I think this will turn around. I'd never really considered myriadcoin much at all prior to a few days ago, but a few important factors changed my mind. 1) Casheer. I've been watching Casheer for a while now and when they decided to grab MYR, that was a big deal. Casheer will give MYR (and whoever else they happen to add) a significant boost to publicly perceived legitimacy. 2) Prypto. I happen to be a Prypto rep and have seen which types of coins seek out that service. You'd be amazed what you can get people to be comfortable with on a plastic card. 3) Multi-Algo A) Everyone in the crypto world wants distributed hash. Giant Bitcoin farms make us uneasy, whether we want to admit to it or not. Multi-algo is currently best way to make the tech arms race unprofitable without resorting to something like PoS which has all its own problems. B) Someday, and it won't be too far in the future, a number of Bitcoin miners are going to start bailing out and they're going to want somewhere to go. How many 256-SHA coins are left? They're going to look at MYR and Digibyte (when DGB's multi-algo kicks up in a few weeks). On the other end, all these little altcoins are quickly facing shutdown unless they can come up with hashrate. The Scrypt coins could maybe jump on with Litecoin (though that seems a bad idea these days) or Doge (which is itself moving to Litecoin joint-mining) but the groestl and x13 and whatever else coins can't. MYR provides a way for cross-algo coins to support one another's hashrate. My point is that MYR is uniquely positioned for what's to come. It has avenues of acceptance coming to life and a remarkably resilient blockchain foundation. The Altpocalypse is just beginning and it's going to leave a lot of bodies on the ground. MYR can survive and though I've only had this little 30GH/s SHA-miner for about 3 days, I'm confident pointing it at MYR is a solid move. ..though I may have to make the occasional dalliance with DGB sometimes. Jared is flat-out nuts in the sort of way that makes you want to grab a bag of popcorn and sit tight. Either success or failure will be spectacular and entertaining and my bet is on success.

What big update is myriad coin planning? I'm seeing some chatter on reddit but I don't really get what myriad is planning to do.
Can anyone explain in a few short sentences? I'm not a techie which is probably why I don't get what's going on with Myriad.
Thanks!

Can someone add some color to the above comments? How big is Casheer, when will they be implementing MYR and is it already a done deal or just speculation? And the same for Prypto, I have never heard of them. How big are they and when will they be implementing MYR and on how big of a scale will the rollout be? Finally, why would casheer and Prypto choose MYR over other coins with say: best names in the industry, popular brand name devs, huge communities, popular features (ie anon, SMS, etc), etc... Thanks! Edit: One more thing, do you guys plan to merge mine MYR with Bitcoin? I'm asking cause I thought all the "magic numbers" were gone/taken? I hope that's not the case. Cheers!

I read through more of the thread and man, the updates and plans for MYR are really big and some very unique.
The one thing which threw cold water on the whole excitement [and I think this will happen to most new investors looking at MYR] was when I saw the huge inflation of 1,000 MYR per block and the MASSIVE 2 billion Max Cap dilution.
Wow. All these great plans but then you guys inflate and dilute this coin into oblivion.
So I have to ask, is there a plan to significantly cut rhe subsidy and max cap [and soon]? Cause it's no wonder the price keeps dropping hard even though some great developments have been made.
Some top notch coins have already done the equivalent of a stock BuyBack and so far it was well received. I hope the devs here seriously consider this cause it's a shame to see such great planning and execution go unnoticed and ineffective due to the sheer high inflation rate which adds no value and serves absolutely no good purpose but to destroy future value.
I did buy some MYR so I hope it does well. Good luck to the devs, I can see you're working very hard on this coin.
Cheers!

Indeed inflation is huge, but I do not think this will be changed, Myriad is one of the cleanest altcoin around and reducing supply is just like market manipulation to me. You will have to wait for block halving. This high inflation benefits to current adopter, it is still not to late to buy/mine Myriad, just do not buy all your stash at the current price but spread it on several months (do not try to catch the falling knife). MYR/BTC is still very bearish and I will wait to see if the current 42 satoshi bottom will hold another time before taking any big position.

It's all relative man. Obviously 1 MYR won't be the price of 1 Litecoin, but the same investment of 1BTC into both needs MYR to go to about 120 satoshis to double and LTC to go to about 0.02 to double. If you are looking at investments in any other type of way you are doing it completely wrong. Regardless though, thanks for the kind words about the developments.

Sorry about the delay there. Anyway, to answer questions. Casheer is currently in very early development. The dev even described it as 'vaporware' in a Doge thread this morning, though it's also based on Ripple which is itself pretty well-tested. A lot could still go wrong in just making the end-user interface but it's the biggest and most aggressive step toward multi-currency (USD, GBP, JPY, BTC, LTC, MYR, corporate rewards points, etc, etc) fluidity on a personal device out there. Prypto manufactures cryptocurrency scratchcards. Think of them like an iTunes card for crypto. My dear sweet grandmother will never mine a coin ever in her life, but we can get her in the crypto-economy with a friendly-looking gift card product. We have them in a few retail places in the US right now (a cafe in San Diego sells RZR, a comics shop in Durham and some 7/11 locations in Vegas sell DOGE) and won't stop until we're fricking everywhere. We will make buying crypto as easy as buying a bottle of Pepsi. Myriadcoin Prypto cards have already been designed and ordered (though I don't know what's happening with them right now) so wherever Prypto goes, MYR can follow. (along with BTC and whoever else survives)

Hello, I have Simplicity 0.2, and I'm trying to create my own .bat for running the Qubit mining for CPU since running the .vbs it crashes everytime. I haven't done a batch file in a while, but all it does if I run this
It just tells me to run minerd --help which there isn't a minerd in the folder. I have the pause there for diagnostics
Any reason it instantly closes? Got it working now @echo off color 0B minerd -q -a skein --scantime 2 --threads 3 --url stratum+tcp://birdspool.no-ip.org:5589 --userpass x:x Just have no idea what my hash rate is. Just keeps saying Detected New Block

Greetings, A new wallet for Myriadcoin, jswallet: http://cryptap.us/myr/jswalletA fork of RushWallet, this may work well for iOS devices. No hot wallets, this wallet is a random brainwallet stored as a url. Makes for easy disposable wallets. This is beta for now... Feedback is welcome. Regards, Edit: updated so that you no longer have to refresh the page for your balance to update (updated every 2min). Also, now you can view your brainwallet phrase and private key to archive in case any issue arises. If anyone has an "iProduct" and is willing to test the QR read functionality I would be very interested in your feedback. Regards, Edit: ticker price is now in USD / kMYR (USD / 1000 MYR for those scientifically challenged)... Edit: and now many other currencies other than USD. Edit: price is now shown from Mintpal instead of Cryptsy, their API seems a bit more reliable...

Just have no idea what my hash rate is. Just keeps saying Detected New Block
I'm not really familiar with the simplicity software, but if you're mining at a pool, you should be able to check your address/username at the pool's website, and see you're hashrate there.

Unfortunately minerd doesn't report hashrate or accepted shares for p2pools, so you'll need to check the pool's webpage for it. For an accurate reading, leave it mining for an hour, then go to http://birdspool.no-ip.org:5567/static/graphs.html?Hour then find your address. Look at the average hashrate and you'll get an idea of what you're pulling. If your miner is slow (cpu), you might need to wait a few hours...
