I compiled for my RPi, but after running a while, I get paging error. I tried increasing the swapfile size from 100MB to 256MB, I still get paging error. I have compiled for both dtbartle version and girnyau version, but get paging error after running sometime. I am testing with 1 Gold GS. Anyone else here have a solution? On Win, no issue, very stable, but not on RPi. I am using Wheezy image.

Quick question: Why does the frequency have to be changed in multiples of 50MHz? Or can it be changed by any amount?

the source code you use to compile only has those options set in it.

You probably plugged in 20 miners on the PI, this is a problem with CGMiner. When you click on the UPDATE CONTROLA link, it will upgrade your firmware to version 1.2.0, which has BFGMiner for scrypt hashing This solves the Cgminer problem. After this, your pi will be mining at a solid 7200mhs (and this time, it will also reflect on the pool)
I'm using for my 20 miner rig on one rasbian a clean weezy img + cgminer .... this works stable and reports 7.1 gh at the pool ... is there a cgminer problem? for more then 10 miners? Here a 4gb Hashra image ... be sure to change pools before mining ... it's set to my setup right now ... as I used to test it ... will try it out with 20 miners in a few minutes ... Hashra 4 gb imageyes CGMiner is not stable with the GD5 chips, It causes them to "zombie out" after a while. When 20 miners are plugged in to 1 CGMiner instance, only half of them are actually hashing properly, while still showing maximum local hashrate, hence the much lower hashrate on the pools. BFGMiner (installed on CONTROLA 1.2.0) works perfectly with 20 miners (or more? haven't tried more). I would love to see the performance of CONTROLA with 30 - 40 miners on 1 PI...anyone want to try it? Maxzilla, did you have anything to do with developing the HASHRA firmware? Saw your name as the default username on mine...Anyway, after the latest update that switched to BGMiner i started seeing 30+ reject rates on WafflePool only, other pools were fine. I changed over to Scripta which has been running rock solid for a couple of days now. Are all cgminer versions unstable and did I just get lucky so far? Hi ToxicOn. Wafflepool is not a very friendly pool for gridseed devices (high diff?) . From what I understand, even though bfgminer reports more reject rates than cgminer, both miner software have the same share submission level, so it might be that one of the 2 flavors is giving out inaccurate readings. (I didn't write the gridseed patch for BFGMiner, you can contact nwools for that). But the main difference between the two is, with CGMiner I'm getting significantly less pool hashrate than BFGMiner (especially when plugging in more than 10 miners on 1 PI), and that's what counts. I'm running 6 miners with no such problems using cpuminer. Does anyone know if it's compatible with Pi or other controllers? Probably not, right? But cpuminer is a piece of cake to use in any case! Has anyone inlined resistors already to lower the fan's rpm? Does this work and what resistor do you recommend? I would like to reduce the noise without removing the fan.
Yes, try this... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=519112.260Wolfey2014

Someone on here knows how to fine step adjust it by as little as 5Hz, or maybe 1Hz. I forget. I know there's another 50MHz or so overclock left in the current modification. I just have to figure out how to get cpuminer to do it. It's going to take some source code tweaks which I don't know how to make, yet Wolfey2014

Is this normal or do I need to reduce the pi to miner ratio?

Not missing that fan noise at all. Have my fan from my DualMiners pointed at it and running them all at 850 with no extra heat to the touch. Could probably try 900.

Wafflepool is not a very friendly pool for gridseed devices (high diff?)
Just wanted to clarify as this misconception is being repeated all over the forums: High pool difficulty does not negatively affect Gridseeds. Yes, it causes more variance and you may see initial hashrates as reported by the pool starting very low or very high, however over a long enough period (e.g. 24 hours) it will be close to your actual hashrate. Waffle's default diff is 512, CleverMining is 512 too, Middlecoin is 1024. I've been using all three pools, as well as GHash.IO at diff 128, and all reported hashrates are spot on - between 355-365 KH/s at 850 MHz per each cupcake, with reject rates no different than GPU miners.

Wolfey2014 Hi Wolfey2014. Good for you man. I love CPUMiner, but the thing is, it doesn't show you the hashrate / accepted / rejected shares. So you don't really know what the reject rate is (wafflepool doesn't show it either)

Hi, I have an issue on my gridseed. I have set up all gridseed (x10), and configure the raspberry. It's ok the firmware work and i can acces to rasp on browser. All my gridseed is on power with 2 psu, the fan turn on, but none have a green or red light, just fan turn on and that's all. what have i missing ?

USB cables? Seriously, check the connections between cupcakes and hub(s), between hub(s) and raspberry, check power to the hub(s). Green light should turn on as soon as you connect USB cable.
