With this capital we can have many portfolios or just want to target a coin, but my first suggestion is the biggest asset for allocation is bitcoin. because the overall movement is influenced by this coin and we must have it. then we can do research on which projeck is suitable for your investment.

My first choice when investing into crypto will always be bitcoins, but if you feel you have enough bitcoins and want to try to earn more bitcoins with altcoins then I would go after crypto project in top 50 on coinmarket cap.
Going after top 50 from the coinmarketcap is a stupid idea. For example, investing in XRP is nothing but a stupid idea since it's centralized. There's some more coin in the market like those. I would never invest on these.

I have got have $2000 to invest and I am planning to invest it into stellar, ripple, ethreum or else half the amount in but coin and remaining half in newly launched ICO. Which one would be a better option?

if I still have funds like you
I will trade daily to get small profit chips.
yes, in my opinion and experience, daily trading can restore what we have suffered for the past few times such as losses after accidents and prolonged corrections.
btw, I agree with the alt that you want to hold

I would go 50% in Bitcoin, 50% in big alts like Cardano, Stellar, Lite and NEO.

you'd better invest in some practical ICOs in the real world. a lot of air projects only steal your money. If u have no experience, pick altcoins. you'd better rank the top twenty coins.

At the moment, I realized that the new IEO projects are also very potential. So you can combine both investing in potential projects and investing in the Coinmarketcap Altcoins that will probably have more income.

with a capital of $ 2000 you better invest it in altcoin and you don't need to invest in ICO and your altcoin choice is pretty good : ethereum, ripple, and stellar have good opportunities to hold.

ICO for sure if you already invested to the ICO since you open this topic you lose the half of your money because ICO in 2018 was not good even now but we hope the ICo last 2017 will back this year so we can earn money again. Ripple and ethereum is one of my favorite coin and you have good choice of having that two coins.

Well, that's the reality because 2018 was mostly bearish movement and price were affected a lot.
But this year we might have a good year, so stay optimistic and keep holding, you don't panic and you don't lose, that's the rule here.

Ripple and ethereum is one of my favorite coin and you have good choice of having that two coins.

This are two obvious good coins, they might be down due to bear market, but will surely rise as the bulls is now consistent.

At least 50-70% in safe coins
Investing half the amount in newly launched ICO is pretty risky

For new ICO, i would maximum put 20%, even if they are really good and genuine
Especially with project nowadays, they valuated their own project too high which their token couldn't really catch up in their ICO price

Now, when the market looks OK, I would not even think about choosing any ICO. No doubt, invest this money in cryptocurrencies. Pick Bitcoin and several altcoins you trust. I like DASH and Monero, for instance.

It depends on your goal. Long term or short term, they are all good buy. Bitcoin is currently making its run and soon Ethereum, stellar, ripple and top 10 coins will  make theirs but then this is for the short term. For longer term, hold btc. We are already main stream with adoption just by the corner

Think everything firsts before deciding if what kind of trades you'll going to work with, different trading system also have different outcome results, be specific with goals you wanted to achieve and keep yourself always updated so you'll be able to find  projects that will make something good from your invested money,  Bitcoin for long goals and some alternative Alts can be possible for short trades.

In my opinion, $2000 is not such a large amount as to choose low risk options through a conservative strategy. It is an amount that you can afford to lose because it would not mean an irreparable loss, so it might be worth betting for some promisory ICO and choose a broad portfolio of cryptos below $1 and with good growth potential, but even invest in bitcoin or ether would also be profitable in the long term.

I would probably not include any ICO in the list of the options. Now, when the market is getting up after the shock, the new projects may not survive. It is better to invest in Bitcoin.

bitcoin is a very definite asset to make a profit. but other altcoins can bring greater profits. but you are right, don't choose ICO, except the IEO in the big exchange. maybe it will be profitable.

Bitcoin and ethereum are also good choices, and for ico you have to really spend your time researching them first, because if you choose the wrong one you will lose your money.

Both are the good coins and more you have it at less price better it will be for the long term as you will be able to make more money during the rise and will help you to get better returns on your investment if done in a timely manner .
