I would definitely put some on Bitcoin (300usd), Ethereum (300usd), XRP (200usd), NEO (200usd) and hold  the remaining 1000 usd  so  I can buy again and do dollar cost averaging everytime there is a big drop on the prices of the coins that I have mention.

it really depends on your risk acceptance but for me i would go with high R/R investment and put $500 in 4 different small cap projects that are fundamentally strong and forget about them until bull market comes back in full swing and you will be buying them pretty cheap bottom price most of them are below ico price, though bitcoin ether and XRP are safer good options too, good luck anyway

Good that you will invest half of it in the ICO, because it can really be more profitable.

That's a lot of money to invest and if I were you, I would invest it in a well-known coin so that I wouldn't regret anything about it. Bitcoin I think is best for a long term hold and I would always put my trust in it since I've had good enough profit through it.
