can manage to grow without Bitcoin because they too can potentially create a safe and secured environment for people to trust them. Though it may be hard because Bitcoin is now widely-known, but it takes time for other coins to prosper and be able to survive.

many markets are already using ethereum and tether / fiat as an exchange option, bitcoin already has an active competitor to become more stable in the next few years, many altcoin are preparing to be the solution of a bitcoin incomplete system, especially smart contracts, I am sure they has its own agenda to be the best and even wait for bitcoin in the future to get ahead or disappear in the global crypto market volume.

which happens to digital currency without bitcoin, I think there will be less financial specialists, and will most likely badly affect altcoin costs. bitcoin resembles a mother, which is the motivation for other altcoin.

what's more, I believe it's conceivable that another altcoin will supplant bitcoin, on the grounds that altcoin like ethereum continues rising. in any case, don't know whether bitcoin is lost, digital money will be all the more intriguing or not.

I think it will be harder for alt coins if bitcoin crashes or disappears from crypto world. And i don't think bitcoin is useless in term of usability. It has much more uses than many other alt coins.

Bitcoin to disappear? Not a chance.. Bitcoin and other cyptos work on peer to peer networks. You'd have to shut down all the systems and all the networks running it on a global scale . Needless to say, it can lose value and even get banned in all countries, but then again, will never cease to exist.

certainly not what you think, bitcoin is the first coin of a blockchain-based virtual currency, although today there are many new innovations even more sophisticated than bitcoins, but that is not as good as reducing enthusiasts to bitcoin. just look at the facts right now, none of altcoin can be able to compete tight with bitcoin.

Absolutely No, because of bitcoin crypto world became famous around the world and if bitcoin is gone, crypto will end up badly, maybe it can stay around 1 to 2 years but it will go down. Because no one will invest on it, most of the investors in crypto invest in bitcoin and if bitcoin is gone also the investors will gone.

How could a newbie thinks that bitcoin is useless in terms of usability? I think you have just forgotten that they both created at the same time. Bitcoin is the first currency in crypto world and has been established a strong foundation. Since cryptocurrency is not all about bitcoin alone, it could still stand even without it. But I'm sure, cryptocurrency will never be the same again if bitcoin disappear.
