i think most of the people here in forum are not actually good at trading because you need to be knowledgeable first before start trading, hold is always a good option when you bought coins on dip but because of the market downtrend holding makes look bad but i still believe that market will recover soon.

You never know if the prices are high at the moment or not. When Bitcoin cost $6000 everyone said that it's the best price for it and it won't dump any more. And then it dropped to $3500)) And I doubt that it is the bottom...So the price of Bitcoin is quite a relative notion and can't be considered as high or low at the particular period of time.

Holding brings a lot of profit if you don't hold like forever in silly hope that price of you coin will be rising for ever. You have to buy, wait right amount of time and sell it in right moment. That is what holding is.

Those buying now to hold are much waiting for December bull but will be disappointed when the bull don't show, some are trading and some hold as the bear seems to be over to them but bull waiting make most divert to holder which might not even help the market situation as volume is also very much required to make profit.

I may have not profited in this bear market but I was able to protect the value of the portfolio by trading compared to holding by using similar strategy to below.
Quoting this from a post here:

1. Bought 1 BTC at 10,000K
2. 1 BTC peaked at 19,200K, didn't sell
3. Accepted 20% loss and sold at $15,300
4. Bought 3 BTC when it hit $5000
5. Accepted 20% loss and sold at $4,000 (usd on hand $12,000)

Hodling 1 BTC is still just 1 BTC, but accepting loss twice and on step 4, you'll have 3 BTC for hodling or step 5 accepting another loss $12,000.
$12,000 beats $4,000 value of holding 1 BTC.
