Swisscex has added EduCoin for voting. Considering the lower voting points needed to get listed, we are shifting focus away from Mintpal at this time. Vote here to get us listed at Swisscex!https://www.swisscex.com/voting There 24 hours volume shows maybe (iam being nice) 7 btc worth of trades https://www.swisscex.com/marketThat will only be a place EDU is dumped. It wont be traded. It wont get message board or twitter attention. Small exchanges dont help alt coins. I thought the plan was to not worry about exchanges? You really want a wider spread distribution and increased visibility? Focus on 1 solid exchange and get the community behind that 1. Contact that 1. Be active on twitter and mention that 1 exchange alot along with your plans. This will get the attention of traders and miners and when your on that 1 solid exchange your following is already watching. Just look at the 1 week charts on Zet, Cali, Pot, Tak, Wc, Bc (24hour), Hiro..... most have no Bitcoin forum community but have huge followings. Yes they have had alot of fluctuation, but each time the visibility has increased as well as the distribution. I have been in and out several times on all of the above and many others, some to increase holdings and others to increase Btc. But only on exchanges with liquidity. I am a holder of EDU, mining from start to 100k block off and on, but wont be for the long hold if the plan is a bunch of no liquidity dump sites. https://www.mintpal.com/voting has well over 5,000 Btc traded in the last 24 hours https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes/ 24 Hr Total Volume 2944.51 BTC

Update Re: Coinmarketcap ranking (part 2)To clarify EDU's position at Coinmarketcap: EDU did not lose $230,000 in marketcap last night. EDU did not decline 92% in price. Since EDU was listed on April 4, Coinmarketcap's operator Gliss has been unable to update the API feeds. This has led to wildly inaccurate readings of EDU trade data. Here is a recap of the issues with Coinmarketcap: 1. Coinmarketcap first added CryptoAlteX price data for EDU/BTC only. Ranking went up to #66 on the regular volume trading list. Things were not accurately reflecting all the data available from CryptoAlteX, but at least it reflected the majority of trades. 2. We requested Gliss add the LTC feed on April 10. He did not respond for several days. 3. We requested Gliss add a new exchange Coin-Swap on April 11. He did not add it. 4. After 10 days through multiple PM's, Gliss finally responds today by replacing the EDU/BTC price data with just the EDU/LTC price data. His recent action is the reason why over $230,000 in market cap vanished. Coinmarketcap's information for EDU is just plain incorrect at the moment. We made a new request to see whether Gliss can fix the index, but in the meantime, we have to remind everyone that nothing about the EDU's Coinmarketcap ranking, market cap, or price average is correct. Things should turn out better in a day or two when he gets through our request. --EduCoin Dev Team TLDR: Facts are, EDU is listed at two exchanges and there are four pairings: BTC, LTC, DGC, DOGE. Now, just the LTC pairing at one exchange is reflected in the index http://coinmarketcap.com/volume.html#edu resulting in a devaluation. If this can happen to us, it can happen to everyone who is not in the Top 10.

Instead of IRC, we're launching our Gitter chat. We're the first coin community to do this!Just wanted to share this link as well. Gitter is just like Slack except it has Github integration and public chat (more secure than IRC, interface is easy on the eyes too). Check it out, coders will geek out over it! Chatroom: https://gitter.im/edumoto/educoin Come join us and try it out.

On Mintpal, a person has 5 (five) votes per hour. How many Educoin members are there? Just imagine :10(days) x 100(persons) x 24(hours) x 5 = 120,000 .. we will be on top.. LOL :-). In reality, I'm lazy so I has only 10 votes /1 day. Yeah ... let's move forward

Aumarx,
That's great. According to google translate, the website says EduCoin is being accepted by a driving school in Australia?

Wow! That's amazing, how did that happen? Congratulations to whomever made that happen, this a great step foward! Also, has a developer reached out to cryptoaltex to eliminate the LTC exchange? The market is unhealthy for the growth of EDU, please stick to EDU/BTC everyone. We need to maintain a reasonable ground floor price, it also adds more real world value to the donations the devs are working on. If possible, please work on closing the ltc market and if an address is established, I can donate 20-50,000,000 to incentivize the owner of cryptoaltex to shut the ltc market down.

If possible, please work on closing the ltc market and if an address is established, I can donate 20-50,000,000 to incentivize the owner of cryptoaltex to shut the ltc market down. Welcome aboard! We gave our feedback to Chiznitz (the site operator of Cryptoaltex). For those of you joining us here is a 1-week summary: Right when the BTC trades were starting to happen, Cryptoaltex added the LTC and DGC markets. The site operator may not have realized how this exposed EDU to miners dumping while also hurting his own bottom line. Two consequences: 1) BTC trades seized up and coinmarketcap's wildly inaccurate readings placed EDU at the bottom of the ranking several times. 2) Dumpers saw that and de-valued the price on the LTC market until EDU sat at its current 1-liteoshi. So here's our plan to right the situation. EDU does not need to be traded on the LTC market until its BTC price is discovered and set. This is common sense and every exchange that lists new coins should consider this. Once the market floor is found, we can build up from there. We have a lot to offer the education community and we know that our adoption efforts are working. So to all future exchanges considering adding EDU, please consider BTC pairing first! Everyone wins.

The official dev team position is that we are not interested in getting listed at CryptoRush. For one thing, that link is broken. Secondly, there is no indication that CryptoRush's recent mini-Gox situation has been resolved. In fact, it hasn't since they are not even operating for business. We recommend steering clear of them for now. We've read this document carefully: https://www.cryptorush.in/press/20140418%20-%20Debt%20Management%20Statement.pdf While the tone is sincere and well meaning, all we can say is that we wish them well. EDU can't choose what exchanges list them, but we can help guide our community toward getting listed at reliable, debt free, and marketable exchanges. The current choice right now is Mintpal. --EduCoin Dev Team

we need phone wallet! Shared your idea on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Educoin/comments/23nszj/college_students_paying_for_stuff_with_edu//u/aumarx from bitcointalk says we need an android wallet. We agree. Sounds like a plan! Anyone who is interested in taking a crack at this ambitious project will instantly affect the adoption curve of EDU --and transform the way billions of dollars of education transactions are made each day at campuses around the world. Here are some starter links to help you look at Android Development and some app examples. (We don't recommend the iOS route because Apple will ban you, and if you do anything with Samsung's SDK they will just send you to one of their app challenges!) Good luck Android Devs! One day soon, college students will be able to pay for lunch, books, and tuition with EDU!
